As usual you are so incredibly encouraging...your voice is so calming and reassuring. You're sharing the various pen types and how you started....I've ordered some. can't wait to try this and include it with my cards!
Kristina, I am so glad you shared the scripture! My writing has always been awful, but I can usually free-hand something creative. I recently found a book at a garage sale demonstrating calligraphy pens, nibs, and styles. I haven't done a thing with it, but I would like to. My maternal grandmother and many older men and women I have known had beautiful penmanship. It's a shame this next generation won't be able to write cursive at all. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Thanks! I've always struggled with trying to make just the right calligraphy, and you just shared that it is ok to embellish our own style. Thanks!
I loved how you made that look so easy. I have been inspired to decorate a few envelopes after I watched you. It wasn’t as easy as I imagined, but I am determined to keep trying. I love your beautiful handwriting.
Oh, thank you! I have loved hand lettering since I could hold a pencil! I love your lettering and am going to start practicing with a brush pen. I love your videos!
Beautiful writing! I used to practice my writing and calligraphy all of the time many years ago but have lost my penmanship with all of this e-technology. 😢. I miss writing and I love the look of calligraphy. I have done wedding invitations in the past (what a chore!). You have inspired me to find my hand again! 😊
So pretty, Kristina! Years ago I taught myself Gothic calligraphy and I copied my favorite poetry to teach myself. It made it more entertaining, and when I was done I had a lovely journal with my favorite poems in it :-)
stellar!! I self taught when I was younger with a calligraphy set that was originally my older brothers. I love this and had not thought about using my Wink of Stella markers!! Thanks for your inspiration. Always enjoy your videos!
Thanks for upload! I love the calligraphy styles and tips you show in the video. Hopefully you can update more calligraphy tutorial videos because I want to master my skills.
It's just beautiful, Kristina. I learned hand lettering years ago in art school using a paint brush and India ink, and haven't touched it in years. This looks like so much fun to use a pen. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to have to pick up a brush marker and give it a try. Thank you for the inspiration. Take care, Kim :)
Thank you soooo much for this video! I have been doing classic calligraphy with nibs and ink for a very long time. Seeing this new surge in brush lettering I was trying to adapt and having a rough time of it but you explained it so well, now I get it! Off to do some lettering! TFS ~ Lisa from 2 Magpies
Your writing is beautiful! I just started getting an interest in improving my writing. I bought a couple of ink wells and modern calligraphy tools to get started! More writing videos!
I love doing calligraphy especially copperplate but even though I've taken a class in brush lettering I've never been able to master it. You've given me the incentive to try again. Thanks
Great video! I also love script lettering/calligraphy but have always been apprehensive to try it... you make it look so easy, now I'll have to give it a try. Thank you:)
Thanks for sharing this!! Very cool!! I'm obsessed with handwriting as well and tried calligraphy years and years ago but I got too frustrated with it. I was like 14 tho so no wonder I quit because of frustration. I've never tried writing with a brush marker like that before so I think I may give that a try!! Thanks Kristina!! :)
that's the first video i've ever watched about brush lettering (to be honest: i don't know how i got here...) and it's the reason why i've ordered a six pack of tombow markers. they arrived today and - whoa, that's really difficult! it looks so easy when you do your writing! i think i've got to practice a looot ;) but it's real fun, thanks for bringing me into brush lettering :)
Hi Kristina, I just wanted to thank you for uploading this video. It was so useful for me. I do so much better when I see someone else do something and this has really helped me feel comfortable with my calligraphy skills. You were very helpful and informative. You have a new subscriber/fan! :)
I discovered you by accident today & I am so thrilled!!! Love your videos, you make it all look so easy! LOL Beautiful hand writing! Thanx for the inspiration! ♥ Khara
