As a younger married man I was preparing to learn a valuable life lesson on home wreckage from a man that I have learned to respect. Ended up learning what skinny fat means and what a good knife is lmao. Good show.
They almost certainly called his wife “slim thick” (or slim thicc, if you prefer). “Skinny fat” is something you would only use describe a man (and unlike slim thick, it’s not a compliment).

My grandfather passed away last year and the only thing I wanted was his old timer. I'm afraid to carry it for fear that I'd lose it but every time I see it I think of him. He was the best man I've ever known.
That's how I am with my dad's knives
That’s why ya give it to your son when he turns 21, because at that point, “your great grandfather’s knife” actually means something to him, and he’s old enough to keep up w/ it

Naw, it's those east coast guys. These days, I won't trust anything east of the Wasatch Front or west of the PCT. And, Colorado, well...
Perfect!!
Unfortunately all the major US knife brands are making alot of their stuff in China. Glad I've got mostly older Spyderco's and Benchmade's that were made in the USA. Case still makes mostly US pocket knives. Buck knives have gone to the dark side along with Gerber and CRKT. Kershaw makes a lot of quality value priced US knives But like all the other US brands you have to be careful which model you buy.

I've got an entry level Kershaw and I just can't spend the money on something higher for that same reason.
@@tonyfrank8528 I have several Kershaw knives, and you really can't best them for the money. Mine are all made in USA 🇺🇸, so can't speak to the other ones. My Chinese spiderco doesn't hold an edge, can tell you that much.
I too love quite a few cheap beater knives and keep them in the rotation.
My favorite knife is the long Discontinued Benchmade 710. No coating, no serrations, and a 4" blade of D2😃👍
Just a thought, maybe if you you had one that cost a little more, you might keep closer track of it. I'm still hanging onto one out of a 2/$20 (I think) Buck set from Walmart I bought several years back. I can't seem to find one at any price that really gives me the fizz so I'll hang onto this until I find my own homewrecker. :)
Love it. Love the channel, the professional homeowner jokes, all of it. Thanks for creating me. This channel is currently keeping me from losing my mind.
Those complaining about the Professional Homeowner saying and jokes have likely consumed far too much soy and invested to deeply into the feminist movement. Keep it coming Cody!

My grandpa gave me a knife every year for Christmas, all I had to do was give him a quarter. When he died, I put an old timer in his pocket in his casket.
THAT brought a tear! My own Dad had told Mother that I was to have his favorite Case pen knife, which I accepted graciously! But later, at the “viewing” I checked his pockets. Finding no knife, I quietly and carefully returned his! She passed a year later, never knowing...
Thats very honorable of you, if your Grand Dad cared about that knife enough to have it with him everyday, I bet he would have loved to take it with him when he moved on
My first was also an old timer...still have it ...
Well done Sir.
Well done

As an aspiring “professional homeowner “ I truly appreciate the inspiration of your comments. Funny, I had a dream last night that my benchmade (which I purchased on your recommendation) was under attack. By the end of the dream, I had decided it was up to me and I was a 940 man

Your professional homeowner comments give me the fizz Mr. W
Enjoyed this video. Well said. Glad to have you back on team 940.
OH COME ON WITH THAT TITLE. This is getting ridiculous lol.
Ok, Cody. I've owned the Osborne for longer than I've been watching your channel. In fact, I've had it since 2005 or so. Like you, I love the aesthetics of the knife, the green color, the purple accent. And it was my carry knife for many, many years. NOW... I'd suggest another Benchmade that is worthy of your consideration. No, it doesn't have the reverse-tanto blade, but it is beautiful and useable. It's the new Benchmade carbon-scaled Bugout, Model No. CPM-590V. It is ultra-slim and is configured with a traditional drop-point and the expected (and appreciated) Axis lock system. It's strong, but, as a carry knife, it is incredibly light with carbon-fiber scales and gorgeous blue accents. I know you're not a pocket clip kind of guy (I respect that), but as pocket clips go, this one is a great, deep-pocket design, with the knife only minimally protruding above the pocket line. You really need to take a look at it. I suspect it WILL give you the fizz.
As always, thanks much for sharing.
Steve
I'm sorry but I am struggling to understand how anyone could get salty about the professional home owner gags.
Hello Benedict White, have you met the internet?

