I have an oc mandalorian character I'm currently working on he was born on Mandalore and as a young child was marooned on raxis prime after pirates attacked his parents ship. Unfortunately alot of my thrift stores are like you guys said very small selection of men's especially since I'm a taller guy. So most likely I have to order everything online. Although I did get some similar goggles but a bit different for him that you all have. You all made an excellent video here and keep up the amazing work. By the way I would love to see you guys review the ewok films at some point.
I've always wanted to make my own Star Wars outfit without having to start with raw material. I am not gifted like that, I can come up with an idea but can't bring it to life. Now I can without destroying the house and my hands. Thank you Grand Master Ashley.....this is the way.
This is super useful. Especially now that we know the Galactic Starcruiser is actually encouraging guests to be in full cosplay! EDIT: Girl, I totally relate on growing up poor and becoming a master at thrift store shopping. It's a necessity and a gift.
This made me so happy. I miss Thrift Store shopping and Swap Meets. It's like digging in your grandmas button box to look at all the buttons. It's so fun. You learn to be creative in the limitations of thrifting. Not just with outfits. I have seen people from Relaxshacks building tiny shacks using stuff like a mixing bowl for a window to a survivalist guy making a wood stove from pots and pans. Amazing creativity using found objects.
I want to create my own original outfit based on normal clothes, but with greeblies and patches and aurebesh! And I’m always amazed at how Ashley makes it look so easy when you guys go thrift shopping! I feel your pain,Bryan! Greetings from your Dutch/Aruban Flight Crew!🚀
Love ones like this, thrifty finds to Star Wars gems! With just a bit of combining certain pieces and a bit of modding, can transform basic blah to beautiful bounding!
Bryan you made my whole day better (at the moment I’m struggling with applying to university as a transfer student, so my stress is high to get all my classes done) but just the moment with your head in the vest? I was dying of laughter! It’s so great, thank you so much!
Haaaaa happy to help lol. I was telling Ash when I saw the arm hole, I just had the urge to stick my head in there lol. Stress is a part of life we for us all. Happy we can help you laugh a bit of it away today. Keep working hard and enjoying learning at university.
I just got off of work and Always Believe uploads a Star Wars style guide?!?!? Today just got even better!! Keep up the wholesome and creative content Ash and Bryan!! You guys are awesome!
My Disney vacation is coming up in 54 days and I have all 8 of my bounds together. Just have to dye a few things and I will be ready to rock and roll. Thank you for inspiring not only me but others to let their imagination play and really get into a character.
So I've never really done any bounding (as I've only ever been to WDW one time). This really helps for creating original characters, not just bounding. Thanks Ash and Brian!
thrifting is definitely time consuming but sooo rewarding~ agree 1000% with ash on trying to build with solid basics that work for multiple looks. i feel like looking for versatility also just helps you buy clothes that you'll wear more often in general. love these style guide videos and i'm always working on more star wars bounds for the rebellion/resistance!
Scouring second hand trading posts was my absolute favorite thing to do in the lead up to visiting Batuu. How does everything magically change to possible in universe stuff when you're hunting, right?! The minute I was done, it all became normal again. Haha!
Thank you guys for so much inspiration. I liked everything and my favorite was the “Darth Vader” dress. Super cool that your bag had money in it. LOL to your video references. I love your “second hand” approach.
Thank you Trish! And thank you for your Instagram posts. It was fun to hear the voice of our Flight Crew. 😁. The Vader dress is great. The red lights just turn on themselves when you wear it lol
@@AlwaysBelieve love to share your post, you guys really have such a cool vibe and great content. 😂 to the red light turning on when the Vader dress is on.
DEFINITELY saving this video! Our Galaxy’s Edge trip was canceled due to Covid but I’m thinking now that I need to do some thrifting so we can go Star Wars bounding when we’re finally cleared to travel again!! HUGE THANK YOU!!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💖💖💖
Really good, practical ideas. I spent years crafting and sewing cosplay outfits from scratch, this is much more realistic and effective! Few if any are going to truly care(or even know!) if you made it yourself, not if all the elements are pulled together well! Very cool video, thanks!
