Are u sure it has "full MIDI" features? I know that it can save/receive up to 128 Programme Change but i don't think it can handle CC infos. Plus i don't think u can dial up, up to 128 different sound from any of those "4 channels" & save it to the 128 presets slots. I think is similar to the Friedman IR series pedal in terms of MIDI, which means it can only recall any of the 4 footswitches via MIDI. So i don't think it ihas full MIDI capabilities. The only analog drive pedal that i know of that is analog in it's tone shaping but are able to digitally controlled, saved & recalled via MIDI (up to 128 presets) is the Kernom Ridge. I wished this Mothership could do that too, having the ability to save/recall up to 128 different tones via MIDI. But this is still a damn good sounding drive pedal.... I prefer this Mothership over the Friedman IR series pedal, but then again, these are personal preferences only...Whatever it is, for the time being, i will stick to my Boss IR-2 as my main "Amp In A Box". ...it's cheaper but still sounds great & feels great too...
It's primary application as intended is clearly to replace your amp for DI recording or gigs. It's a midi switchable 4 channel pre-amp with poweramp and speakercabinet emulation able to run parallel outputs. Quitte a bit different from a standard overdrive pedal which does none of those things.
It has a few pro's over the Friedman though. Like the option to go to FOH and a poweramp at the same time without the need for external pedals. The option to actually turn off the unit and to bypass it with the cabsim still active. This means you can add another tube pre-amp pedal and use the built in IR's of the mothership. With something like a Tubesteader Lightkeeper you then have three channels instead of two. It's also made from metal instead of plastic which you would expect for the price!
ANALOG POWER AMP SIMULATION The MOTHERSHIP features an onboard all analog tube-like power amp simulation for the CAB output. This high grade analog circuit emulates the feel and the character of EL34 power tubes in push pull topology providing punch and sag when needed.
I love the reviews where you spend at least a little bit of time talking. You’re an amazing player but hearing you speak on the gear is nice too!
Your intro tunes are so epic!
this unit sounds great in all the demos i have seen so far. curious to see if it becomes a hit!
Great review of a really cool piece of gear.
The tone reminds me of the band Jet! Great video
Amazing!

Just what the guitar world needed, yet another OD/Dist pedal!

Sounds great and all, but at this price point, I would rather have a spin on the Friedman IR-X / IR-D options.
They are only similar in the physical format. They are different in operation and purpose.
What do u mean?

@@florisvanlingen I agree, the functionality of the unit is amazing.
The absence of power Amp section could be a problem for Direct recording?

@@sherbuel If it's the same as on their multicab pedal, it feels and sounds great!
