I was lucky enough to be in America in August of 2010 and walked into a Wal-Mart with a newly stocked Monster High section, as a creepy little spooky girl who also loved fashion dolls this was like my biggest dream come true💀✨ It was VERY rare for me to get dolls new, they'd ALWAYS have to be on clearance or a special holiday gift, but my parents could tell how much I clicked with these ghouls and knew they wouldn't be available in Canada for many months so I was able to get OG Lagoona🐟 From the minute I seen her on the box art I knew I wanted Clawdeen but she wasn't at this Wal-Mart. I didn't ask or expect anything but the next day when I woke up my parents said we were going to drive around to a bunch of stores to hunt for Clawdeen- I still get emo even thinking about it honestly😭💕 Sadly no stores had Clawdeen but my parents grabbed me OG Frankie so my Lagoona would have a friend🥹 Cut to Christmas of 2010 and Canada had FINALLY gotten Monster High dolls but sadly the same issue persisted and we couldn't find Clawdeen anywhere. I remember sooooo vividly sitting with my dad as he called all the Toys R Us's in a 5 hour radius and hearing them all say they didn't have any Clawdeens💔 I had basically lost hope of finding her, I even had this heart shaped photo frame I use to keep a picture of Clawdeen in, I was down bad💀 Anyways~ somehow, someway my parents were able to pull off the impossible and under the tree that year was my beautiful Clawdeen🥹 No matter how many dolls I own and no matter how many brands I adore my OG Clawdeen will FOREVER be my most favorite and prized doll, glue seepage and all💖

Same here! I've wanted to collect dolls for *ages* but my mom would never let me have dolls when I was younger because "Unrealistic Body Standards" or whatever. Also 14 here, I'm gonna be broke real soon..
I was back into Monster High I think 5 years ago. I remember being back in the community thanks to youtube, it was really comforting to me to see grown adult still being fan of dolls. I went back into collecting because my parents sold almost the entire collection I had as a young girl, because I was "old enough"... Anyway I remember the day Monster High posted on there Instagram for the first time since G2 I was SO EXITED ! I remember the exact moment and honestly I think this announce changed my life. I was alreadyrecollecting a bunch of different franchise when Rainbow High came out, and then I fell in this fashionable hell wich is doll collecting even more.
I'm so grateful to the Monster High team for offering us so much. I cried several time thinking about how much Monster High teached more about humanity than anyone when I was young. I still have my first Monster High doll (Dead Tired Draculaura), and one of my favorite Moster High doll wich is 13 Wishes Gigi, they mean so much to me.
And lastly I want to thank you, Jay, for the passion you give us almost every single day. Thank you for being who you are and sharing it with so much energy and sincerity. I know that's weird but your video are just a sunlight in a rainy day

Well, since they first came out, I fell in love with all of Monster High, but I couldn't bring myself to ask my parents to buy them for me, just looking from afar "was fine" so time went by and well, about 8 months ago I was watching Why do ghouls fall in love? and I thought "why not have a Clawd Wolf, I mean he's my favorite character" so I searched until I found one and bought it, and suddenly for my birthday my friends gave me a Clawd Wolf from the Sweet 1600 line and I was over the moon , and that wonderful feeling was the one that motivated me to get the rest of dolls that I wanted, I even made a list from which came 35 dolls that I really really wanted the most before having all the ones I want, and every time I receive a "new doll" it fills my heart of happiness, and at this moment I have 23 of that 35 dolls I wanted the most and I am very very extremely happy, I love Monster High!!🥰🥰🥰
I still watch your old MH collection video where everyone’s on the floor all the time, so I was super pumped for this! You’re honestly a large reason why I made sure to get the Picnic Casket as my first dolls. I came really late to the franchise so I only have 5 dolls and an in-progess custom at the moment, but man do I dream of shelves like these. Iconic. ;)

Hey, to help you with all the dust, you could invest in an air purifier. I bought one for my room, and now I don't have a dust problem! You can get some really cute ones, and they are often automatic.

I remember I didn't get into Monster High til roughly 13 Wishes, and my mum got me Twyla. I was so happy dispite her arm being stiff and wanted to get more.