I recently bought a bugout and I must say it does feel quite cheap compared to my 940 but I do like it. But for harder tasks it is not at all comparable to the 940. Thank you for showing me and many others how great the 940 truly is
Now all the jokes about Cody going back to the 940 when he got the para 3 have come true! 😂😂 love it!
“I like to wear my skinny jeans” had me literally laughing!

Just bought my first 940 because of you. I saw one of your videos about the 940 years ago and never could get that knife out my head. I finally broke down last week and bought one. Ive owned and used a lot of great knives over the years, USA made Bucks, Gerbers, Spydercos, and Kershaws, but this one tops them all. I hate the cost, but it’s worth it to me. Thanks for making me spend my money!
Sorry Cody but you saying "oooh girl you skinny fat" in a womens voice was something else lol. God bless. Love the content 👍🏻
The snowflakes will be coming out of the woodwork, 😂
I was about 5 when my older brother gave me a Barlow knife, the first knife I ever bought was an Old Timer much like the one you described. I was about 8 years old and I got a few dollars on my birthday and went to Heck's department store, I think it was $7 or $8 for the little 3 blade knife. At 57 years old, those Old Timers are still my favorite knives, I have been getting at least one every year for Christmas. I have a pretty good collection now. I have tried the modern knives, they just don't feel right in my pocket or hand. Thanks for brining the memory of that first "real" knife back to me this morning. God Bless.
Good job on the title today, proud of you,
I love that he told a story about his wife's hips to set up a metaphor for the knife. Lol
Hey, it certainly worked though hahaha
Can we get Jack’s thoughts on this? If i recall, he choose the “Bugout” over the “Osborne 940”

I think Mrs. W. may have given you a talking to after watching this.
Watching? Woman has questions from just the title lol
I appreciate a man that carries a blade day to day. I personally carry a Cold Steel Voyager tanto XL and have done everything from process deer and chickens, trimming branches, chopping down smaller elm, hornbeam, birch, and maples, open boxes, carve, fix dinners, baton wood for kindling, etc. and have found it to be superior to any Victorinox, Benchmade, Spyderco, CRKT, Kershaw, Gerber, etc. Every time someone gives me another blade I have a similar reaction...... "Will this one usurp old faithful's place in my heart and pocket?" 20 years running and I keep coming back to her. Glad you have a keeper too. Many blessings on you and your family!
This was the most entertaining folding knife video I have ever watched. Thank you WS.
Your guilt for cheating on your first love finally brought you home--benchmade rules.
Skinny jeans? And a man purse I suppose? 😂😂😂 you are cracking me up!! 😂😂😂😂
I have carried Kershaws for 20+ yrs. broke and bent many of tips over that time. This year for Xmas, my wife bought me a Benchmade Raptillian and I love it. I myself would never pay that kind of money for an edc knife that I use no less than a dozen times a day... Man this knife is tough. It changed my mind about the price.
As a professional homeowner myself, I say keep it coming. That was hilarious - I've only just begun. And yes, we pray for y'all my brother in Christ 🙏.
I was so concerned when I saw the title, I am relieved

