A lot of bluster for NZ on Election Day
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 жов 2023
- Strong winds, heavy rain and heavy snow make up the severe weather this Saturday and Sunday around NZ as we reach peak spring conditions.
Mid-October is often very unsettled - although the past several years in NZ have been calmer than this year.
We track the severe weather for Election Day, the risks that linger into Sunday - and how next week is shaping up.
Programming Note: We have NO VIDEO on Friday due to travel sorry. But we’re back again on Monday. We also have our Australia-only 7 day forecast out today (and out every Thursdays). - Наука та технологія
Thanks for the Election Day warnings Phil, 1 thing i plan to do is take my old mum up to vote today so you all should get your oldies to the polls early to avoid Windy Umbrella use on Saturday.🌂☔
Enjoy your break Phil.
Spring being Spring... the season I dislike the most, cos you always get teased at the start with some warmer weather and longer days, then boom! Gotcha - snow, wind, rain... fingers crossed it settles into a nice long hot dry summer!
haha that's so true! You get this surge of warmth and think the worst is over...then BAM, a month later winter returns along with a sometimes weirdly hot sun in the afternoons despite a cold wind.
Yep, every year the extra blanket comes off the bed and the flannel jammies get put away and then.....! Spring 😁
Good morning, calm and light rain in Melb this morning, very nice indeed.
Great news!
Thanks Phil stay safe out there 👍
Awesome thanks Phil and Team 🌊🚵🏼♀️🌞💖
ha ha, I see what you did there! Cyclone Winston is about to chase off the shattered scours!
Lol the best headline we ever had that was political was when Winston was trying to win in Northland several years back -at the same time as Cyclone Winston was heading our way... and we got to write: "Winston peters out, Northland relieved" :) lol
Thank you for the update. Please enjoy your weekend, travel safe and take care. See you on Monday.
Thank you for your update. Wish you and your crew a great extended break. Cheers.
This will make a change from all the political HOT AIR we have been subjected to over the last few months!
Very windy here on the upper Yorke Peninsula today (Port Broughton, Thursday) a lot of cloud about - we have a referendum election on Saturday too, I hope it's raining 😄
Amazing place to live mate. If you have any home fishing vids or a YT channel would be great to get a link.
Yes it's a nice little town 😃Sorry, I'm not on YT. Perhaps I should thing about it! @@DJmerv71
Thank you! 😊👍
Cold winds in Auckland Thursday feels like winter still here
Thanks, Phil! Nice cool change and a drop of rain , just north of Melbourne.
Just heard some thunder!
Have fun on your long weekend.
Thankyou
We may be in for another washout summer
Cyclical triennial shit storm. Forecast is: 100% propability of gusty wind bags & flatulent air from the nether regions on election day.
😂 KiaOra!
I was hoping for a hot blast from Aussie so we could say "A lot of hot air"
@@WeatherWatchTV 😅 Same.
Rain scale need to be bigger thanks
It's tricky to make it larger as we can't control the graphics, but we'll see what we can do :)
Cheers phil. 👍😝✌️WW! 💯
Brrrr its a 💨 bit chilly, Phil..
Next update 16/10/23
Hopefully it's cold and miserable weather on Saturday, it will keep the Bolsheviks at home.
Let’s go Winston
💪 🏋 🚀
👍🏻👍🏻👏👍🏻👍🏻
Labour weekends always the worst weather .
Bluster like our Politicians
And the worst winds will be around the Beehive! lol
Imagine sending complaints! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Every. Single. Day. :)
If I were to "Emigrate" to "Down Under" I think it would have to be Auss because you in NZ don't
get any better weather than we do here in the UK. Just lots of "Wind and Rain" like we do.
Well true but that's the nature of small islands as opposed to large land masses. NZ has deteriorated anyway. You're better off where you are. More opportunity.
All depends on what lifestyle you are seeking. Outdoors people and party sleepers can crash anywhere in NZ knowing you wont get bitten by something. There are zero human predators in NZ. Avg temps in summer 25/35 degs, our fishing scene is second to none and 3/4s of our country is not an uninhabitable desert full of danger. lol.
I know you can't do anything bout the colour keys on some of the maps you guys use , but my word ,, they absolutely suck, and are stupidly hard to reconcile

Two of the worst words in the world for Wellington; ‘North Westers’.
I think Phil is related to the smiling assassin.
I was raised in Radio where we're taught to always smile into a microphone :) Just as well I don't read the news on CNN
Invercargill is a city never show
💖 Invercargill
is that that place near Gore?
We do tend to talk about Northern Southland more than Invers - as we get radio interviews weekly in Gore.
