How amazingly cute would this be with all solids for the "books" and names of favorite novels stamped onto the "spines" in indelible ink? Embroidery would be even cuter, but would make this quilt considerably more time-consuming. I'm an embroider first, and a quilter second, so I might just try it (perhaps as a wall-hanging, though)!! Jenny, you're amazing!
Love this quilt and tutorial:) always do! But just really love when you say " we're not going to die over that " .. You have really helped me get over my "it must be perfect" to be worthy. Thank you!:)
I am very new to quilting and knew hardly anything...but watching your video I completed my first quilt and it was beautiful. I love watching your tutorials, you are so detailed and easy to follow. Thanks to you I now love quilting! Please keep making the wonderful tutorials.
Love this! My son works for a book company and he has always loved to read. He has a stack of books next to his chair that he needs to read. Will definitely be making this AND adding names to the books. Thanks for this!
Absolutely adorable quilt. I admire yo "Stacks" name. OOOOO & WEE It is like a JENGA GAME & I'M DEFINITELY GOING 2 MAKE THIS N HONOR OF MY SON, HE GAVE ME A JENGA GAME 4 Christmas, oh about 25 yrs ago. My son has been gone frm US NOW 16 yrs when Oct. comes back around. THANX SO-OOO MUCH 4 making my day as usual. GOD BLESS U & YOUR FAMILY & COMPANY.
I so enjoy Fridays and getting to watch another quilting tutorial! I love this tutorial because I love books - especially quilting books. Thank you for all you do to share the love of quilting with us.
MSQC has done it again! This is quilt is so versatile! Not too fussy, would do well with florals, pastels, batiks, solids, children prints and the list goes on and on 😀. The stacks could be great if one has large scraps or to use up small yardage pieces. Thanks Jenny & gang for keeping us inspired. You are all great!,,
Hi Jenny, I have a layer cake of batiks I have been wanting to use. I have a pattern for them now. Thanks for the new pattern. I don't have a favorite Video here on You Tube because I have used so many on them.
I am not sure where to post my comment for the $150 quilters cash points, but here it goes. Jenny has so many great tutorials that it is hard to pick just one. I have made two quilts using her square in a square method. Both turned out beautiful if I do say so myself.
I made this top in red, white and blue as a donation quilt for a Veteran's Home. my stacks are red and blue, now I have no idea how to quilt it. I am on a fixed income and need to do this on my home machine, any ideas???? Help please
Subscribe to a bunch of youtube videos but don't always take the time to watch the latest, Except for Missouri star's! Even tho I have a long list of to-do quilts and stacks of fabric waiting I am always eager for the latest idea from Jenny to spur my creativity for the next quilt.
I absolutely love the look of the quilt! So simple, plus a great idea to sew the strip in a circle. Great for my jelly rolls and scrappy leftover strips. Thx!!!
I like this quilt. It looks like it would be a quick and easy quilt to make for that 'last minute' gift you need to do. Or at least I seem to always decide to do at the last minute.
Jenny, please stop making all these awesome tutorials (just kidding!!). But every new one I see I want to start another project right away and can't wait to get just the right fabric (i.e. more precuts from MSQC). Just this week I've made a quilt top using the Disappearing 9-Patch, and started a Quatrefoile and a Half-squares Around the World, and have fabric for a Diamond Dash. Now here's another great one with a book theme (my second hobby after quilting). I like the suggestion to add names on the books for a family quilt and think I might do this as a table runner with our names embroidered. It would be a great way to use up leftover jelly roll pieces. As far as a favorite, I'm really loving the Quatrefoile I started, but I like all the ones I've done from your tutorials.
Hi Jenny and crew, I bought a jelly roll with all huge print wild colorful flowers. All colors purple, pink, yellow, green, etc. They are one sided or single 2 1/2 strips. I can't seem to find a way to make a quilt with them because there all so bright. I don't know how to tone it down. Help Please.........Hopefully you can figure out something. I was thinking of Natalie's Summer in the park, or the same one but with black strips?
I'm a big time amateur at quilt making, and I've debated back & forth since watching this video if I'm capable of making this stack quilt, but you've made it look so easy, and it's a cool looking quilt. So I bit the bullet and ordered some delicious jelly rolls from MSQC. I can't wait to get started! Thumbs up!