When you find something that works for you, buy a backup. It never fails, that when you lose it or break it, and you have to get another, you find that the company has discontinued it.
I think I could, and pretty sure you could live with that "old-timer" knife and use it to the fullest. Do you think this current generation could? So many 'advancements" and steels and, well the list goes on and on. I'm guilty of falling for the marketing "need" for features too, so I guess I shouldn't talk.
I have a confession: I have a knife addiction. I have 3 Benchmades, 1 Spiderco, 1 Cold Steel, and a couple of others. Even though it's kind of big and bulky, the Benchmade Griptillian is my favorite. My fixed blades are all Moras, except for one Normark that I keep for sentimental reasons because my Dad gave it to me when I was a kid. Knives are kind of like guns--the number you need is the number you have, plus one. A friend once asked me if I carry a knife for self defense. I said no, I carry a knife because it's a useful tool.
I still carry a Buck Old Timer every day
Old Timer is a Schrade trademark.gave up on Buck when the brass (vs steel) frames failed.
@@rdeanbenson217 apologize I just call it a old timer it’s a 303 cadet. My dads is a schrade old timer but was harder to get. The 303 has served me well since my 18th birthday. I’ve never needed to sharpen in 17 years and it hasn’t lead a simple life.
R Dean I use to like buck folders years ago. Bought a new one after my old one would not lock open. But because of that ,I lost interest in them.
I'm watching in 2023 (2024 is a couple of weeks away) and it is interesting to see his progression of thought. He finally settled on the Spiderco as his daily EDC knife.
Totally get “having the fiz”. I carried a simple Opinel for years, but would now not be without my Leatherman Surge. I get it would not be for everyone owing to size and weight, but always having pliers, screwdriver, saw and of course a knife, always with me around my property, I miss it in hot weather when in shorts and not wearing trousers with a belt.
Yes, I would think a top quality multi-tool as an everyday carry item is WAY more useful than a single blade knife. Does Cody carry a multi-tool with him at all times?
I’ve carried my 940 4 years and have a brand new one in my junk drawer that I bought before the price increase. I have several Buck and Case knives as standbys but will probably never use them. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
The professional homeowner jokes Crack me up and I can relate 😐
Regarding Spyderco, I carried a Police Model with fully serrated blade for years as a Deputy. Carried it on my weak side. Intended use was to cut seat belts in auto collisions, and as a tool to cut someone loose from my sidearm if necessary. Still carry it years later though retired.
Those dang home wreckers. Lucky for me, I'm a polygamist when it comes to these girls.

As a Third Coast Man, allow me to stress the importance of carrying a solid multitool. My Leatherman wave has served flawlessly for more than a decade in all types of austere conditions. To quote the Jedi Master who showed me the way, "Carry one for a week, you'll never be without it."
I’ve never found a good use for the leather man. A heavy pocket weight without much utility for me. I hear glowing things about them, but when I have one I just regret bothering to have the weight in my pocket
Im stuck on the 3 blade it is everyone's own on what they like and works for them

Keep the ProHo tips coming. You will never hear me whining about anything in the comments. ProHo for life, brother!
I know you have your gripes with the benchmade bugout, but I think you would really enjoy it if you threw some titanium, copper, or brass scales on it from flytanium. I think this would solve your biggest complaint about it being too "breakable". But as the old saying goes, "if its not broken don't fix it", so I am glad to see you are still enjoying the 940. I carry a bugout everyday, but would love to get a 940 eventually. Keep up the great videos!
Good to see hes back to the good side again!
The 940 is the best knife for me that I’ve come across. Plus, green is my favorite color.
"My knife prints very bad," lol. I've had the same SOG for ten years now, no one has tempted me. My EDC is treasured and always feels just right. Sturdy and sharp AF, I love it.
Edit: I'm super happy you came home to your er'day and found where you want to stay.
Funny how once you've found your knife it's nigh on impossible to part with no matter what brand or style or material they are made of.
My EDC knife isn't even anything special it is a cheap (cost me I think £10 about 8 years ago) unbranded generic frame lock folder, but it's my workhorse knife it goes to work on site with me everyday plus all the jobs at home and when you are out and about its been used to pry tins open it strips cable all day every day (I'm an electrician) I've lifted floorboards with it dug out mortar, its get abused and I play with it all the time but it's sharp as anything and strong as an ox and I've yet to find any other knife that I'm happy to replace it with I've got several over the years but that one crappy knife always ends up in my pocket 😅 I feel naked without it
@@joefrayling9263 Yeah. I just bought my son a "much better" knife than mine. Some OTF knives tempt me from time to time, but I just can't make the switch to another blade.
You have reached the heights of wisdom for those of us who aspire to your greatness. Though only a professional semi-recreational home owner, (that's a level 1.5 on the pro scale!) I totally get the number one criteria for your favorite knife, lightening fast flipping and closing. Unfortunately this has been the cause of much contention with Mrs. Pro-semi-rec-homeowner.
