I just bought this car in horizon blue and I love this car! Just crossed 1k miles on it last week. Despite this being a smaller SUV it is quite spacious and comfortable on the inside because of the increased headroom. The tight turning radius and reverse trajectory assist in the back-up camera makes it very maneuverable. The touchscreen is intuitive, bright, and legible even in full sun while wearing sunglasses and is compatible with polarized sunglasses(no problems with oakleys, anyways). The windows are taller, making it easier to see all around while giving the illusion of more space than is actually there. Adults in the back bench seat also said it was spacious and the nicest ride/best seats of the 3 we drove that day(crosstrek, forester, outback, all 3 high level trim). I originally wanted a crosstrek but after test driving it I found it bumpy even on relatively smooth roads. The interior was nice but not as spacious. Adults in the back were jostled and the back seat was stiffer than necessary . I received a 2021 outback as a loaner while mine is getting some scratches from before I bought the car fixed(for free) and I have the same issues. It isn't as spacious, doesn't have as much visibility, and the back seat area is a bit small for adults to sit comfortably. I also didn't like the large navigation display in the outback, it reflected the sun in my face every chance it got, didn't work well with my sunglasses and seemed to be a huge smudge magnet. I didn't like the layout of the screen, either. It should have the option to display a single set of controls at a time instead of only seeing 3 or 4 things at once, partially defeating the purpose of a large screen. All in all, and in my own opinion, this car is the best SUV that Subaru offers right now(as well as most others). I hope to have mine for a very long time and would recommend this to anybody looking for a beautiful, safe, and comfortable car!
Jesse, We have a new Outback and Love it. I bought it for my wife to commute to and from work. My dad lives with us and is wheelchair bound so we needed more cargo room. We also need the size of the Outback as our “road car”. When my car wears out, we’ll be purchasing a Forrester Sport or a new Solterra EV for me.
Jesse, btw, make sure you have the transmission serviced every 30K miles so the CVT will last the life of your Forrester. We put 1/2 million miles on our last Subaru. We had the oil changed every 4K miles with Mobile 1 full synthetic. Other than that, we had it serviced as scheduled.
I went to college in St. Cloud (SCSU) as an international student from Taiwan back in the '90s and I know Walser Subaru. Actually, I'm buying a 2021 Forester here in Taiwan and that's why I found this UA-cam page. This video has been well done and I appreciate Ed. Very informative and helpful. Snow is not an issue here in northern Taiwan but I still want a Subaru and I don't know why. Just like it.
Chia, We’re on our 3rd Subaru. The first one had 300K miles on it when we traded that Outback in on a Tribeca, which we just sold to our niece to get her through college. It had 500K miles and was using a quart of oil between changes. We only have 11K miles on our new one. Change the oil with Mobile 1 full synthetic every 4K miles and change the transmission fluid every 30K miles and your Subie will last as long as ours have. Enjoy your day

Bought same color 2021 limited edition July 27, 2021.I just crossed 460km
I've got the 2021 Forester Sport in Grey. Its soooo nice. My first SUV type car and it feels like just driving a regular small car.
Thanks for the review. Very helpful.
Well done Ed!
Superb. By the way what color is the car?
We have exactly like this and it isn’t a compact SUV😕
Love the color, what exterior paint color is it?
It must be the Magnetite Gray Metallic
was disappointing to find out there's no subaru forester at the minnetonka dealership because of chip shortage.
Tenzin, If you want a new Forrester, you’ll have to order one and wait 7-9 months to get it.
Does it have ventilated seats?
no
What color is this ?
Grey
1:44 Napa Valley leather. Whatever that is 😂😂😂😂😂
I think that refers to the brown color
That is what they call it. That is what that is.
