- Stuart Pearce talk king about the great Brian Clough and how he handled a situation involving Pat Jennings #brianclough #Stuartpearce #nottinghamforest #darts
Home internationals as it was 1975, Pat Jennings, playing for Northern Ireland from Newry playing Wales at Wrexham My grandfather and my father went to the hotel just outside outside Chester and they met Pat Jennings and it just happened to be where our family came from called Forkill, which is not too far from Newry and Pat Jennings was an absolute gentleman, the old school with pure pure class guy.
The story was good but the commentary was a bit unnecessary.
Neither of these guys would survive in the modern world. That level of honesty ... Pat has always been a hero here in Ireland and Brian, well they took away the mould when they made him. A true original and as anti-PC as you can get.
A very true statement mate, it is a completely different game and world we now live in but both great men 👍🏻
Brilliant.
Brian Clough did appreciate excellence in goalkeeping.
Totally agree 👍🏻👍🏻
What about the story of the two young lads he looked after...now that is a story, it will ultimately break your heart, but it tells you that Brian Clough is on another level...

Brian Clough was an absolute legend of the game , today’s professional footballers would not be able to handle him 😅😂
A very true statement mate, back in those days the man was a god 🙂👍🏻
Well the Leeds divas couldn't handle him either. So their failure was likely everyone else's fortune.
He was an Alcoholic and it was kept Quiet like Ferguson. And thats ACCEPTABLE ?
The reason why footballer’s would not be able to handle him today, is because they’re too mardy.
You could only imagine the carnage if a manager (or anyone) did that in this day and age
They do not make them like him anymore that a for sure 👍🏻🙂
... Glad you mentioned the Importance of the Letter Pat Jennings had.... PHEW!... 😂😂😂😂😂 1:06
How we could do with Brian Clough today. Can you imagine his thoughts on VAR.
My guess is that he would be none to impressed 👍🏻😂
Both Clough and Howe probably played together in the same England team.
What a wonderful story!
It was one I enjoyed also 🙂👍🏻
Definitely tongue in cheek, nice compliment from cloughy
The dart thrower was I believe a guy called Paul Scarott. A complete nutcase. His dart-throwing days are long gone. He is now 6ft under. I worked with a school friend of his.
Brian Clough would have made a great manager of the England team.I remember him slapping a fan round the ear for invading the pitch.
He was definitely 1 of a kind that is for sure mate 👍🏻🙂
Bloody Brilliant !
Indeed they don’t make them like those two anymore 👍🏻😂
Brilliant, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it and hope you have a great day 🙂👍🏻
What planet do these nuggets come from i love regional accents it what makes the uk great. Keep winding them up
Brilliant thats when footballers where men. 😊🇬🇧
Indeed they were mate, completely different breed to nowadays 👍🏻 enjoy your weekend 🙂
@@Sportingstories And they played on beaches ⛱️ 🤣
Brilliant anecdote an apology but delivered with great humour. Extremely unlikely to happen in these days of unrealistic political correctness which of course is completely remote from the Real World. Abuse & banter is not unusual for goalkeepers to ignore. But throwing stuff at them, just bloody stupid, I was a goalkeeper & my uncle also he told me the worst place for the throwing objects was Airdrie’s former ground, Broomfield he had half bricks thrown at him, WTF. 😂.
Being a goal keeper is definitely the toughest position on the pitch in my opinion, you also easily get the most abuse 😳 thanks for your thoughts 👍🏻
The anecdote's a little lost on you if you think he was being deadly serious.
Totally different from anyone else!
Really? Was the first version I have heard so would be interesting to hear it from another perspective 👍🏻
Why is Danny talking throughout the story
what a legend
Indeed he was mate one of a kind 🙂👍🏻
Brilliant
Brilliant 😂😂😂
Why is this guy running this story
Hush!
Seems apt somehow that Cloughie's face ended up resembling a dartboard towards the end
This story encapsulates the absolute genius of the man a true legend in every respect of the word COYR
Stuart’s stories are about as good as his footballing skills .
Bang average ❤
You're talking about one of the greatest left-backs of all time!
@@peterturner6041 being a left back is the easiest job in football along with a right back
You are obviously a top class footballer@@RoyChadwick51
If there is or was a god his name is Brian clough