Don't make me choose - please!!! LOL I am just finishing up the Illusions quilt for a friend's husband who has just been diagnosed with cancer. It's a little hug from me.
Going to do this as a present for my daughter who's a book worm. thank you Jenny and team MQC. I love Fridays so the next one can't come quick enough so I can see another of you tutorials. Tracy Volkner. Cornwall. UK
Another home run... you hit it out of the park again. I'm putting this one very close to the top of my ""to do"" list. I look forward to a new Idea from MSQC (Jenny) every Friday morning. Makes getting up, worth it. Love it... no pattern, no points to keep, no seams to match.....
Love the quilt and the idea of putting favorite book titles on the "spines" of the books. Great in bright colors for a child's room. I'm sure I have many fabrics in my stash that would remind me of books I love from Dr. Seuss to the Hungry Caterpillar.
This is my latest most favorite tutorial. I have watched them all and eagerly wait each week for a new one. Your instructions are so easy to follow. If I get in a bind when I am making a quilt, I just look through your tutorials to find an answer. Keep up the good work. I just love it, love it, love it!
Very simple and quick quilt to make following the tutorial. Next add the border. Another tutorial ? I am a beginner and this looks like something I could do easily. Totally appreciate tutorials !!
Love this new jelly roll quilt! Quick and easy, can't wait to make it. Also, thank you for organizing the youtube channel. You read my mind on what I wanted to make it quick and easy to find a quilt based on the type of precuts I want to use. Ya'll are my go to site.
I made a quilt for my grandaughter's dorm room bed with stacks of books (not this pattern) but what made it really special was my daughter embroidering the "spines" of some of the books with the names of her favorite books. She even googled the books so she could emulate the original font! would love to show you a picture.
This is a great, fast quilt that will be perfect for my professor daughter who has so many books! I love the whimsy and crispness, but mostly I love the different looks that can be created simply in the choice of jelly roll fabrics. Thanks for always coming up with something new and fun!
What a great idea. I can't wait to use up my stash strips doing this. I always cut my leftovers into strips and I have been looking for ways to use them up. Now I just need to buy the white or other solid color jelly roll. Thanks.
Love this tutorial! How cool would it be to sew a couple of plain strips across the top and appliqué a little person/dog/cat balancing on the stack of books. That's what I was picturing as I watched this!
This looks like a terrific quilt. I can't wait to try it.....I have heard of using selvage edges with the print on them as the spines of some books. It makes the strips look like book spines. Some fabric names are kind of neat too. I'll have to dig through my scrap stash to find some printed selvages.
Simple and splendid. So many ways to make this with different types of fabrics... children's of course, but reproductions or just scraps would be great. Another great video from our Jenny, thank you again!!
My new favorite is today's quilt, stacks. I love books but I love quilts more! I was already subscribed here and I also have you app! I love free fabric more than anything, so thanks for this contest . Thanks Jenny!!!
I have been looking for a pattern for my son and daughter-in-law. THIS IS IT! Both are book lovers. What has been holding me back - he didn't want anything that looked feminine - this is perfect for both of them. I will need to make it bigger to acommodate a queen size bed. When I started sewing - I watched you over and over again on Craftsy and then started quilting. You are so lovable Jenny.
Jenny, you are so clever. Reminds me of the 1600 inch quilt which was so much fun to make. I think the Stacks Quilt would be cute with a small print against the solid color. For instance, maybe some spring flowers. I can see where you have to pay attention while putting it together, but oh, how lovely it will be when finished. Congrats on another great idea!!
Jenny, you continue to amaze me with your new ideas. So many patterns and ideas and SO LITTLE TIME to do them all!!! I'm definitely making this for my daughter, who is a 3rd Grade Teacher. What a cute wall hanging for her classroom! Adorable!
I have a layer cake that I think I will use to cut for 10 inch strips, and then use yardage to cut the 8 inch strips. It will be a little backwards and the books will be wider than the solid color blocks but I think that'll work because there won't be any wastage for the layer cake. Thanks for the tutorial look forward to every Friday for this😄👍
+Kim Shaw.... Cut 2" off your (Book) layer cake and you'll have four 2.5x 8" books. Then cut down the leftover 2x10" strip to 2x8 (waste 2x2") and add an occasional row of 2" book strips. Win/Win! Thanks Kim for stirring the creative juices!!
