Nah, thanks to you he’s now the third best New York Rapper of the 90s behind Biggie and Nas… JUST KIDDING. Thanks for making this G.
Edit: I think it’s fair to view “To Live and Die in LA” in as simple as this: he dreamed of being a superstar in both Hollywood and the music scene and to do that one would need to be in LA just as a country star dreams of being in Nashville or theater kids hope to one day work on Broadway.

I mean can you blame ppl tho? Pac wasnt out here screaming “Oakland” or “Bay Area”.
He was always throwing up “West Side” in general, which was heavily tied with LA at the time. And when he signed with DR there’s no denying he wanted his character to be affiliated with the LA Lifestyle.
Imo Pac was a business man first and, just went with whatever was bringing him money and keeping him relevant at the time. It why he started his whole “Thug Life” and “Gangster” personas, despite never living those lifestyles beforehand.
Either way, I think ppl who know about the culture know where he’s from and where he got his career started. But can’t really blame the average listener or someone who isn’t deep into the culture for thinking of 2Pac as an LA rapper.

In Marin city he was engaging in street fights and was also selling drugs for a little then stop .. that's what thug life is, people who overcame all obstacles and making it ... 1. Warren G claims in an interview that he would have happily & eagerly signed Tupac if Suge hadn't signed him. Warren was ready for Pac & said he didn't have "expectations" for Pac to finish albums on a "deadline or schedule".
    2. Ras Kass claims that Tupac had him (Ras) specifically on a dream list of artists to work with on a project. Ras was (allegedly) at the very Top of Pac's list.
    3. A very notable Bay Area artist I think you left out was MC Hammer. Tupac & MC Hammer were inseperable before Tupac died. Tupac had many MANY close friends & acquaintances but my understanding is that Pac & Hammer were on the verge of becoming best friends before his death.
    4. I think Tupac & actor Tony Danza were actually pretty close as well. Tony Danza wrote letters to Tupac while Pac was in prison. An unusual friendship.
    5. Tupac's biological father is very much alive & well & Pac's mother is now being accused of lying to Pac all these years.
    6. I heard a rumor that Tupac Shakur actually lived in Atlanta, Georgia for a short while. Possibly & Maybe even a year or two. Rumors say that Pac actually had a house 🏠🏡 or a Mansion in Atlanta. Evidence seems to be pretty strong.
There's more tidbits about him but that's pretty much all I got for now. I support & agree virtually everything you said in this video. Quality content & very good information. I enjoyed the name drops of the other Bay Area Katz you mentioned. This is educational right here. Peace 🙏🕊️✌️, Love & Blessings. Salute Fam!

He caught all his cases for the most part in NYC. He did prison time in NY. Damn all his family is from NYC and Jersey. His memorable moments were in NYC the situation at Bryant park. He even told Greg Nice he missed NYC and Puerto Rican women. He still had his NYC accent. The majority of famous people come from NYC and Jersey do the math. No cares about California..
