Dude, Established Titles has been proven to be a scam. A lot of other UA-cam creators have dropped them like a hot potato.
Established Titles is a SCAM. There is no land, there is no title. All there is for people to get is a cheaply printed piece of paper and a crappy frame.
MANY channels have already dropped these scumbags when it came out that they're not even delivering the free trees anywhere.
please vet Established Titles again. many investigative websites are saying it is a scam.
Established titles is a scam . Please don't waste your money on it. They don't plant a tree or actually buy a square foot of land in your name. It's more or a novelty gift to give someone.
Established Titles is a scam.
Unfortunately these established title people are scammers.
Yes other UA-cam channels have been in the loop as far as scammers, Creaky Blinder said that today he was no longer sponsoring any of the established titles 😮
Yup. And pleasant green, a scambaiter channel exposed them last year. Anyway , back to the video.
Sorry if you're asked this all the time but where do you get your bla... Just kidding.
Why do you not cut two cants side-by side when they're the same size?
You do waste a far amount of timber it’s part off saw milling but we forget how much wood save in the process
I watch what you do and it makes me wish I had something like that 40 years ago when I could have done that kind of work. It's amazing seeing how the technology has advanced to make small saw mills even possible. I have been a wood worker most of my life I even taught shop classes. It was always a challenge to get lumber for my students to build projects. Something like the setup you have would have been amazing as an educational tool. Keep the saw dust flying, I wish you success.
You started talking about burning slabs, that brought back memories of when I was a young boy. We used to go to the sawmill and get slabs for free. We hauled many a truck load in our old 1949 Ford PU back to our home. Where it was my job and my brother's job to cut firewood every afternoon after we got out of school. You see we couldn't afford to buy coal for our furnace, so we cut slabs to heat our old wooden two story house. Lots of firewood cut back then, I can still see us cutting all those slabs up to heat our home.
Can you imagine kids today doing such a thing? I can't, all most want to do is play on their cell phones. A different time for America back many years ago, early 1960's vs 2022. I enjoy watching your videos, thanks greatly.
Just my thoughts...
Thanksgiving dinner looked mighty fine. Hope you and your family hand a wonderful and blessed day. Absolutely love your videos always so informative. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
I don't know if you have done it or not but the ashes and charcoal would be good additives for your garden the charcoal is wonderfully after a couple of years check into it your garden will love you for it
He can have a side line of making and selling soap !
Oh my word. Not just turner's wood in there there's firewood resaw wood cheese/serving board my lord!!🤮🤯🤔😲🏴
Yikes a months worth of firewood crisped! :P Crikey! Even the 2 footers get burned! AiYeee!!!
That was a brilliant batch of pine timber milled for your kiln Nathan. I hope you all enjoyed that pretty good looking meal too. Cheers, Don from South Austr3alia.
Is that cornbread dressing I see? What's mama put in it? I didn't notice if y'all had giblet gravy or not.....
Nathan; I don't have a sawmill so I don't need blades for it but who is this Joe Maine guy and why should I call him??? 😄
On a more serious note, when you're cutting boards, say 2x6's and you've just cut two 6" cants, you drop one onto the log lifter then cut your lumber from the cant remaining on the mill, reload the previously dropped cant and then cut it. Why not just cut both cants at the same time?
Belated happy Thanksgiving Nathan, may I make a suggestion? Logs you said you could not do much with? How about saw them into 4x4s or whatever to stack good logs on top of (like the maple you lost) keep stuff up off the ground, might take a few extra minutes at unloading time with your tractor/grapple but what if that had been a curly maple? Worth?? Just a thought. Tyler
How can you go to work after Thanksgiving dinner?...You are super saw man...🙂
Here’s a thought that you might consider. What if you offered up packs of wood to be bought by wood turners like me out of your good pieces of scrap boards you have? It would be a great way for you to make some extra money and you’d be helping out guys like me.
Couldn't someone use those short boards?? A hobbyist, small time woodworker??
Great video Nathan!! Maybe you can answer a question for me. When you cut that log into 2 - 6" wide sections then dropped one section and cut the first into 1 1/8 thick boards. When finished you bring back the 2nd one and cut it into 1 1/8 thick boards. What is the reason you can't have them both side by side, which would be 12" wide, and cut them into 1 1/8 boards at the same time? Would that not save time? Is it that you might bind the blade? I was just curious. Thanks again for the videos.
I used to think you were wasting wood but then I realized you do this for a living to provide for your family. It would not be in your best interest to waste any wood. You calculate and cut to get the maximum amount of sellable product that you can.
That was some fine looking country food on the table !!!!!!
I'm still thinking you need a wood powered generator... turn that heat into electricity.
Thank you another interesting video. Would you share the coordinates of you land in Scotland. I bought two for my grandchildren and wouls like to know if they are near to the Out of the Woods Village. Take care.
