Much of the route lies inside the boundaries of the Lake District National Park. Linking the two historic Cumbrian towns of Ulverston and Carlisle, the Cumbria Way passes through the towns of Coniston and Keswick.
The route cuts through the Lake District via Coniston Water, Great Langdale, Borrowdale, Derwent Water, Skiddaw Forest and Caldbeck. The Cumbria Way is a primarily low-level route, however there are a few high-level exposed sections.
The local Ramblers Association originally devised the route in the 1970s. Volunteers and national park staff completed the waymarking of the entire route in May 2007.

Mate, fucking well done on smashing the Cumbria way in 3 days, I done the Cumbria way last year and it toke us 4 days to walk and I thought we absolutely smashed it but lad u put in the proper graft and for that u have got a new sub 👍🏻looking forward to the next challenge/ adventure

I'm doing this in May. Started it last year directly after the Dales Way and had to bail out halfway due to gear failing. I'm going to smash it this time though 😂😂😂
Your technique for long distance walking is exactly the same as mine... Go by daylight and sleep where you fall 🤟

Great trail video, >31 miles on day 2 is brutal though. A bit cloudy and some rain but also occasional sunshine for that 15 second 'Club Tropicana' feeling.

How did you find the pack after such an 80 miles walk? Would you opt for a more rigid/frame structure next time or was it comfortable enough?

Thinking of doing this myself. Did you lave your car parked at the start and get public transport back ? Just thinking about the logistics of doing it alone. Missed this the first time you uploaded it.
Note to self - a) take a map and keep checking it so I don't go wrong, b) don't push on so hard and actually enjoy the views and the experience, c) wear better shoes or wear waterproof socks.

I feel like you pushed way too much on day two then day three just seemed like a chore that needed finishing - you didn’t seem to be enjoying it! Feel like if you’d have done this over 4 days, stuck to the official path around derwent water and the paths at the end of day 3 rather than the road it would have been a much better experience. Your fitness is immense though! You can pack away those miles that’s for sure!!

Yeah wounded mate.. it was shot and edited in 4k but for some reason the upload has gone weird.
