I'm curious how well your resins weather UV light over time, any discolourations ? Also as someone who spends time on a metal lathe ... your bare hands so close to those epoxy 'stringers' triggers me in a major way even though there is probably no risk. You wood guys are crazy !

In the second one, your green flowers look like a mini tree. If you look at the whole thing in that respect, that is one giant butterfly! Cool!

Shame about your first butterfly cast but I much preferred the delicate yellow butterfly. The finished look of the little yellow butterfly wings look very ethereal, angelic even. Gorgeous Ben, well done. Would love to see more videos like this.

Sucks the first one didnt turn out 😔hopefully you can find another butterfly like that one n try again. I think th reason your flowers changed colors was because of the blue dye in your base. Maybe next time try dipping the flowers or the base in resin to seal the dye in? Maybe paint a thin layer of resin over one or the other?

Wow ben, I do truly love watching your channel, you show us every project is an opportunity to learn, and not just the ones that go awry. It's awesome how you show us the failed projects, what may have caused the problem, and your next attempt. I was kind of bummed when you said the flower had turned green however I absolutely love how it had changed. With a little bit of natural sunlight I love how that second project transformed into something even more beautiful. Thank you Ben and I hope you never stop creating truly magnificent pieces!

Beautiful result! It's so cool to see both successes and failures documented as well as troubleshooting.
Also, about the flowers, I know certain purple and pink dyes will fade with exposure to uv light, maybe that's what mad your flowers go blue/green.
I'm a cake decorator and if we leave anything periwinkle where the sun can hit it the exposed surface can turn almost grey.

I've worked with epoxy resins in building and repairing boats, and I love seeing the more creative side of resins. Been tempted to try to make a resin casting of a few cleared and stained fish from my biology lab that are currently held in glycerine, just not sure how to proceed. Mostly worried about the moisture content. So happy I found your channel!
