  • Doesn't every suburban two car garage have multiple flow benches and a full on Mopar NASCAR Cup car parked inside?
We dropped off the big chunks of our one horse per cube 2 Barrel 318, and took a quick tour of the legendary David Vizard s home shop.

Yeah, but giving money to such an evil institution doesn't change anything. St Jude's does the reassignment stuff on CHILDREN. They are literally mutilating kids. C.H.O.P. is doing it. Boston's children's hospital is doing it. This is EVIL. They should all be arrested.

Would be cool to try just a stock 360 iron spread bore intake before any off the shelf bolt ons.
Like you mentioned in other videos, basically if this were back in the 60-70s when there wasn't many bolt on available, what could you mix and match to make power.

Reworking any factory 4 barrel intake can give you the best of both worlds! You get to keep the low end torque that the factory intake is s good at producing while coming pretty close to a mild aftermarket dual plane with the higher rpm horsepower.

I started off as a mechanic in the '80s and loved it. But everyone pushed me into college. After working in Broadcasting and IT, I soon dreaded every working day. Last year I took a job as a mechanic for classic British restoration shop and LOVED every single day. (I'm a damn good mechanic too, so that helps) but... the commute was an hour and more each way. 100 miles a day adds up at $5.75 a gallon. So I got back into Broadcast IT with an 8 minute commute, but I hate each day again. Classic car engineering is pure joy made from tactile bits-- not screens. Enjoy life... pick up a tool and fix something!!

A 340 made 275hp 340ft pounds of torque. The 894 heads depending on flow bench’s 210-215 they flow at 450. Some of the best 318 heads were 210 ported at 500 with 1.78 valves

    Great video as usual…
When it comes to power testing, after the testing of the 2 barrel intake and 2G carb please use a ported factory 340 or 360 four barrel manifold and a Thermoquad or Quadrajet before you test the aftermarket pieces. That would be very interesting and still keep the spirit of the factory components testing.

Matt, keep in mind the cylinder heads will have the intake ports used on the 273/318 style head. I'm not sure if Andy will port match them to the larger 340/360 size so as to retain the velocity found in the smaller ports. Port mis-match could be an issue with the larger intake manifold. Could sell tickets for $10 each or 5 for $40. Depending on the goal, maybe set a limit on the number of tickets available. Say 5,000 tickets, thats between $40k to $50k for the charity. The limited number tickets would motivate people to buy quickly so they don't miss out.

I work at the Auto Zone. We have been asking in the month of November for customer's to give to St Judes! So next time your viewers go get some parts ask them to give a little!

Maybe auction the engine off for Saint judes? And possibly have a donation setup as well so people who know they can't afford it still be able to pitch in, just a thought. Love what you guys are doing!

    found the 1969 - 318
    moved the tachometer faster .
the conrod was smaller and copper coated , with casting #2406782 .
you can upgrade the cap bolts , but then your typical power increase subjects these baby rods to stretch

When your done with the 318 you can put in anything and talk to Mecum auctions. They will sell it for you and all money will go to st. Judes. They are awesome when it comes to supporting Android charities. David my heart goes out to you and your wife for your loss, and hope this will to mend the parts of you that were lost. Nothing can replace your loss, but time will lighten the load you carry and hurt will get easier to deal with, I promise you. . Your incredible and an inspiration to so many hang in there. Much respect and admiration from west coast take care of yourself and your wife. Bless you both - James

Derek from Vice Grip Garage just did a revive & drive on an old Ford pickup with a very tired 318 in it...there's your customer for this thing when it's finished. Dude's got deep enough pockets these days to make a decent donation for the engine, and enough of an audience to give your charity some serious attention..
    Just a thought..

Great video! Tony, I missed the live chat. Can you upload it to your channel? I'd love to watch it. Thanks!
