- Vic does a complete makeover on is tank and adds some new equipment. He also installs a frag tank where he will be growing lower light corals. This will allow him to grow more acros under intense lighting in is 80 gallon waterbox!

Victor please do a informational video on Kalkwasser and it’s benefits! I was told you are a big fan of it and would love to hear why! I would also love to hear about the disadvantages of low ph and the advantages of accessing a higher ph range! As I’ve been leaning on starting to dose kalkwasser but seem to be worried about using it due to its aggressive nature! I have picked up a dosing pump and a Apex to do so but would love to get any information I can before starting! Love your videos keep up the good work!

We have talked about kalkwasser on some of our other videos. We use kalk because we notice an increase in growth when dripping it in. The corals just seem "happier". It also keeps PH higher, causing corals to have stronger skeletons and gives them better overall health. We try to mimic natural conditions as much as possible and the kalk helps us get closer to the stable 8.3 ph that is found on the reefs. This is even doubly important if using a calcium reactor, since these tend to drop PH from excess CO2. We use Kameor peristaltic pumps for dosing kalk on the systems we have in the farm. BRStv has multiple in depth videos on kalk in particular, which would surely be some good watches! Kalk is great, just don't mess up with an overdose!!!!

How many others might install a similar substrate after seeing your tank's run it? See this show's the expectation and the likely management needed to maintain it.
And you look more credible when showing mistakes openly, or showing how you deal with problems that arise (because they always do).
We aren't afraid to tell it like it is and show you behinds the scene. There is no such thing as perfection in this hobby, and we are ok with that. Everyone has issues, and we are glad to show you ours if it will help you!

I’ve had bosses like you, but you couldn’t just “tune in”. I’m always surprised by how many invertebrate names you know 😂. It’s ok if you call everything with a shell a snail 😂

Ive been running my Red Sea Reefer G2 now for 8 months after being out of the hobby for 6 years or so.
Overall the tanks looking good just having issues with my red plating monti losing colour. Turned more of a baby pink than the deep red when i brought it.
LPS is growing well just the SPS struggling a bit.
Any tips or ideas? Ive done a couple of ICPs i can share.

Can you explain the UV and how you have it plumbed. They always seem to be an after thought and then it is difficult to figure how to run it. My tank is up and running so it will be added.
It is teed off of the return pump via the waterbox manifold, using vinyl tubing. Then it is draining back into the mechanical filtration side of the sump. Super simple!

Lovely set ups...but how about you do a tank WITHOUT using an Apex, probes, dosers, etc. etc.?
Most people starting up a tank can't afford (or don't want) that kind of gear...
It would be an interesting contrast to see a "basic" set up, and how it does, along with maintenance schedule/issues etc...

I thought I’m the only one who cleans substrate or sand algae and use it after removing the algae. I’ve seen other people just dispose it off. 😊
There's nothing wrong with the substrate itself, why not reuse it? I like the way you think!!! 😃

Can corals go with macroalgae?
Yes, just keep in mind that most tangs eat most macros and macros can grow over corals eventually.

Acros next to Gonis? How is that working with PAR requirements?
Gonis can tolerate more Par than you think. Especially if you acclimate them slowly to higher light situations.

not sure whats going on in the audio with this one, and ofc the one im interested in lol. music just came booming in after intro then u cant even hear vic speaking when showing the algae then it just shoots back to crazy music at 1:44...

@@WorldWideCorals np, i was just very interested in this video. going thru a similar situation with slightly elevated po3 and i noticed growth slowing down & a bit dullness in my coral. how has the tank been since disturbing the gravel/dead coral. no elevated nutrient levels etc?
Why the change from the nero7 to MP40?
same thoughts. I replaced my loud MP40 to Nero and it was a great move. So much quieter, no vibration or sliding dry side. The wire sucks, but so did the half brick attached to the exterior of my tank.