@@MrHarryGray We need a 'Scum and Villainy Cantina', if not a 'Galaxy's Edge'. 'Bradford Bounding' doesn't have the same ring to it, and it requires a different dress code to seem part of that world 😉
As soon as I saw the title of the video I send a link to my friend, who I’m planning on going to Disney with (as soon as possible and after covid has dialed down a bit more)! I wanna go thrifting with her SO BADLY! Unfortunately everything is still closed where I live 😭 hopefully it will be possible soon
I think I prefer "Thrifted" SW outfits for Rebels and Galactic Civilians, rather than anything "Official" There are just so many ways to express and create new character impressions out there. I think adding one signature official item is generally enough to place your character, then feel free to bound away. Another inspiring video, BTW!
I was definitely always super intimidated by thrift shopping, but all of your tips & suggestions & ideas have definitely helped, and now I can’t wait to go find some funky jackets and cool stitching patterns for my next Star Wars bound. Thanks so much as always!
I've been using the online consignment shop Thredup to build some Batuu bounds. It's not as quite as low priced as places like Goodwill, but I'm not comfortable going into shops yet. I had hoped to one day cosplay Rey and had resolved to get her Po-Zu boots for myself as a Christmas present, but I missed the Black Friday deal and now they're gone. I'll stay positive though, and hope one day I'll find some boots to do a proper cosplay. Thank you Ash and Bryan for making these videos for us!
All hail Ash: Queen of the Thrift Hunters! I'm surprised neither of you grabbed that jacket that looked like a skinned Fozzy Bear. Thanks again for taking us on an adventure 🖤
Love all the ideas of both light and dark side outfits for bounding on a budget. I would start off on the dark side I feel to go with my Vader loungefly and mood lately lol 😂
Another thrift store tip, call and ask what day they restock (usually a Wed or Thurs.) Also International army surplus stores are great for Finding Star Warsy stuff, in particular Austrian Army pants. They have plackets (flaps) over the pockets and buttons which is a thing you see a lot in Star Wars costumes. As for boots look for used riding or polo boots if you want a authentic look for a costume, for a bound a pair of harness boots is pretty close.
growing up going to thrift stores with my grandmama, this was such a delight to watch. I loved every second of this video 😭 I need to go thrifting ASAP as possible. I wanna start piecing together some sort of Batuu bound for myself. Amazing video as always(believe) 💙
Perfect timing for me to find you and this video. First, I really appreciate this. I have done this for my Steampunk outfit and a Newt Scamander also. I hadn't thought of a Star Wars outfit yet. BUT I'm off to Disney World in July. So I will for sure be thinking of how to do something Galaxy's Edge inspired but cool enough to not over heat. Oh my gosh, I'm getting even more excited! Thank. you. BTW I found you from a video from Ordinary Adventures when you all ran into each other.
Love the finds. I don't have any big thrift stores near me, the local charity shops have more items than clothes. I think London has some places to go to so when everything opens up and I've been vaccinated I'll have to check that out. As I end up buying new I try not to buy a lot and make it wearable for more than one occasion/event (with the exception of cosplay items). My UK recommendations are H&M - they often have good neutrals and I managed to pick up some great things in their sale before. Shoezone - they have the best choice for cheap shoes that you might want to customise. They have quite few sales and a mix of options. I picked up knee high boots for Jedi, Solo and X-Wing pilot cosplays and bounds and I also found a pair of ankle boots to customize for my Mando cosplay for £10. They have ankle boots for men too that would work great for rebellion outfits.
Thanks for turning me onto the "Closed on Sunday"' channel. When I heard the music from your video, I was like "I NEED TO FIND THAT MUSIC".. lol You guys are awesome!

I want to do a mando or boba spin off. What you showed in this video gives me a solid baseline. Post more of these videos! Love it!