One Drac I'm so sad I lost/ruined by siblings is the one that came with her car. I loved her even if it wasn't the actual Sweet 16 one. I will always love that Drac and Twyla.
I started collecting monster high (and dolls in general) with g3. It was back in October and i was debuting a new drag/burlesque act as Bride of Frankenstein and i thought the Frankie doll was so cute so i bought one and it was like ripping off a bandaid and now i can’t stop buying dolls lol

I remember that me and my parents were shopping at target and they let me and my brother roam around the toy section while they got groceries. I managed to reach up to a taller shelf attempting to get a barbie and I ended up grabbing a picture day draculara. Once my parents came back to grab me I asked with the politest tone I could muster if I could get her, they said sure. I also remember vividly opening her in the car (we left right as it got dark so the lighting wasn’t too good) and once we got home and I saw her in good lighting I realized that she was missing a hand. I was so upset that I started sobbing and hyperventilating uncontrollably, in hindsight, it was an autistic meltdown. I was diagnosed rather recently, so at the time my parents just thought I was being a kid and having a tantrum for no reason. Until ran into my parents room asking to go back to target to find her hand. (They quickly realized I was not gonna stop till I got her hand) And luckily for them it was right before the target closed. So my mom raced over to the target and we ended up exchanging her for the only other one of the doll they had. After vigorous inspection making sure she had both hands, I was content and my mom was just glad I finally stopped crying.

I hope they restock Reel drama and Creepreduction. Both of these did not reach to the Walmart near me. I remember when Monster high owned almost half of all most any store you went to. I loved this video.

I want to see the hair on that video and see how you did that. never listen to any haters on your dolls. just look at them...fucking gorgeous. literally!!

I tried using oxyclean on my Skelita and it worked really well. I took her head off and soaked her head along with some EAH and after a few soaks they all have amazing hair. I found taking the head off the best method as it allows for glue chunks to come out
Doesn't it dissolve the glue that actually keeps doll's hair in place inside the head?

I am from the U.K. & started collecting after M.H. disappeared/discontinued from our shops. I found most of my dolls from our equivalent to your THRIFT stores -! CHARITY shops. I have approx.100 MONSTER HIGH, (including WAY TO WONDERLAND & EVER AFTER HIGH from these marvellous emporia!
I am in the middle of unboxing all my MH dolls after moving to a larger house (my wife let me have the finished basement for my dolls), and wow, they are in various states of "please restyle and fix me" after being in storage for the last few months. I'm watching your videos for tips on fixing up older dolls, and I loved seeing your collection here!
Since I'm bopping around, I'm not sure how your doll room is coming, but if you have the wall space, the picture rails Ikea sells are perfect for holding dolls on stands. My wife helped me mount a whole long wall with the older picture rails (too narrow for anything but old G1 doll stands), and I still have tons of wall space left. I'm putting my "done for now" dolls on the picture rails as the others wait for their turn at the spa, LOL. I think the current picture rails are called Mosslanda, or something similar, and they hold stands for both Rainbow/Shadow High and Ever After High, as well as the stands everyone seems to get on Amazon.

I have only had two monster high dolls with glue seepage. I don't know if it depends where I live or if I was just lucky lol but most my monster highs are gone sadly but I'm rebuilding my collection and I want all the ones I had as a kid!!

a lot of the china 2011 schools out dolls don't have glue! so your frankie, clawdeen, and cleo probably don't have glue. though there are some later versions of the china dolls that do have it, but they aren't as common as the ones that dont.

I have started and stopped collecting so many times. I had times where I would sell off what I had in order to do Christmas for my girls when they were growing up...single mom life. My most recent start was fall of 2021. My youngest was getting ready to move to another state and I was sad. Dolls have always brought me joy and I found the 24k DJ complete family set brand new at goodwill so she started it. Then my kiddo bought me several other OMG dolls for my birthday. After she moved I started getting Asian Barbies because they look like my girls who are part Asian. And now I collect Shadow high, OMG, Barbie, and G3 Monster High. I have a couple thrifted G1 monster high and Rainbow high as well. And I have some of my youngest daughter's early 2000s Barbies that I kept as well. Sorry for the long message but you said you liked to hear our collecting stories...lol!

