The Mead Family Story

Brooke and Tim Mead were faced with the unthinkable when their daughter, Audrey, was born 17 weeks early due to complications from pre-eclampsia. At just 11 ounces, Audrey faced incredible odds from the moment she was born.
During the 6 months that Audrey was in the NICU, Brooke and Tim visited RMHC Michiana nearly every day. The meals and respite care provided by RMHC Michiana allowed the Meads to be part of Audrey’s healthcare team in a way they simply couldn’t have been without the services RMHC Michiana provided for them.
Miraculously, Audrey is the smallest baby born in the Beacon Children’s Hospital NICU that survived. We are honored to feature the Mead family tonight, and to show how family-centered care supports life-changing outcomes for families with hospitalized children.
