Hi Mark. You never mentioned it but in the past. I found it's good practice when winding back caliper pistons to first take off the Reservoir cap. 1st it reduces any resitance on the wind back. 2nd it gives the opportunity to remove some fluid, which will be replaced by the fluid during wind back and top up if needed. I won't mention my tip for the Exhorst pipe cleaning. See you in the next one. Stay Safe. 😊👍👍
That guy u using to pull out back end dent did a fantastic job I would use him everytime u are ding a great job cleaning out the disc not many will do that when selling cars on and they would go with the old disc but u replaced them u are a top man Phil in stoke
Your puller guy sure is very good at what he does, & I very much doubt anyone will ever notice that really small crease in the boots corner. As usual, your own work's truly exemplary, it's brilliant, simply superb Mark! Shane. :-)
Great video, really enjoying seeing the progress on the car. A very common issue on Fiesta ST180's is the brake caliper carrier sliding pins seizing. That's probably why the rear discs were in such a state.
Good job so far, I'd let the next owner sort the alloys out and even the tyre's, they may wish to use a brand they trust and just price the car accordingly highlighting the above, seen on Instagram what the next project is and look forward to the unveiling, well done.
There’s only so many hours in a day Mark! - And spending most of the time on your knees on a concrete floor doesn’t help the situation at all. Don’t over do it - pace yourself. Well done to Mrs Resurwreck Autos on the bidding front, keep it in the family. Stay safe matey!
I think those disks needed changing tbh, I wouldn't have used them again. Nice replacement though 🙂 I personally would not have those alloys refurbished, a good cleaning would do...but I know what a perfectionist you are 😀 Well done today, stay safe bud! 👍🙂
When you get a disc, it comes coated in a film of oil, it’s to prevent it from rusting while on the shelf. It should be cleaned off with brake cleaner before to prevent contamination. Way over thinking that slight dint inside boot, with the carpet and boot plastics would never ever know.
One of the best money saving jobs you can do on a car your own brakes done my fronts today ,the workshop do a good job of pulling that rear panel it won't be long now till it's up for sale
Been waiting for this one. New break discs and pads good call Mark . Coming together great , who ever buys it getting a good one for sure. Now put your feet up matey and have a cold one hahaha .
The cars looking great now mark. but your right the car can become a money pit. Can't wait to see the new car. Keep safe mate and see you on the next video.
I've never seen someone clean a exhaust tips with toilet cleaner. I've use wheel cleaner for on my stainless steel exhaust wire wool fine then polished them??.
As always you go above and beyond buddy and definitely lighten my evening up 👍 not to sure about the toilet cleaner though 😂😂 I’d try some metal polish next time 👍
Love you channel been here a long time. In regard your brake jobs please check your sliders and clean them and regressed them. Use a silicon based grease not copper slip. I saw the back of your old discs and they were defiantly not wearing even due to sticky sliders. Keep up the good work but please check your sliders pal.
Just had a thought. If you open the roof by a single press, does it stop at the correct place, then another press to the correct place and don’t on? When the roof is open it disables the boot switch. If the roof ECU looses position it may need a reset. I’ll send you the roof initialisation instructions on Instagram.
On the back of this video, and your general idea of what's the right thing to do,I have subscribed👍 You know you sound like ray parlour (which as a north london born boy I like)
Good choice changing them rear disks especially they were buggered looked like some cowboy yobbo has savaged them with a grinder 😔 and can you please get a knee board makes my knees hurt just watching you.
Great job, will you be investing in a hydraulic lift as all the knee work will come back and haunt you one day, I have two replacement knees to bear.testimate to that. Will be a really great upgrade and make your life so much easier. Loving your work as always.
Mark, I am exhausted watching you, you're a grafter mate, great car for someone. Always a good idea to get the other half involved, takes the pressure off a bit. Did you purchase an extension cable for the obd2. Looking forward to the hot hatch, All the best.
Ultra common mistake even on car forums as long as Mark doesn’t break the brakes, that may just break him if he does - dyslexia is a hard mistress to please
Mark mate, you really should protect your hands with gloves, given all the crud you touch and your skin absorbs. Gotta' look out for your health buddy, otherwise Mrs Resurwreck Autos UK, won't be bidding, but taking care of you instead!
