Trunk Mounted 12V Plugs In My Lexus GX470

- Installing 4 12V plugs into the trunk of my GX470 so I can power things in the trunk. 2 USB plugs and 2 12V plugs. Links are below to the products I used for this install.

I have a fridge in the back of my GX too and I just use the outlet at the back to power my portable battery and my fridge is plugged to it
I wanted to have more than a plug and these stay on while the car is turned off while the OE outlet turns off.
This is awesome man. So I’m about to do this as well but my switch panel has an on and off switch, does that still connect to the fuse block as well ? Thank you
@@Helixxification the plug kit I bought came with an on off switch and I replaced that with another 12V plug. I think a lot of these kits with a switch have an in like fuse on the switch. Since I got rid of the switch I put in a fuse block instead.
@@eriksadventurelab ahhhh ok makes sense. I’m trying to use it just to power my fridge on trips then switch over to our goal zero battery. I just don’t want it on all the time when we get to our destination. Is yours on all the time or only when you have the car on or in ignition ? Thanks man
The USB plugs have a switch to turn them on and off. The 12V plugs are always on since they’re connected to the battery with no switch. I plan to just unplug my fridge from the car 12V plug and into a power bank. If you wanna not kill the battery you can use a switch to just turn it off.
