    Thanks Andy. The Spanish brought Cagayan warriors with them when they occupied Northern Taiwan. If only there were records on how they interacted with the natives in Taiwan.

    Ibanags were one of the major ethnic groups of 16th century Luzon as mentioned by the Spaniards. Sad to see them being smaller in number today and basically replaced by Ilocanos. But it's good that there still Ibanags today who still promote their culture and language, and at least they don't promote lies and fabrications unlike some "cultural advocates" from other ethnic groups.

      Kinda curious to know... what are those fabrications?

    If I remember f,z and v are rare native phonemes in Philippines

    • @fluffymumu7102
      @fluffymumu7102 Рік тому +1

      Yes, f, z, and v are omitted in Central Philippine languages. However, Northern Luzon languages, Danao, Bilic, and Obu languages in the south have retained these phonemes in their respective languages, as these ethnic groups have remained uncolonized throughout Philippine history.

    Marahil ay kapareho lang ng mga ibanag at mga ilocano ang kultura namin na mga taga cordillera noong unang panahon lalo na sa kalinga-apayao at abra ngunit nakalimutan nyo lang ang inyong CULTURAL IDENTITY kasi nasakop kayo ng mga spanish ng 300 years samantalang dito saamin sa highland ay WE ARE FREE AS A BIRD cos we are stronger than the spaniards

    • @silangangbahagi9267
      @silangangbahagi9267 2 роки тому +2

      Ibanang ako, pero naiintindihan ko ang nais mong ipa-hiwatig saamin, kayong mga taga cordillera ay hinde nasakop ng mga dayuhan, di lang dahil sa tapang ninyo kundi dahil sa geographical advantage rin, samantalang kaming mga ibanag na naninirahan sa lowland ay walang natural na kasangga di tulad ng mga bundok ninyo. Dahil rito, halos mawala ang kultura namin, at naging minority pa kami sa mismong nitibo naming lupa (Cagayan Valley) sapagkalipas ng panahon dahil sa mga ilokano. Atsaka skl ang ibig sabihin ng "Kalinga" sa Ibanag ay "Kaaway"🤣
