I had a question about mounting an action camera and asked a customer service rep at DJI about it having a magnetic mount. They reminded me that adding a camera like this would void the care refresh plan and not be covered if the drone crashed with a mount of any kind attached. I'll still do it, maybe without a magnetic mount, just thought I'd mention that so people know. Thanks for the good information in this video.
Thanks for the video Sean, I have noticed that the GoPro definitely has better dynamic range than the Avata, I'm pretty tempted to buy a GoPro for that, I still can't get gyro flow to work
Nice comparison! I was just planning on mounting a cam on top of the Avata but since the results are basically the same might as well ditch the plan! It's more convenient without the Go Pro anyway
What is your gyroflow workflow? You stabilize the footage first in gyroflow. Export then bring it in the stabilized footage to your NLE editor such as premiere pro or FCP?
Yes, I pull the Rob files off the memory card into my computer. Stabilizing, Gyro flow and then I transfer to my iPad Pro I do all my editing in LumaFusion on an iPad.
I will save the money and use gyroflow with the Avata camera. Of course I'm not filming as a pro either. I'm certinally impressed with what I'm seeing from the camera on the Avata. I found gyroflow easy to use with the Avata as well. Thanks Sean.
Indeed, the Nevada camera is really good paired with gyro flow. You can definitely get professional results. And the fact that it is free is a really nice
Do you have any problems getting heavy shakes from the GoPro while flying the Avata? When I slow down or stop I have massive bumps in the footage from the GoPro
Hey Sean just finished watching your Luma fusion tutorial from four years ago and I absolutely loved it, it was great and easy to follow. However as I went to buy it, it looks like it has a complete new system or way of working from when you made your video. Is it possible in the near future to make an updated video on how to use Luma fusion? Thanks so much man
Indeed, when I made that tutorial, it was on version one now we’re on version three a lot of things are quite different. Perhaps yes I should make an updated tutorial for those who are just learning now.
It doesnt work for me. I keep trying but it just wont work even tho I did everything he said in the video. Is it because im using gyroflow on my phone? Someone please help
You need the gyroscope data. You only get this if you access the raw data directly via the SD card, for example you are not allowed to connect the GoPro via USB
It’s definitely not ideal, but as long as you don’t do anything crazy, it’s fine. The biggest concern is the camera becoming disconnected and losing it somewhere.
For this video, I just use stock settings for both gyroflow, and REELSTEADY. I can make another demonstration video, showing how I find tune things for my own content?
The Hero 11 footage looked great. And nice to see you had a few good software options to stable rise your video. Nice testing, and thanks for sharing

You are correct I did make a quick note about that at the end of the video. I just want to make sure people understand that.
@@AirPhotography Oh good, I commented before the video was done :)
I’m glad you did, not everybody will watch it till the end of the video perhaps they’ll at least see this comment before they try it 👍
Do you think Dji could figure out if you used an extra camera?
I’m not sure to tell you the truth. And the flight logs perhaps they could tell by the way the Escs and motors are working.
Nice! Got me more interested to fly this drone. Looks hella fun to own a DJI Avata!!!
Great video as usual.
Great video . Do you ha e a link for that mount?

Have you ever cracked a drone gimbal I did a couple days ago luckily I got it fixed.thy are so fragile.
Would you say this is a good beginners FPV drone?
Another good video from you, thanks
Did you have a answer to my question Shawn? Thanks Barry Spain 🇪🇸
Nice comparison! I was just planning on mounting a cam on top of the Avata but since the results are basically the same might as well ditch the plan! It's more convenient without the Go Pro anyway
On the avata do I need to set 4k-4:3 wide or 4k-16:9 wide. EIS off in both cases.
Image stabilization must be off and you must film in wide. I always film in 16 x 9. I’ve never tried it in the 4 x 3, so not sure if that works.

I can't seem to get the footage to my Mac since mp4 and if I try to upload to reel steady it doesn't work and all my settings were correct
Ok I see is very good this camera GoPro hero 11
Good comparison video Shawn. Originaldobo does a good mounting kit to mount a GoPro on the Avata.
I’ll check it out. Thank you.

@@AirPhotography That would be awesome, keep up the great videos and i’ll be looking forward to that one.
Nice
For a mini drone, the Avata takes great videos. I don't think Go Pro's are necessary

Avata picture is fine. GoPro shows more detail in shadows..
wont the battery come out mounting like that

Can you install reelsteady pro on the iPad?
Unfortunately, no, you cannot
What are your go to Gyroflow settings?

@@AirPhotography I think people would love that.
Nice 😃
Handy
👍👌

... single digit flight time minutes, seriously?!
I know it sounds bad, but compared to mos similar cinewoops It’s actually pretty good
Yes first comment!
Keep it up.
Gopro really better in auto exposure, and I hate to admit it. DJI should fix their falloffs, highlights always jumping out. 🤦♂️
