I enjoyed this video not just for the surfboard picks but more for your insight into your evaluation methods and parameters. Whether it's fin choice or videos like this, I appreciate the almost scientific method you use for surfboards and surfing, including instruction. While I'm not a fan of wave pools but I still watch your pool information nonetheless
So interesting I keep going back to the CI fever. Can’t wait to custom order a spinetech groveler version as well as a round tail poly HPSB to compare my squash tail too. At 5’5” and 145-150lbs it’s tough to send it on a pair of customs with that board being so narrow and long on their stock dims. Thanks for putting all these vids out. Helps a ton
Super interesting. Especially the info in regards to round tail on a SWPB. I had similar doubts with Losts puddle jumper hp round. And found the twin plus trailer actually balances the round tails tendency to hold and stiffen up board.
Oh you're talking my language! 👏👌 I miss surfing 😭 51, back problems, arthritis , with a Pyzel Ghost upstairs and a nice Portuguese made epoxy over in France unused 😭 but I love talking about the engineering of boards and imagining what they can do from the specs
Any plans to review the Rusty SD and more recent SD RT RE? Interesting to know how they compare (with the new RE bottom feature) and how both stack up against other similar surfboards.
Noel Bushman Flow Twin with glass ons ....... BEST board ever for me! Been experimenting since 2006! Has beens: CI Merrick Retro Twin 2009 Arakawa Stubby 2012 Coil Industries M13 HP swallow quad 2014 FireWire Cymatic 2019 Bushman Flow 2023
Both are excellent… the BV2 offers more down the line speed and it will grovel a little better. The HK2 Carrie’s good speed with more performance in the pocket…. It draws sharper lines.
Have you checked out the nvs grennan fins? they are opposite theory of what you are use to....short base huge rake.... they work insane would love you to try and offer your expert feedback
Hi, apologies if stupid question I have a set of futures T1s as a twin fit set would adding a stabilizer in the middle work or does it have to be 2 plus one specific set (it would be going on a rocket wide swallow) Any help much appreciated.
Always a pleasure to learn from you. Hey are you considering trying the abuh dabi wave pool and maybe jump to Bali? I Would lo ve to see you un bali and see what would be the board you’ll choose for a daily surf
Thank you for another insightful video. I'm curious about your perspective on volume. It's been a challenge for me while searching for a new board. I'm starting to wonder if I'm overlooking the significance of volume.
You don't want to put yourself in my shoes :-) I need the world's first ai board. I took a chance on a 3d printed board. The Wyve Twin Pin. What a fun board. Put Machado Keels on it and it just works.
Any board that you would recomend for an intermediate surfer who surfs 90% average local beach breaks? Looking for a good all rounder At the moment i'm using a CI OG Flyer 6"1 with 34LT . I'm 1.87m tall 84kg.
@@bonsummers2657 its a great board. This was my first proper shortboard after riding a 7"6 then moved down to a 6"6 and finally the OGF. Great speed, holds quite nice, enough mobility to make turns. With squash tail works pretty well. Just considering to buy something a new one to try different boards but i'll keep the OGF for sure.
Thats not what I got at all. I think its more, don't assume specific board attributes will always surf and be the same. (EG: Rounded pin tail only surfing/feeling a specific way, and it applies to every board with that attribute ) Ive been struggling a lot with this lately too. boards that are almost the same dims and same attributes, surf completely different and excel in specific conditions. Basically i think Noel is just confirming how damn hard it is to select a board and have it surf as well as you hope and expect, and there are so many aspects that make a board a "magic" board. Another aspect is that as your skills and wave reading ability improve, what you want and need also changes. Its just another dynamic to the journey. (EG: surfing flat and the board glides on its own, vs a more performance rail you need to pump and be on rail. All of this is why i only buy boards used now. Now I get to experiment and really find what works without being out 800-1000 bucks. Now i have a quiver and can talk to a shaper and tell them what i like, show them, and then maybe they can build me a custom for the conditions / way i want to surf. What might be magic for your friend who is the same weight and skillset, might be a friggin dog for you.
great video, after your enthusiasm for the Chili BV2 I bought one, then I was buying another board last year - the Chili Peppa Twin and then earlier this year I couldn't decide on a Hot Knife 2, so I contacted Chili by e-mail and they responded immediately but I waited to long to decide and the board got sold. I wasn't sure because I moved from Santa Cruz to Florida after moving from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz and Florida waves are so weak and inconsistent. Puerto Rico surfing is better than Florida generally but it's only good for a couple days every other week, making it hard to justify paying $ to fly out from Florida all the time. So I had to figure out if the Hot Knife 2 was Florida suitable. I'll be back in California to visit family next fall where I think the Hot Knife 2 is more suited than Florida
That’s an older model with a good amount of rocker. Not ideal for the pool or So Cal Waves. It needs a wave with some power and a steeper face. It’s a legit HPSB.
do you think the rnf redux is considered a small wave proformance board if not im 6 foot anf 165 pounds what board would you recommend where i surf is alot of smaller waves and i want a board that i can turn good on

Hi Noel! Hope you have review on Chilli surfboard. I have firewire and al merick. But chilli stands out on intermediate surfer. They are easy to ride.
Any plans to review the Rusty SD and more recent SD RT RE? Interesting to know how they compare (with the new RE bottom feature) and how both stack up against other similar surfboards.

Such a solid review, thanks Noel
Awesome content as always! I am very interested on the Chilli HK2..as SWPB how about compared to BV2?
So far… the HK2 is feeling really good. It offers more performance in the pocket compared to the BV2. However the BV2 might be a bit faster
Thank you Noel, HK2 will be added to the quiver very soon!
Ive been looking at getting the 🌶️ BV2! Should i change my mind and go the HKII?

Great insight here will be a very helpful vid to many in the community cheers.

The T1’s set comes with a Stabilizer… just put the T1 and Stabilizer in your RW and see how it goes
Ah ok thanks

I wish I had an invite to Abuh Dabi to surf Kelly’s pool. No plans at the moment…
Cool surf clamp thing to lean against the wall. Where can i get one?
I think the company went out of business

Hi Noel! The new JS Fusion seems very similar in characteristics to these 2 surboards.. what do you think? could you do a 3-way comparison?! Greetings

So where would you rank the dominator 2 with these boards? Also is the mash up in the conversation?
The D2 is in the conversation as a Daily Driver and Small Wave Performance board. Mashup is not… it’s got a wider nose and best in 1-3’ surf

I dont feel like the other boards you ride are the same rocker as the hypto krypto.. it has almost no rocker.
I ride a lot of boards with similar rocker as the HK. Go to our site and look at all of them here.

"Hello Noel, what is the surfboard you mention right at the beginning of this video? I can't quite understand the name, thank you very much!"
Channel Islands Neck Beard 2
Bro you're a surfer and you moved to Texas :\...
Great one... but maybe need to keep in mind weight of folk in the 90kg + range and not a paper weight like yourself.
Why would reviewers need to keep a viewer’s weight in mind? There are surfers with so many weight ranges
Yeah all those boards, ALL made for skinny guys, wish dann man, kelly would make boards for bigger guys.
