  • It is important for dancers to warm up before dancing in order to prepare the body for longer and full range of movements.
    Warm up exercises help to decrease tension in the muscles and joints. Through this preparation you can ensure you are able to move without stress and strain. These exercises help to increase the body temperature gradually to an optimal working level and to avoid injuries.
    My warm up drill contains exercises for neck, arms, shoulders, hip and legs.
    Here are some warm up exercises for the major limbs. If you are bored of doing the same warm up exercises everyday, you could mix and match from this video to warm up the entire body!
    The exercises are chosen keeping in mind mobility, dynamic stretching and muscle activation which are some of the essential aspects of warm up. Do give them a try! :)

    Hello sister , I am facing alot of issues while dancing, I bend my back bone when I dance and I am not able to find a proper exercise for that can u please suggest or make me video for back bone strengthen. Thank you

      Check this ua-cam.com/video/3I3DF3lybhk/v-deo.html
      I suggest you work with your teacher in-person. It is not about backbone strength. It is the postural correction that is required. Can't suggest much without watching you dance.

      Work on the hip Flexibility and strengthening your leg muscles. Can't map just one exercise to any particular movement.

    Often I wonder whether the line of demarcation between a dancer and a gymnast is fast disappearing! 🤔
    Dancing was not so demanding a few decades ago. With changing time everything changes.

    • @PratibhaKini
      @PratibhaKini  3 роки тому

      In my opinion, with the growth of science and research if there are things which help a dancer(or a person) move effortlessly, age gracefully, there is no wrong in adapting the same.
      Also, people had an active lifestyle and better food habits earlier... so with changing trends ie., the sedentary lifestyle and fast food, it becomes more important to condition our bodies to be able to do justice to the art form.
      20 mins - 1 hour of physical activity in any form is good for anyone and everyone, not only a dancer. It is a choice one makes to better their performance (on stage and health in real life). This is the least one can do to perform well (and to lead a healthy life)
      I do not agree completely that the demarcation between a dancer and gymnast is disappearing. I feel the awareness around health and fitness has increased with increasing health conditions and problems.