I definitely love books. But the catchy jingle played at the beginning of each tutorial is the best. Every time I hear the tune it makes my smile and takes me away to the land of quilting. Thanks for all the quilting tips.
I really enjoy your jelly roll videos. I like the simple cuts with great designs. I live in Hawaii and sew with mostly poly/cotton Hawaiian prints and want to use your designs using them. But I am leaning toward using cotton jelly rolls making it even easier to make a quilt, especially with your daily deals.
Everytime Jenny comes out with a new tutorial, it immediately becomes my favorite! I have made several quilts from the tutorials or from The Block. Today, my favorite tutorial is "Stacks". I can just see book titles placed on those jelly rolls or stitching selvages onto each and place the quilt in my sewing room. I love this quilt!
Well, here is my new favorite tutorial. Every week it seems to change. I just can't figure out why. Maybe if Jenny takes a vacation, I'll be able to keep one for two weeks. This is going to be super easy so it will make a great charity quilt. Thanks!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this pattern!!! My dear friend and I are starting a quilt on Monday and we are changing our pattern to The Stacks!! We can't wait!! Love you, and your tutorials, and your great online store. Wish I lived closer!!
Again, another great quilt, step by step by Jenny! She makes everything so very simple. Things that go in my mind, don't come out like Jenny does, thank Heavens for Jenny!
Fun quilt and I'm such an avid reader that it would be a great creation. And I love the idea of putting names of books on some of the spines. What a great way to personalize it either for my self or maybe for a grandchild.
How amazingly cute would this be with all solids for the "books" and names of favorite novels stamped onto the "spines" in indelible ink? +Zakiyyah Tanzil I love the meaning behind you making this quilt, such a precious reminder of your son. We'd love to see a photo when you make it! :)
I'm going to do that in a smaller version, a book bag!
Thank you for teaching us this quilt block!
What an adorable idea Brenda!
Love this design! And you make it look so easy. Thanks for another great tutorial.
I saw this and saw a book shelf. my mind works in mysterious ways. thanks Jen you are such an inspiration!
Hi Jenny, I have a layer cake of batiks I have been wanting to use. I have a pattern for them now. Thanks for the new pattern. I don't have a favorite Video here on You Tube because I have used so many on them.

What a fun and easy quilt to make. Looks difficult but is very easy. My favorite type of quilt.
Subscribe to a bunch of youtube videos but don't always take the time to watch the latest, Except for Missouri star's! Even tho I have a long list of to-do quilts and stacks of fabric waiting I am always eager for the latest idea from Jenny to spur my creativity for the next quilt.
Love the Cheerio's quilt. I'm finishing it up & it's so much fun.
I absolutely love the look of the quilt! So simple, plus a great idea to sew the strip in a circle. Great for my jelly rolls and scrappy leftover strips. Thx!!!
i have seen most of your videos. like the way you explain and your cheerful talk. this one is easy. will try this. thank you
this would be a good family quilt. you could put people's names on the books.
+BenjJr Graham I love that idea!
I like this quilt. It looks like it would be a quick and easy quilt to make for that 'last minute' gift you need to do. Or at least I seem to always decide to do at the last minute.
This is a great project for my first jelly roll! Thanks for being such a great teacher and sharing your talent with a lotto of people like me! lol
Love quilting. Love books. A winning combination!!
how are we supposed to pick a favorite of all the videos? this or the yellow and grey Dresden would be at the top.
So cute and has that "modern"quilt feel too!
Jenny, please stop making all these awesome tutorials (just kidding!!). +berni894 It's a great one to start with, you can do it! :)
This is my favorite tutorial because I love to read. Also it is easy, looks great, and uses a jelly roll. Great quilting too.
Love this quilt! Perfect for the book lovers in my family!
Don't make me choose - please!!! LOL I am just finishing up the Illusions quilt for a friend's husband who has just been diagnosed with cancer. It's a little hug from me.

+Bettye King You're right, a change in fabric will change the look completely. So fun to experiment with!
Would be great with a jelly roll. Love this and will give it a try.
Lots of book lovers in the family. Might try this one!
I love this one!
