Just found your UA-cam channel from tiktok and I think I found my new favorite golf channel. You appeal to the average golfer so much more than these other channels. The real life reviews are great. Keep up the good work and the channel will explode this year!
Great video guys, I currently play the JPX Forged, by far the best set of irons I have ever played. I dabbled in the pool of irons and the 225’s are amazing looking but you already know the forged are more forgiving for those not so good days, that’s why the forged will stay in the bag! See ya next time, looking forward to the next video
I am a 20 handicapper, who obliviously learned to play golf on Titleist 680 MBs for the past four years. My first 2 years I had no idea I was hitting a more challenging club. 🤦♂️ I love how the ball just checks every time I hit green , but I know a cavity would help me a ton with miss-hits.
Just received my 225's last Monday, and played them for the first time Wednesday. They feel amazing (when struck well), and the aesthetics are amazing. More club than I currently need, but hoping to grow into it. With the stronger loft, it goes 15 yards further than my TM PSI's that I'm coming from. Most beautiful iron out there IMO.
I've played Mizuno for few years and was waiting for the new forged. I currently play the MB18SC's and love them with the ST190 woods. I was thinking Pro 223 which is the natural successor for mine but I cant get my eyes off the 225. Like you guys I would love the 221, but playing in the cold - Scotland - I doubt my hands could take the misshits !! Great show - my first time on your channel and now subscribed
Great video guys. I just went through a fitting process and ordered the 923 Forged. I almost did a split set with the Tour’s but I’m 15 hcp and/60 yo and needed a little forgiveness. I had the Forged weakened by 2 deg to keep my 7-iron in the 175 yd range, fitted with Project X stiff rifle shafts. Like you, not quite ready for the Mizuno Pro’s yet.
On my third set of Mizuno irons. I’m a 66 year old 15 handicap and I play the JPX 919 Hot Metals 7-GW along with the 4-6 Fli Hi hybrids . The irons are excellent but don’t discount the hybrids; they are fantastic! I’m a lifelong golfer and a serious gear head so I’ve played all the major manufacturers. The JPX Hot Metal irons are as good as anything on the market in the game improvement category.
Thanks for the review, guys. Your reviews make much more sense to me because you guys represent the average golfer like me. Keep up the good work. I'd love to buy a black Mizuno hat from you.
You guys should do a video about iron shafts. As an average golfer I had no idea how much of an impact the different shafts have. I was fit for the TT dynamic gold X100’s and I’m thinking where have you been all my life! Also as an average golfer, I have no idea what wedges I need with all the different bounce and grinds. Videos are awesome, keep ‘em comin!
Yeah, show the process of buying stock, measure all of the irons on the quad, then get a fitted shaft on all of the new irons. Curious to see between 2 or more players buying the same irons off the shelf then fitted with new fitted shafts.
Ordered the HM Pro 4 weeks ago....should be here soon.....Wish I could of hit the HM Forged in my fitting. I currently hit the 825 Pro Forged....At 65 I went to get whatever I hit the best...Hit all the best lines....Mizuno came out on top. I really miss Denver golf....10% rocks...In KC it's probably a -5% with the humidity
For sound quality to reduce echo, you can put some sound dampeners on the wall, or run your audio through adobe AI voice enhancer. Great vid! Love to see the clubs
So I was 15 handicap and I got the limited edition 225 , love them…and now I’m a 11.2 handicap! These irons are amazing, yes they are butter, and yes if you miss hit it, it tells you. But dam do they fly off the face !
Been watching your videos for a few months now. Finally hit that subscribe button. Great videos, great content made in amateur point view. Keep up the good work 🎉
Went to a golf galaxy for a club fitting to check my clubs I bought in April Sim 2 Max. Was told I needed a stiff shaft. So I hit a mizuno Hot Metal with a stiff shaft on it. I left the Sims there and went home with the Hot Metal Pros.
Spin rates absolutely say a lot. I don't expect you guys to know everything because your handicap is so high, but it says a lot. is my shot going to spin back if I go too far or the spin off the green if short? is it going to hit and then continue to roll out too far because it's spin rate is too low. also what shafts are you using?
Yeah we agree, when getting fit for irons spin rate is Essential. But spin rate can be changed so much based on Shaft choice, loft on ordering, etc. You make a very important point so thank you for sharing 🙌🏼
Love the 225s. Not sure how I can pass on them but I just hit the 923 Tours the other day and they are by far the best feeling irons I’ve ever hit in my life. Trying to talk myself into bagging them over the 225 right now. The looks are incredible and the feel is imo the best irons they’ve ever made, but the 225 has everything. Tough choice right now.