May be a dumb question but wanna know: What is the purpose of the swinging rods that hang down on the mill?
Use 4x4’s on the bottom for stickers You could have used the tractor lifted the entire stack then placed your longer boards on the bottom
Heck, I just wish that i lived close enough to get this wood. I would even pay for it to burn in my fireplace. Oh man, I would love to have that short stuff if your not going to dry it...
Very interesting, RB, Nova Scotia.
cuts like a laser beam, and with out all he smoke too.....great video....Paul down in Florida
I would use the bad wood to make some ground racks for the good logs.
Next Kamikoto knives, come on dude.👎
Hi Nathan!! Great video as always! Question - Couldn't you cut the boards at 10 feet and then cut the extra 24 inches off and use the 24" pieces as shelving or some other small project?
I was wondering the same thing, but we just watched him burn them??
So... Lord Nathan we are neighbors now in Scotland. Dont normally do this kinda thing, but it supports this channel, and global efforts. My mrs is now officially my Lady :)
Nice
Belated Happy Thanksgiving. The food on table looks yummy!!!
Not sure where you get your blades from, But do you send them back to Joe Maine to have them resharpened ?
I sharpen them here
I cried a little when you burned all that wood not gonna lie
Maybe you could make some charcoal out of the off cuts.
Y'know how there are videos of fires burning in fireplaces that you can play on your TV/computer? Put that sequence on a loop and set it by your tree on Christmas Eve.
That is a Happy Thanksgiving meal of High Quality! If I just had a piece of that pie! Kind Thanks and Many Blessings OTW Family! I’m Thankful for you Folks, the Cats, even the most hateful MaMa cat on YT and the Chickens of course! And that mesmerizing Mr. Miser! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
I wish I lived closer to you, I sure wouldn't mind picking through your scrap pile.
Life Hack for you Nathan: used cooking oil mixed with about 10% Gasoline makes great fire starter fluid. Cheaper than Propane or Diesel. Hope you had a good Turkey Day ... we sure did over here in the Riviera.
Nathan, and family, Happy thanksgiving! have watched your videos for years well months anyway. great lifestyle, great humour, great education! but... Nathan, Laird not lard. the very best wishes and if you want keep saying lard.. and I'll keep saying aluminium..lol.
Nathan - What's the model number of your Stihl battery-powered chainsaw? Stihl makes several of them and I'd like to compare them with yours. Thanks!
This is a scam. Don’t fall for it.
Pretty wood. Pretty music. (Did Linda get stuck with kitchen duty while you skedaddled down to the mill?!)---My 91 y/o Mom & I (and Sister asked to join us before her own family gathering) had take-out Chinese from a family owned cafe in business since the early 60's. Lots of yummy leftovers for days & days!
It must be nice to have the FREEDOM you have there in Tennessee. A burn pile like yours would never happen here in California. Your Thanksgiving dinner looked wonderful.
You had a busy Thanksgiving Day. More videos produced. Lord Nathan you are doing well.
Dang those 1x6 cutoffs would have made some nice beehives. Wish you were closer to Texas!
Happy Belated Thanksgiving Nathan ans Family…. Does the family like sitting by the open fire at night, Bruno joins you? I love the open bonfire.
Way to work off all them turkey fixings. Your Lordship.
Hi Nathan, it looks like during the 'time lapse' @ 10:55 - 11:05 the whole bed of the mill is lifting opposite the operator, does this cause any issues with accuracy of cut lumber?? Just curious. Thanks for all the videos, I Love watching the cutting, very relaxing for some reason.
I need to tighten the outriggers
Thanks for that
@@OutoftheWoods0623 You Are Welcome.
You should add some air to your tensioner airbag. It's should be at 85 psi. Great videos keep them coming.
It does seem like a real waste by burning the logs. Could have been used for fire wood.
He can't get anyone to even come get it for free. If you burned wood for heat, you would not want knotty evergreens chunks or rotted maple - it's a waste of time.
Barbecue time! Big hardwood barbecue fire going there. Throw on the turkey or just a few steaks and burgers! Wood smoked ham and Turkey were our Thanksgiving Dinner this year. I hope you and your family enjoyed your’s!
Nathan, every time I see you burning the waist wood I think there must be someone in your area that needs wood for heat. A local church could be a happy middle-go-between to help people in need. Just a thought.
Isn't life great!
Nathan, have you thought about working with a church or civic club to help process that scrap wood for fire wood for the less fortunate. You may even be able to use it as a tax write off!
I love how he says lairds
Now all you need is a whole hog
We haven't seen Dad in awhile.
he is busy helping mom take care of my grandmother, rough times
@@OutoftheWoods0623 You come from good people.
Haven’t seen your son for a while. How’s he doing?
Great. Thanks for asking
I haven't a clue what Thanks giving is but I do recognise good food when I see it!
