Why do prosecutors give these criminals deals?!?! It's actually frustrating to see this happen, over and over again!
They offer deals in hopes of getting the full story and closure for the victim or victims family. It also makes their job easier because they don’t have to search as hard for evidence. That’s why lawyers encourage people to take a plea deal and plead guilty because if they don’t, depending on the crime, they could get double or maximum sentences. Courts literally don’t have enough time for every case to go to trial so it helps them out too. Speeds up everything and gives the person incentive to help the detectives out.