Oh my god! I love this! There's something so satisfying about writing an envelope perfectly.. I'm told I have beautiful handwriting but I can't do it carefully, so maybe I've got to practise..?
This is really interesting to watch and it feels so relaxing watching you. You do have a very stylish hand writing. I'd love to see more of your doing this. teach us please. pat
Gaaaaargh!!! How can anything that looks so easy be so hard??? 😅 Great video! Have watched it like five times, and will probably do it again - while I am struggling with my own crooked style... 😝
Thanks for this vid! Kinda into brush calligraphy lately. I bought "Kuratake" and "Pentel brush pen" few weeks ago. After it ran out of ink I refill them with "Speedball Super Black Waterproof India Ink" using my syringe. For some reason after few writing practice the result went kinda bad. It looks dry and not much ink flowing. The cartridge is full. I think there's a clog. Does it happen to you? And when you refill the cartridge what ink do you use?
i usually have a cardboard backing per paper i do so it doesnt bleed through to the next page... i just insert it after the sheet im working on so it bleeds through to that cardboard (which i re-use every time).... i hope thats helpful... :)
this was incredibly helpful! my friend recruited me to address all of her wedding invitations and i was going to use ink and nibs for the calligraphy but i think i might give the brush tip markers a go! one question though, would you just use a normal eraser to erase the pencil lines from the envelope after the ink dries or is there a special tool i should look into getting?
Thank you soo soo much for doing thing this. I have been searching the web for vids like this and have always wanted to try calligraphy. I hope this will be a regular series. Could you recommend a pkg of markers specifically made for this??
Thank you so much for sharing your talent and thank you even more for not being afraid to share God's Word your way. Every believer has a ministry and I love the way My Lord uses you.
I love how you can be creative on your envelopes. Here in Germany you have to fill in the adress and name and everything in the same order everytime and it has to be dark on a light background and things linke that.
Can I just say how much I loveeee that you dotted the u in Mcguire. LOL Shows that even pros make little booboos sometimes and it made me smile. I'd still send it that way, I'm sure Jennifer wouldn't mind. hahahahaha TFS, Kristina. You're awesome!
Love your handwriting. Rather than letting Copic (or other) markers use up a second page, one could cut down one of those super thin plastic cutting mats from the kitchen section, and slip it behind the top sheet (the sheet one is writing on). Or perhaps a piece of thick blotting paper, or...
Hi Kristine, is the first marker used the Wink of stella Glitter in black? Because it does not look glittery and I want an opaque black rather than glittery. Thanks for the video.
Is there a certain type of way you should hold a brush pen? I just bought the Artist Loft's Watercolor Dual Tip (brush/fine) markers yesterday thinking they would be good for a first timer. I wish I had seen this video first haha! The tips a very flexible, which I thought would be better, but I'm having a hard time with the transition from think to thin. I know practice makes perfect, but do you have any tips on how to better transition? I've heard there's a "best" way to hold it, but I cannot find the video that mentioned it. Any advice?
I went to this Japanese store and they had these ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers in like 80 colors I believe they are watercolor? Have you heard of them or used them? Seemed really nice and were only $3.99 each.
You make it look like brush handlettering is so easy peasy! Will definitely follow your tips here. Thanks heaps, K Werner Design!
I just decided today that I would love to learn about calligraphy, so it's a coincidence that you uploaded this video today!
Thank you, Kristina! I love calligraphy, too. Lots of videos on here to watch about that. Your videos are just wonder-filled ♥
As usual you are so incredibly encouraging...your voice is so calming and reassuring. You're sharing the various pen types and how you started....I've ordered some. can't wait to try this and include it with my cards!
Your very easy to follow because you take it slow and liked that you showed all the different markers very helpful! Thank you!!!

