- Ellen had a conversation with Tristan Harris, a former Google employee who is one of the prominent people in the hit Netflix documentary "The Social Dilemma." The film takes a look at how social media companies are able to influence and manipulate its users. Tristan discussed how he went from being a Silicon Valley insider to becoming president of the Center for Humane Technology. He discussed his mission to re-align technology for the well-being of humanity, what parents should be aware of to help protect kids, and what solutions there are to stop addiction to social media.

You can! It's definitely a learned skill.
It's very simple-you need a lot skills to have that skill. All experts can speak expertly.
The whole documentary features so many graduates from prestigious universities and the way that they can put such mathematical concepts and language into 1-2 sentences for people to understand in such a powerful way is just amazing. Of course I'm not forgetting the purpose of the documentary but the people featured on there are absolutely amazing.

Just say no! We don't even let our kids have phones until they are 16 and they get flip phones. Smart phones with a sit down about all of this at 18. There is no need for kids to have smart technology or social media of any kind. Encourage in person friendships and gatherings.

this is all information that has been known for decades. if people are so clueless that they needed this documentary to see purposeful addictive design in these apps, then they will never understand how a big-tech company's documentary about this specific problem is being use to manipulate their views even further.

Tristan Harris is part of the problem although he's too young in his mind set to see it, along with his friends that created the problem in the first place. That is not their fault though, it's a societal problem. Turn off the screen, and read your Bible; all the answers you need are in there.
