    I just bought volume 6 of the PS Art Books' Plastic Man series. It includes Plastic Man #22-26. Issue 26 was the last time Jack Cole worked on the book full time. The quality of the reprints is not great, but it's definitely enjoyable. I love the Woozy Winks stories, too!

      I wonder if they will go beyond Plastic Man 26 then ? I have had a few of the DC archive series ones for Plastic man. I hope they include the Woozy stories as well, as you say, they were wonderful. I think one of the best sets of stories, super inventive and something I doubt will ever be repeated

    Metamorpho by Ramona Radon is great! I obtained all the Brave and the Bold issues by Fradon and all the early issues of Metamorpho by Fradon many years ago. I met her at the 2001 SDCC. Quite a nice lady!

      Those stories with the art from Ramona Fradon are wonderful. Read many of the originals back in the 60s and 70s and have the showcase but will definitely be getting the Metamorpho book in colour. I hope they also bring out a Brave and the Bold early stories that capture many of those early comics that probably won't be reprinted in other series.

    The prices on Amazon for the US releases seem to be consistent at 39 dollars. The Legion of Super Heroes, Justice League, and Justice Society are set for release later this year. This looks like their DC version of Marvels Epics. DC has such a rich history and I hope they dip into some of the more obscure stuff.

      I really hope so and the first set of 20 or so releases seem to be promising a good run, hope that is the case. Was disappointed by their dropping of the Showcase as well as the archives. I wondered what the US price was going to be. I assume when they come out in the UK they will fall into a fairly consistent £30 or so range from Amazon (though probably more elsewhere) DC has a wonderful range of comics, so many that have never been released. The JSA is my must have purchase

    I hope they bring some of the more comedic titles, would love to see Sugar and Spike or Fox and Crow in this format.

      @AndrewBuckleBookReviews  2 дні тому

      Yes, that would be excellent. I could definitely see myself going for Sugar and Spike or some of their other comedic ones. I don't think we will see a Fox and Crow though as I think that was a licensed property as were the Bob Hope and many of their others, maybe wrong on that and perhaps it may still happen.

      @@AndrewBuckleBookReviews I think your correct, the licensed properties probably won't see the light of day, still holding out hope for Sugar and Spike since DC owns the rights outright.

    If you want to see what the DC Finest books will look like, Kurtis from The Finest DC Channel on UA-cam has shown a Galley Copy of the Cat Woman book, which is a sample copy. You might want to watch that video. I am not sure if I will be getting any of the DC Finest books since I am a Marvel fan and trying to collect everything from Timely/Atlas/Marvel in Epic Collections and Omnibus.

      thank you, didn't know about the gallery proof video. I am happy collecting both DC and Marvel and looking forward to some of the DC finest but then again, haven't got all the epics. I would to see a Timely epic collection though ... that would be something to pick up

    The Aquaman and Supergirl books will begin with 1959 stories, almost no doubt. Speaking of late '50s, eventually I'd expect Silver Age Green Arrow, likely starting with 1958. Justice Society certainly will begin with the WW II era (around All-Star #14), maybe they will later go back to All-Star #3. As with Plastic Man, all of those earliest GA stories were run in the Archives. Legion looks to be early Bronze Age (Dave Cockrum). Strange Adventures you mentioned has had 2 Showcase volumes. DC began their Strange Advs. reprinting with the first Code approved issue from 1955 in those books.
    Regarding your Plastic Man question, his self-named title was all Plas stories and Woozy Winks solo stories. Plas' stories in Police Comics (earliest and on) were backed up by Phantom Lady, The Firebrand, the Mouthpiece, The Human Bomb, etc. None of that other than Plas will be collected in his Finest book(s).
    Superboy will be the top priority for me. Most of those stories (from circa 1954-55), as you indicated, have not been reprinted in the U.S. and I'm eagerly awaiting that collection. Regarding price, I suspect if a particular volume reprints stories that were collected in the Archives, Showcases, omnis, etc., that will allow for lower production costs and therefore more pages included / lower price. Files are ready for so many stories, though some that were in the Showcase collections have never been re-colored.

      I guess it is going to be a major job to get some out more than others that have been done before in the Archives. Would still love to see the earlier Aquaman and Superboy stories but if it 58 etc onward that would be fine, I just love the quirkier GA period material. I would be surprised to see a Human bomb DC finest collection or any of the minor Quality characters even if I would be happy to see the collections. JSA could be issue 14 start point, I could see that but a full set would be nice but any JSA collection is something to look forward to and I have seen two listed now, so that must cover a reasonable number of comics (guessing a 600 page will have 12 in each so that would be 24 issues covered). Really hope the Legion is bronze initially, I have all the silver age omnis and I quite enjoyed those bronze age stories that I picked up in 72 / 73 / 74 etc. We will see in the next few months what will be happening and what to actually buy

    31 volumes announced so far, golden silver and bronze age pre-Crisis collections definately interest me more. I'd love to have golden age Fawcett Comics Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr, and the Marvel Family, other books I'd like - All-Star Squadron, Ambush Bug, Arak, Enemy Ace, Firestorm, Madama Xanadu. Looking forward to golden age Superman as I dont have those comics, the original Superboy stories collected, Justice Society of America, and the Legion of Super-Heroes.

      31 volumes ... I must admit I am losing count. That is a lot, perhaps too many for many to purchase all of them (just a quick calculation, approx £1000 for the lot). All Star Squadron, yes, that would be good and Enemy Ace. I would love to see all the Fawcett books but I doubt it as well as the Superboys. The Atom / Silver age superboy is coming out but I wonder if they will back date and go for the really early issues as well at some point, it does look like they are just all over the place with the number so not in order. GA superman is going to be interesting, I have some of the material or read it elsewhere but a collection that does go through all the GA Superman as well as the other GA heroes would be amazing. Not going to hold my breath though

      @@AndrewBuckleBookReviews I wont be holding my breath either, DC has a terrible track history for hype and beginning a line and then giving up. I'll pick up a few as they come out but to be honest I'll be surprised if they stick with. My hope is someone with sense has finally made DC bigwigs realise they can make money off their vast archive vault if they copy Marvel's Epic Collections, which is reported to be their biggest selling range of books.

      You would think so, I love the Marvel epic series. DC could do well with this but they need to stick with it and hopefully people will then buy into the series and buy many volumes from it. They have a huge library of material that people have never seen (outside the original comics) and hopefully this time they will really create an amazing series and not just suddenly end.