Glad I stumbled upon your channel. I love the show premise and the idea that not every golf evaluation should be done by a 1 handicap with a 120 mph swing speed. I just ordered the HMPs and wondering if I missed an opportunity with the 225s
Love that forged model ! Been playing with the 225 and they are beauty’s and feel nice but I’m struggling with the shorter clubs for some reason. Sweet looking hat by the way
Solid video and review. Just want to point out though that it’s not the hot metal line but actually the JPX line and the Pro line. I know it a technicality but still worth pointing out
You guys are getting quite a variety of clubs in now and all those brands have great reviews Out of the mizuno, ping and pxg irons which ones would you say have the best feel and look standing over them
@@embersgolf thanks Im pretty much am leaning toward the pxg, when I watched your video it reminded me in the early 2000’s I had set mx23 mizuno and they felt and sounded great when u hit them pure
I'm just transitioning from JPX921 Hot Metal Pros to the 225s. It was a tight choice with the 223s and Forged and I can't say looks didn't sway me. But very happy with my choice so far. I'm an improving 14HCP.
I love the way the 225's look 😍 We're glad you are happy in your decision. Hope you have a good season Rob and continue to drop that handicap 🙌🏼 Thanks for the support 🎉
We sell the most of the Hot Metal Pro's here in store but we try and let ones hit the whole line up if they are capable. You cant go wrong with mizuno fortunately. Let us know how you like them when they come in.
My two favorite things, barbecue grills and golf clubs. I was waiting for some data results at the end. What happened? Also, I thought you were playing the pxg GEN 5 have you officially switched over to Mizuno?
The data was all over the place cause of loft changes so we didn’t include it. I played one round of hot metals for me. Tayte is still playing Gen 5. Jury is still out until we finish all of 2023 testing
FYI: The "JPX923-Forged" and "JPX923-Tour" are in the "JPX923" category, but NOT in the "Hot Metal" category. The irons in the "Hot Metal" category are the "JPX923-HL", the "JPX923" and the "JPX923-Pro".
Love your channel. Just subscribed! I like the way you guys explain each model and go through details that we hackers actually care for in products we want to play. Now, I am a 30 year old, 10 handicapper (lowest has been 6) which game is always fluctuating, one day I can shoot under 70 and the next in the upper 80's. I am always changing equipment because of this and I think that affects my game a lot. I can hit 300 plus yard Drives and my putting is good, wedge and iron game is a mess, with irons I hit it all over the face, even shank it often. Anyway, what iron set would you guys recommend? I think I need forgiveness on off center strikes but I prioritize looks and feel above everything else. I don't have much time to practice and fitting is no option where I live. Currently i230 in the bag...
I think the i230 is for sure your problem. Some players on tour are playing that club. If you like feel. I would go srixon Z5 irons, we just tested them yesterday. They are forged so still give great feedback, but much more forgiving. We can get you a set if you can’t get fitted?
@@marcoscado5478 at a 10. You can play the 225. Tayte is a 10 and that’s what he’s getting. Even me at a 15 am thinking about 225. The feel is much better then the hot metals. We can get you any of them though. So far in our testing Mizuno and srixon make the best mid handicap irons in the game.
@@embersgolf Your video made me do some thinking. It kinda sucks that fittings only use 1 iron. I hit these about 5-10 yards longer than my old clubs. The 4i might make my 3h redundant... also I've had a gap issue from PW to wedges and this will make it worse. I'm going to really have to test them out, but I can possibly see myself delofting 1-2 degrees.
I have JPX 800 pros which are forged and still love them. Really looking forward to trying these irons. Really in need of new wedges and hope to get the new S23's
Hi guys, first time I got to watch one of your reviews, while it's quite different from others it's still comprehensive and very entertaining. I really enjoyed your whole thought process to get to a final choice. Keep up the good work! Still playing 919 forged but entertaining the 923 forged. The 923 forged have stronger lofts though... I know I could have them bended 2 degrees weak but that would also increase bounce by the same amount, which is already higher than my 919F so that would be a big swing in bounce compared to what I'm used to. What are your thoughts about this? PS : 225 not an option for me as I'm a leftie.;(
