Key thing is here in my opinion is stability. Stop chasing the numbers if corals feel good. Such as Ph, alkalinity, phosphate

If you have been in this hobby for any amount of time you know that all reef tanks are not perfect. They all require a lot of work.
Testing and having a maintenance planned based off what you find is important for continuous success. Making assumptions with what you FEEL is going on with your tank is not.

I decided to test tonight because I haven’t tested all my parameters in a while (daily alk, salinity, and temperature). Found out my magnesium was all the way down to 1260ppm when it used to run at 1350ppm.

I bought every test kit my lfs had and for the first 6 months my life was hell and everything died one by one. I gave up and havent tested one single thing for the last 6 months and my tank is looking awesome now.
