I did when I recently saw John for the first time, supporting Elbow. He was back to his golden locks. Going to see John again in August, in Edinburgh. Hopefully Budgie will still be with him then. Apparently Steve Severin lives in Edinburgh too.
Listened to this when it was on TV some months back....never heard of JG at that time but have since bought and listened to a few albums, some of his lyrics are truly wonderful, as is his voice...and yes, Budgie...top drummer and drives this song along brilliantly.
I am literally blown away. Recently discovered this man.. How could I live without him? And btw... Is that fucking Budgie??? He looks great.. And wow... He puts everything in to this freaking performance!
Simon Heggum do you know what "literally" means? It means the action you describe actually happened to you, not figuratively happened to you. That means you're claiming this video actually physically blasted you from the point you were sitting/standing. Either that or it actually exploded you and you are now dead. Is that what you're saying?
Brilliant! 'Some very astute songwriting from JG on an album which includes some "Emersonesque" '70s style keyboard playing. Very original music, love it.
It's a combination rare these days. You can find it from Morrissey also. They write such sad songs but also funny ones and most of the times both at the same time.
first time ever hearing john grant singing & im impressed, this song is simply fantastic.
derrrr hasnt anyone recognised budgie from the banshees on drums..fabulous drummer..all round cool dude..ace!!

Jazz-fusion progressive-rock synth-pop ... classically-educated gay-bear love-song!
Lovely. I love the chorus. Live performance, rarely seen on TV these days. Sinéad O´Connor also performs live, no playback.

Really can't tell whether or not he's a comedy musician because his lyrics sound funny at times