I think your handwriting is beautiful. I've tried calligraphy in the past, it's lovely when done correctly. Enjoyed this video.
Awesome tips! Thank you for sharing your art with us.
No wonder your so good at this if you've been doing it for so many years. It has paid off...now you do stamps in your own handwriting. Good job! :)
Awesome video, Kristina! I'm definitely going to try it out! Thanks so much for sharing it with us, and thanks for the links on your blog!
Oh, thank you! I have loved hand lettering since I could hold a pencil! I love your lettering and am going to start practicing with a brush pen. I love your videos!
Was just looking into learning to write with brush markers and ran across this....excellent tutorial, thank you so much for sharing!
Great video!!! I haven't done Calligraphy in years, I need to try it again. Thank you!!!

I'd love to see more lettering videos, is there a chance you would make some more? Your handwriting is so beautiful!

Very nice, TFS this calligraphy tip !
I have always thought this would be extremely hard. But the key is practice. Thanks for all the tips and reviews...dee
So pretty! I will practice!
Thanks so much for this very thorough tutorial!!
You always make it look easy! What is sad is the fact that some schools are no longer teaching how to read or write in cursive.
Your writing is beautiful! I just started getting an interest in improving my writing. I bought a couple of ink wells and modern calligraphy tools to get started! More writing videos!
Hi! I recently bought a Pigma Brush Pen and your video is one of the few videos that really helped me practice! Thanks so much! :D
Awesome! With your handwriting you don't need any stamp sets! You are amazing!
HI! I STUDIED SIGN PAINTING AND CALLIGRAPHY BECAME MY PASSION.
YOU ARE VERY TALENTED .THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT LESSONS!!😉.
Jaime Santiago Thank you! :)
Beautiful!!! I wish I wasn't so spastic, every time I try something delicate, my hand totally spazes
I love doing calligraphy especially copperplate but even though I've taken a class in brush lettering I've never been able to master it. You've given me the incentive to try again. Thanks
Great technique Kristina. I would never have though to use a Wink of Stella glitter pen for this kind of lettering.
I keep going back to this video. please do more !
I'd love to try this. Next time I'm at Michaels I'm picking up a brush pen. Thanks!
this is so helpful! thank you for making this!
Great video! I also love script lettering/calligraphy but have always been apprehensive to try it... you make it look so easy, now I'll have to give it a try. Thank you:)
Thank you!! Now to practice, practice, practice!!
This is very beautiful. I am a graphic designer and I am learning calligraphy. Thank you for your videos!

surrendersweet Absolutely! Practice, practice, practice. :)
This is perfect! Thank you for sharing :)
This was very helpful!! Can't wait to try it out. Any tips for people who are left handed?
Your hand writing is beautiful. I don't think I can do this but I'm enjoying your video....Robin
ah what a lovely surprise, you used one of my favourite scriptures
This is really interesting to watch and it feels so relaxing watching you. You do have a very stylish hand writing. I'd love to see more of your doing this. teach us please.

Thank you for this!
with copic its best to use the copic sketch pad. It has a special coating because the ink in the markers is alcohol based.
I have horrible handwriting so I could never do this, but I like watching u write!
I wish i had the patience to practice.. *lol* It looks amazing :-)
i usually have a cardboard backing per paper i do so it doesnt bleed through to the next page... i just insert it after the sheet im working on so it bleeds through to that cardboard (which i re-use every time).... i hope thats helpful... :)

I just saw that you did, when I pulled down the "more..." thank you!
Nice one!
Thanks for the video. I am going to get some pen and start working.
I LOVE your handwriting!!! Do you have a template that we can download and practice with?!?! I'm so jealous!! ;)

Inspiration 😍
I always thought my handwriting was really good! (Then I came upon your channel! ;) )
love the tips, thank you. Your handwriting is so nice! I love your notebook, the spirals don't get in the way of writing, what kind is it?
It's a top spiral notebook. Like a Steno pad. Most office supply stores, and even places like Walmart and Target, will have them.
Love your handwriting. Rather than letting Copic (or other) markers use up a second page, one could cut down one of those super thin plastic cutting mats from the kitchen section, and slip it behind the top sheet (the sheet one is writing on). Or perhaps a piece of thick blotting paper, or...
I just did my first envelop, only problem is my handwriting stinks!! I just used a regular marker. Would like to try the brush marker
Hi Kristina, what lettering do you use inside your cards? Eg, every day writing or your very pretty lettering! BTW, I love your Utube videos ❤️Lois
Just my regular handwriting.
I am like you about handwritting so. I thank you for this tutorial.
hi there, how are tombow pens on Black cardstocks?
Can you an italic calligraphy tutorial?
Hi Kristine, is the first marker used the Wink of stella Glitter in black? Because it does not look glittery and I want an opaque black rather than glittery. Thanks for the video.
Hm...this is a really good idea! Almost all of the cards I send/give to people, I make myself.
Could you please post the different names of the pens you used and the pen widths #'s?
Is there a certain type of way you should hold a brush pen? I just bought the Artist Loft's Watercolor Dual Tip (brush/fine) markers yesterday thinking they would be good for a first timer. I wish I had seen this video first haha! The tips a very flexible, which I thought would be better, but I'm having a hard time with the transition from think to thin. I know practice makes perfect, but do you have any tips on how to better transition? I've heard there's a "best" way to hold it, but I cannot find the video that mentioned it. Any advice?
I like to hold mine on an angle. I'm right handed and the pen falls more to the right, that way I can push down for the thicker lines.
oh my lord
you sound EXACTLY like my teacher
like im actually freaking out
it's absolutly crazy rn
Hi! May i know what brand is the brush that you use to write on the first part? Thanks! Have a good day❤️
I went to this Japanese store and they had these ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers in like 80 colors I believe they are watercolor? Have you heard of them or used them? Seemed really nice and were only $3.99 each.
It's so beautiful, couldn't you just save that envelope with a sand eraser? I love your videos BTW!
Love love
How easily do these markers smear? Im looking for a good pen/marker to address my wedding invitations! Any info will help!