What a great idea. I can't wait to use up my stash strips doing this. I always cut my leftovers into strips and I have been looking for ways to use them up. Now I just need to buy the white or other solid color jelly roll. Thanks.
+Ty Sonnamaker What a great stash buster!
Love all of your tutorials - they make everything look so easy!
Love this tutorial! How cool would it be to sew a couple of plain strips across the top and appliqué a little person/dog/cat balancing on the stack of books. That's what I was picturing as I watched this!

Great quilt and great for scraps also. Love it 😉
I'm usually a traditional quilt lover, but I do like this modern design. May be giving this one a try. Would make a good first time quilt.
+Liz Blankenship It's great for a beginner! :)
I love it ... thank you ... another fun one from Jenny
Simple and splendid. So many ways to make this with different types of fabrics... children's of course, but reproductions or just scraps would be great. Another great video from our Jenny, thank you again!!
I'm looking forward to visiting MSQC in May! We'll be there on a bus!
+Lynn Vogel That's so exciting!!
love all of your tutorials! love all the ideas!!!!
This is great. Can't wait to start working on mine.
Love the look, does remind me of a stack of books.
My new favorite is today's quilt, stacks. I love books but I love quilts more! I was already subscribed here and I also have you app! I love free fabric more than anything, so thanks for this contest . Thanks Jenny!!!
What a quick, fun pattern. Thanks!
I have been looking for a pattern for my son and daughter-in-law. THIS IS IT! Both are book lovers. My book crazy daughter would love this quilt, may use this one to teach her how to quilt.
+Lisa WA What a fun project for the two of you! Love it!
Jenny just lights up a room - everything she does is with such passion!
+Liza Gennaro You are too sweet!
I forgot to mention I don't like modern designs.
Really like the self binding baby quilt
This one is a pretty cool process. And oh my do I ever have jelly rolls to use up. Going to surely make this one. Easy peasy.
+Kdcaswell We'd love to see a photo when you make it!
This is a great jellyroll quilt! I will be making this for sure. Thanks Jenny!!!
Can't wait to try this. It will be the next one on my list.
It is a perfect modern quilt.
I love your videos. My first and favorite is "You've Got Mail". It is first quilt I made using the MSQC youtube. Plus I love that movie.
I love the stack quilt. I love to read and have lots of books. I also like listening to audio books while I sew and make quilts.
+christine nichols It's so relaxing to listen to audio books while sewing. :)
I have a layer cake that I think I will use to cut for 10 inch strips, and then use yardage to cut the 8 inch strips. It will be a little backwards and the books will be wider than the solid color blocks but I think that'll work because there won't be any wastage for the layer cake. Thanks for the tutorial look forward to every Friday for this😄👍
+Kim Shaw Super idea, you're right... more color.... and those layer cakes do add up if you con't control them.
+Marianne richards , you are a smart girl! thanks for the advice😊👍
+Kim Shaw That's a great idea!
Looks like fun I will have to try this
I definitely love books. But the catchy jingle played at the beginning of each tutorial is the best. Every time I hear the tune it makes my smile and takes me away to the land of quilting. Thanks for all the quilting tips.
Simple and cute. Love!
Love this idea! I have lots of strips left from previous projects that I plan on using for this project. Thanks for all your tutorials!
Thanks!
I like all your quilts but can I challenge you to use an other color than white for backgrounds!
+Julien Girard Thanks for the suggestion, Julien. We'll keep that in mind! :)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this pattern!!! My dear friend and I are starting a quilt on Monday and we are changing our pattern to The Stacks!! We can't wait!! Love you, and your tutorials, and your great online store. Wish I lived closer!!
Oh, I love this. It would make a great childs quilt made with three rows. This one is on my list to make soon.
+Debbie L That would be a great size, Debbie!
This is a great quilt! Easy peasy and bright and colorful. I love quilts with white, I think they look fresh. Thanks for this tutorial!
This is definitely on my "must make" list. Always love a pattern that doesn't require a ton of seam matching!
Yet another awesome tutorial!
OMGosh, I love them all. There are too many to mention and all free, really, pick ONE, not possible.
Thanks again Jenny.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS JENNY ..YOU ARE A GREAT
I can't wait to make this fun quilt
I love this quilt Jenny. And it doesn't look to complicated :-) Brilliant! You're so great at these tutorials Thank You again
