- Edit: This is getting a lot more popular than I thought it would so I would like to credit an Ashfur AMV called Pigeon and an Ashfur MAP called Daisy Bell. It's aha a little bit scummy that I didn't credit them before I'm really sorry-
AHHH it's finally done!! I've been working on this PMV for weeks, I'm so happy to finally have it finished!!
I am incredibly proud of this PMV. Not only am I proud of actually doing decent art for once, but I also love the story and meaning behind it ^^
aLsO, just putting it out there, Ashfur is one of my least favorite cats. I literally hate him. He's so possessive and horrible to Squirrelflight. He threatens to MURDER HER CHILDREN literally just because she chose another cat over him. AND HE STILL GETS INTO STARCLAN!!
I wrote a fanfic where he was actually a good cat and a supportive friend to Squirrelflight, if you wanna read it :)

This is so cool! Not only is it presented and drawn so well, but it's cool to see someone who uses Scratch to code animations! Awesome job! Also, the way you drew Squirrelflight and her fluff is just PERFECT!

I do actually have a full AU where he is actually good, a lot of things play out very differently in it though. This is more of an AU where he is delusional and just pretends that Squirrelflight loves him even though she doesn't

I honestly wish someone would notice that Ashfur was hurt and help him before it was too late, but of course Erins usually make random characters evil or just kill them off when leaving them alive would make the stories more interesting, also is this inspired by the Daisy Bell map?
I CANNOT AGREE MORE WITH THIS. I think Ashfur could have been developed SO much better. But it really does feel like the erins just came up with the squirrel bramble conflict and only last minute were like 'oh wait we need another cat to like her for this to work- uh- damn it we already killed off shrewpaw... and Stonefur's living with the tribe now with a new mate... uhhhhhh what background characters do we have???' It really felt so forced. I obviously don't agree with what Ashfur did in the end, and he was a genuinely horrible cat. But it was SO forced. I cannot express how much I hate the writing in warrior cats, pretty much all i like about those books is the concept. Also! This MAP actually started as a 'me and my broken heart' PMV (if you put that song over it instead, you'll see that the timing is right for like 30 seconds of it lmao) but i found that song and thought it was a much cooler and more abstract song. I was about halfway through the intro part (the part where they're all sillhouettes) and then I decided I'd see if there were any other Ashfur PMVs to the song. I was pretty upset when I found the MAP, but it was genuinely so cool. I liked the pastelly palette idea, so i used that, but I only watched the MAP once until I'd finished, so I tried not to get any inspiration from it. I actually got more inspiration from an AMV, it was the pigeon one by Starch... something i can't remember their name. If you look at the AMV you can actually see a frame I refranced :> wow that's a lotta writing sorry lmao-
@@palletpastel5194 Ikr, Squrrielflight might have noticed that he was acting weird around her and might have been able to make Ashfur happier and get over his rejection but then Erins were like “Well he’s hurt and then he like killed a leader, definitely evil, let’s find a random cat to kill him er- Okay Hollyleaf can kill him, also let’s make her friend zone Ashfur in Starclan just because” Also Ashfur could have been a great villain, he could have killed Hollyleaf and trick another clan and then a bunch of drama happens. Then he’s exiled and who knows what happened to him, he also could have be renamed “Firestalker” Reference to the fire and him basically being a creep. The series could have had a great twist and also have Brambleclaw dead, Squrrielstar anyone? So Squrriel becomes deputy and then Firestar eventually dies from.. Ashfur? Ashfur ALSO could have made the flaming tree fall on Firestar and make Squrrielflight deputy, in fact Ashfur didn’t want to kill Squrriel, he wanted her to rise in power so she could fall in love with him again because he got her there. Eventually Ashfur runs away and who knows what happens to him. The stories could have been So, so much better if he was developed like this. Basically Yandre Ashfur AU, how creative B)

i must disagree, brambleclaw was abusive to squirrelflight, then squirrelf and ashf became really close, his heart was broken when she went back to the guy who hurt her, he felt so betrayed, he was left out, squirrelf just forgot about him, of course he'll be angry :((
plus he didnt kill anyone, he only threatened to, yeah i can agree hes a bit possessive but hes not the bad guy you view him as, people do stupid things when they're angry or upset

oh, I 100% agree that Brambleclaw was abusive. I think it must have been really hard for Ashfur to see the girl he loved with somebody else, but even harder when she was in such a toxic relationship. But where he went wrong was getting so ANGRY about it. If he truly was Squirrelflight's friend, if he truly did care about her feelings, he would have sat and talked to her about it. And even if she disagreed, he would have been there as a shoulder to cry on and a helping hand whenever she needed it. But instead, he got so angry that he made her miserable with every chance he could get. He assisted in her father's attempted murder, he would definitely have killed the three if they weren't adopted, he was happy to ruin all of their lives by revealing it at the gathering, no matter how much they all begged him not to, and then when he finally died, instead of sitting back and reflecting on his actions, he took the first oppertunity he could to literally posess Brambleclaw and abuse Squirrelflight even more than Brambleclaw did. I do feel sorry for him. I do understand why he was upset. But he went way too far, and no 'feeling' can justify the things he did.

@@palletpastel5194 nah you didnt come off as angry, i havent read the books so i only know the things i have seen from videos, theres a huge possibility ashfur got jealous, i used to have a similar problem, when i got jealous i’d get so upset and angry i’d hurt others, (i changed that ofc) but he may have done something similar, i just feel bad for him and dont think he belongs in the dark forest
I hate how the erins did it to ashfur and made him a villian when they could've made him move on. Because lets be serkous bramble was terrible but no ash terrible. As is still my fav because erins messed him up he could've left her or if he felt as a threat could've left to a new clan
