Really great video, those crosswinds and that float looked harsh. For the next airline with a 777 maybe stay in the same part of the world and go with Air New Zealand or Singapore Airlines.

Norfolk Island if I'm not mistaken is an external territory under the administration of New South Wales. It is actually far closer to New Zealand than Australia. There is actually a famous Pine Tree from this island.

@@BluGames Rather bizarre then. Even the ATIS said arrivals and departures are using 34L/R. I guess it's an issue with the AI generated ATC. As someone else said the 3rd runway is only really used with strong west/east winds or late at night where planes can land from over the ocean in order to cut noise over residential areas

Air Canada has great 777 Routes, for both the 777-300ER and 777-200LR.
I think the best airline to join with the boieng 777 are Emirates, United airline and Air France and cathay Pacific

Good pilots will do a go around instead of forcing the issue! Bad pilots would have tried to land this plane with half the runway gone! Safety first!

Answering the title: Course not, better to wave off and land safe rather than trying to force it out of pride. The better pilot recognises a landing isn't safe and aborts, the idiot pilot tries to land it first go and risks the lives of his passengers.
