A thick glaze is a thin layer. I think its a bit of a beginner trap to consider the different styles of blending as separate things, I personally consider glazing, feathering, layering etc to be different points on a graph of the axises volume of liquid and strength of opacity (think XY graph. I like math, sue me). and you get the best results when you mix and match to exactly what gives you your desired result.
Think of it like, a so called layer would be higher the opacity and medium on volume. Wash would be high volume medium opacity etc.
The next thing to consider as a separate technique is application method, such as stippling, brush stroke, air brushing, drybrushing etc. Think of if as wich method transfers paint from the palette to the mini.

Wow. This all seems like a lot of work when you could just use oil paints to either glaze on top of your base coats or just use oil paints fully and have amazing blends in seconds.