I used to have a like almost all the basics of monster high dolls when I was around ten including 13 wishes Draculaura and sweet screams Frankie. Every year for Christmas I would always ask people for dolls and so I would get them until my mom made me give them away. My favorite doll was sweet screams Frankie I still today think she was one of the most gorgeous monster high dolls ever owned and I miss her honestly:(. But yeah I had a few bratz dolls, ever after high, tinkerbell dolls etc. I wanted to keep them all for my future child:(

I went into monster high in 2011,but i only got to have two dolls because i was ashamed to wish for dolls and so i also Sold my 2 on the flea marjet for 5$ wach, and one month ago i got back into monster high and now i have nearly 30 dolls i am so in love with them, i spent to much money 😭

Honestly so glad we have g3 now because all the glue seepage and crazy resale prices make collecting g1 so annoying 😭😭 I started collecting monster high around New Years of 2013 (sometime between Christmas and my dads death (January 6th - not relevant to the story that’s just how I remember because I remember I had one doll before my dad died) we had like gift cards from Christmas I think and me and my mom went to this like, pop up shop toys r us in the mall for the holidays, I believe the first time we went there was before Christmas and I went and looked at all the Barbie stuff because I had a lot of Barbie, but then we went back after Christmas (because we had the gift cards I’m pretty sure) and I, for whatever reason, noticed monster high dolls for the first time. I wanted draculaura because I thought she was the main character and at first picked ghouls rule draculaura, then my mom told me to get a cheaper one so I picked skull shores draculaura. She is very nostalgic to me because of her being my first mh doll. Then a little while later my mom took me to target to look for more dolls and we got scaris abbey and deuce. I remember we would always go to target to get more dolls lol. Unfortunately about two years later I gave away all my dolls because I thought they were too girly.

Oh my first ever monster high doll was actually a two pack, I was literally at toys r us with my mom and I saw the monster high dolls all on display (and that is probably the most magical image in my head till this day) and I remember I wanted one so badly but as a closeted little gay boy he scared to ask for dolls, but my mom was like yeah why not go pick one out…. But then she was like “how about a boy one” then my little heart kinda shattered cuz I wanted a Draculaura doll soooo badly but it all ended up fine because I picked out the Deuce Gorgon and Gil Webber two pack, and since they were boy dolls my mom was ok with it, but little did she know that Deuce Gorgon was my first ever crush… and Gil was there but whatever😭 but one day we sold them off to goodwill as most little kids MH dolls had to face that fate. But now I collect them, I only have 12 dolls but I am still trying to find a Deuce and Gil two pack to replace my first dolls ever lmao

I used to have a lot of dolls as a kid and obviously played with them a lot so all the accessories where in boxes somewhere. I brought them with me when I moved countries and when I moved houses a few years after that I got rid of them because I just felt kind of guilty and like a hoarder for keeping the dolls without displaying them or playing with them. I regret getting rid of them because they were all G1 and both monster high and ever after high were my childhood but I'm in a better place than I was at the time and I'm hoping to collect some again. I've always wanted the 2013 Webarella so she's first on my list.

i used to have so many buut i lost catrine, got rid of casta and lorna, i had a dead tired or maybe they were creepover lagoona and clawdeen i think idk where they went. and once when i was younger i think for my birthday i got a bagfull of acsessories for my ghouls and i had a fashion monster head i could style, and i always get a lot of cool new ghouls from my grandma! and i have a suitcase for frankie, clawdeen and rochelle, i had a voltageous frankie and i have a electrified draculuara and sylvia, i had a great scarier reef toralie, two shrikwrecked lagoonas, a cleo and the new g3 cleo, a mal doll and a rainbow dash

My first MH was dawn of the dance Frankie back in 2010. I was 10 years old and I played a lot with her and left her on my shelf with direct sunlight 😓😓 I had to literally throw her in the trash years later and I regret that so much😭😭😭

I have never seen one of these dolls in person and I just ordered one on Amazon, some r really pricey! I'm excited to see if they r the nice quality like the omg and rainbow high dolls, barbies feel so plastic so I'm hoping the monster high dolls have some weight to them.

tbh . at 2012 I was a kid. AND I LOVED MONSTER HIGH. the only regret I have is that I was never that kid who didn't mess their hair and clothes and take off their hands... cz now I have half of them naked and the other half have crazy hair.. and if I wanted to get more dolls id have ti buy them and they r so expensive .... my only regret as a kid.. it is sad..

I gotta say, I don’t think its right to have in and out of box versions of dolls that were produced so very limitedly. Its like going to a party and getting seconds before everyone has had the chance to grab a plate. If these were older or if they had released them more it wouldn’t be a problem, but so many of us wanted them but weren’t able to get them because of scalpers and people who grabbed multiples. Kind puts a bad taste in my mouth. I know some people are gonna disagree and say people should be able to collect them and spend their money however they want. But if you love these dolls, then you should want want other people to be able to love them too. No hate, just felt like it needed to be said.

I am a relative new collector. I collect the dolls in the boxes (I don't care about resell value. I just think that the boxes add to the art of monster high). But since I am new to this i need to know if the glue-thing happens regardless. Does anybody know?