SORRY Nathan but you just used up all your carbon credits with that bonfire. No more till next year 😅🤣😂🤣
Ouch
Do you have to inform the local fire dept or police dept before you burn so someone does not think that 1/2 of Tennessee is on fire?
Nathan have you ever consider ryzes super mushroom coffee look it up
That hurt
Cheers
I carve, my Brother is the turner, but we are too far away to come to get anything before you burn it... so I do understand why you have to do deal with it that way
Thanks more Hot coco for Bruno 🤠💖👩🦳
Hey Joe
Yes you do burn some bowl turning wood but I bet it would be a pain to try to save it. it would be cost prohibitive to save it.
Nooooooooooo, that's a years worth of turning blanks right there. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Nathan just wondering why you did not cut both those cants at the same time ?
If you had a finger joint machine you could save a lot of lumber. Just spitballing here.
The machinery cost and labor required would make a small production operation like this unwise. Same with making wood pellets or charcoal, etc.
Just love that last piece of music Nathan❤
After Nathan explained why he was cutting off two feet from log I thought, "Why not save time and chain saw it off before milling?". Then, when he milled first I thought, "I get it, now he has some 1"X6" X 24" shorties he can surely use for something". Then he burns them...
Makes for lots of comments 😂
Yeah, he explained that, perhaps you missed it. He wanted the offcuts to be in smaller pieces so they were easier to handle.
This is a comment you could have kept to yourself,as it has no value to anyone whatsover.
Not true. Every comment adds to Nathan's algorithm
There was enough firewood in that burn pile at the start of the video to heat a house for an entire winter lol
I can’t believe you ate without us. 😂
Two videos on the same day?! Love it!
Three more coming
Non of that was good for fire wood?
No. It's rotted maple and knotty softwoods.
Life is good,Enjoy!
Nice fire at the end. Very relaxing. 😎
If this has been said before, I must have missed it. Why can't you cut both cants at the same time?
You absolutely can and some sawyers do that to save time. I believe Nathan has said he prefers to cut them individually to reduce the shimmying and slight offsets that can occur when you hang cut them. There's usually just a single point where the hydraulic ram clamps, so there can be gaps towards the ends that allow movement.
Does your town/county require a burn permit for open burning?
Yes
Does your wife have to resort to texting you to come in for meals? 😆
Yes
5:00
Where's the turkey ?
Did it get pardoned ?
😂😂
Nice fire
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Confirmed
Two things Nathan, that was a super hot Fire and those biscuits I saw on the table looked amazing, thanks.
Hawking "environmentally minded" vanity titles while exacerbating the climate crisis
Your an idiot
Thanks for sharing Nathan, got a lot of good lumber again so you should be drying lumber shortly. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and enjoy what you're doing. We enjoy watching. Fred.
' Layer'd '= Laird. Try it with a Scottish accent! Say it like you'd say FART! Short and sudden like!
Great video lord Nathan, thanks for taking the extra time it takes to create these videos! 👍
I have 2 questions for you today. Sorry, but I watched the videos out of order. The first question is can you stop the kiln during the process and add more wood or is it best to just let that batch run its course and finish? I'm not talking about putting green wood in with like 12% wood. I'm talking about wood that is close to the same moisture content. I saw the video where you put more lumber on top of the stack before the one where you just started, sorry. The second question is what is the minimum diameter log you will saw on the mill? I am sure the mill has a minimum. Do you stick to that minimum or do you have another figure in your head? I am a big proponent for safety.
Nathan, you may have already done a video on this, but I don't think I've ever seen you set up and control the mill, is the new mill automated or do you have to adjust to the thickness you want on every cut? Maybe a couple minutes detailing and seeing you run it from the operators station would make a good video
Two questions:
1. What is the thickest lumber you have dried in the Kiln?
2. Did I see that right in this video? Were you able to drop the log right next to the sawmill ? Did not know there was enough roof clearance to get the tractor in there.
Thanks.
lot of people need what you burnt
Well, it happens with every channel, eventually a video gets posted that just strikes me the wrong way....this is one of those!
Comments do me the same way, this is one of those!!
@@OutoftheWoods0623 I wasn't going to say anything about it, however....all my working life, I put family first at Holidays! Seeing the current culture willing to sacrifice family time on Holidays, for the sake of a youtube video, or other social media content, like I said, strikes me wrong! Just clearing the air since my comment did you the same way! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
If I want to hear a commercial, I'll turn on the TV. Unsubscribed, sadly.
Ridiculous, really! You could just fast forward passed the advert, if this ruins your day I'd hate to see you handling real problems, your head must explode 🙄
Just hit the fast forward. Double tap on the right side of the screen. Great videos. Thanks again Nathan.
as a cabinetmaker, I prefer 10 and 12 foot material.. less waste and I like to make my cabinets, as long as I can to make the installation easier..
