I have the same question.
Installing a power extension cord through a wall cavity is a violation of electrical the in most states in the US & homeowners insurance would have issue with such an installation as well. Thoe "brush plates are for low voltage cables only, such as HDMI or coaxial.

(2) Where run through holes in walls, structural ceilings, suspended ceilings, dropped ceilings, or floors
(3) Where run through doorways, windows, or similar openings
(4) Where attached to building surfaces
Exception to (4): Flexible cord and cable shall be permitted to be attached to building surfaces in accordance with the provisions of 368.56(B)
(5) Where concealed by walls, floors, or ceilings or located above suspended or dropped ceilings
(6) Where installed in raceways, except as otherwise permitted in this Code

It seems like my Samsung TV has mounting holes but those holes require inserts before the bolts can be screwed in. Did yours need the same?

Same, I've just ordered some M8 x 45 mm screws but they require a spacer between the bracket and the TV

Big tip, if you are ever going to move, do not cut that tv box up unless you're wanting to spend money on a new one.
not helpful at all.....idk why but yours came with "WAYYYY more" screws....i got an older mount, only came with 8 screws. whats tyhe length of your screws>????????????????? i need an answer in the next 6 hours My 65" Samsung TU7000 needs longer screws......in tyher back of it
