Thank you very much. When I want to know something specific about drones, your chanel is always the first one I look at. Concise, precise and always easy to understand. I ordered the goggles after the big firmware upgrade for the minni 4 pro and looking at your different reviews about it.
I had the same experience as you Sean. My peripheral vision was much better with the Hons lenses. Now I just wish someone would produce a more comfortable foam face shield.
Amazing the small spaces and junk you put that through. I wear bifocals and that’s been holding me back. Definitely you have helped make the decision easy - thanks for the review!
Thanks Sean, I never realized that len's were available for FPV googles! I thought that FPV wasn't for me as I wear glasses so, as they say, every day's a school day! Who knows, if I start talking about the DJI Avata, Santa might be listening 🎅😁 Thanks again👍
Thank you for the video, Sean! I have astigmatism and about a 1.5 magnification in my prescription. Does it make any sense to only put the astigmatism into the HONSVR lenses, so that I can still control the diopter settings myself manually, or is it best to just put it all in the lens?
I wish I had watched this video 1 week earlier before ordering my lenses through my eye care place lol Still ordered some from HONSVR since mine were only designed with part of my prescription. They were worried my lenses would be too thick my prescription and didn't include the sphere measurements so it would reduce the thickness. I adjust the sphere measurements through the diopter instead.
Sean, thank you so much for this that helps because I have glasses too and my eyes are blurry too when I fly good thing I’m getting an eye test done next week because I love the avata it’s just blurry
I am a big fan of your vides for the last 4 years ... I have the Mavic 2 Pro, the Mini 3 Pro and now the AVATA . My question is , the video you shot for this is in - NORMAL - SPORT or MANUAL ? I can see you used the RC CONTROLER . I thought I could use these lenses but my vision is good . I only need reading glasses at 2.25 and HONES VR advise me to use the goggles adjustment !
I have some ADD value given in my prescription, but don't see anyway to enter it in Hons order form... Any idea what that +ADD is, and is it really important to get it on these lenses?
I just got my Avata delivered today I got everything set up and all firmware is updated. I can’t seem to figure out how to stop seeing double vision in the goggles 2 I adjusted the knobs to where everything is crystal clear when I close one eye I can see great on either side. But when looking through it with both eyes I see two separate screens that are not blending together like they should.? What can I do to fix that?
That’s a good question. Myself I’ve just been leaving mine, uncovered, and just being careful with them in my bag. I do believe there are some third-party ones that may fit there just a soft style. The other alternative is to get a Goggles soft bag I want you can put them in a backpack and not have to worry about damaging the lenses.
@@AirPhotography I’m thinking it will because everything you described is what I am experiencing. By the way, I’m enjoying all of your videos and experiences.
Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t just depends on how fast I will be flying. You don’t really get the motion blur effects by using an nd filter when flying slow or high. I will sometimes just put on my UV filter just to keep the camera lens protected in case I run into a tree or something.
So you don’t actually do anything with the spare lenses that come with the Avata? My husband was trying to have those cut with his prescription but that’s not how it works right?
Interesting video. I’m thinking of getting some lenses made for mine too, although I’m in the UK and will have to find someone that does it. Out of interest do you get motion sickness when using the AVATA? I used the simulator app and after 30 minutes I felt terrible! Took me about an hour to feel better. Admittedly I was throwing it about a bit in the app, but just hope that when I fly it for real I’ll be OK. Otherwise it’s going to be a very expensive desk ornament!
Where I got mine, HonsVR all you do is enter your prescription on their website and they ship them right to you for 49 bucks which I think is a pretty reasonable price. As for motion sickness, indeed when I use the simulator, it makes me very queasy, but not so much. When I fly the drone itself I can spend hours flying the Avata in a session and not get sick at all now mind you I have to sit down and keep my head tucked in and not move it. Lol if I move my head too much while flying, then I start to get a little dizzy.
My lens holders that DJI included with the goggles constantly fall out of the goggles every time I remove the goggles from my head. Is there some trick to get them to stay on. They press on but there’s no click and they fall off way too easy. Thanks.
Indeed, they are just held on with friction. There’s nothing that clicks in. Mine stay in tight. Perhaps you can contact DJI to see if they can send you another set to see if they fit a little bit tighter.
I ordered the lenses as well, but both fell out while walking around with the goggles around my neck. One was right at my launch pad on the ground, the other was only found by retracing my steps in the woods. They seem to fit loose and easy to fall out. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
Interesting, I have not experienced that yet. I will keep an eye on that. I didn’t have to go for a hike with my goggles the other day to retrieved a crash drone but they did stay in place mine seem to be on fairly tight.
Interesting. Mine are on tight. I don’t have any worries at the fall of. I would contact Hons VR and see what they suggest. Maybe they’ll send you a replacement.
I received mine the other day and followed your directions however mine do not seem to stay on. If I am not paying attention they will fall off on the ground. Am I installing them wrong? Anyone else have this problem?
Just got the lenses (from another company, but same product) and cannot prevent them from popping out at the slightest pressure… something is very wrong with the design of these things
@@rocc0io Thanks I have been doing some research and it is definitely a DJI design flaw. with the frame for lenses. Hopefully they may come up with a fix. Glad to know that I have not broken them or installed incorrectly.
Yes, I have read people are having that issue. What I would recommend is contacting DJI and ask them to send you another set of the men’s casing. Perhaps they will fit tighter. Mine fit pretty good, and I have not really had an issue with them coming off. Alternatively, you could perhaps try a very thin tape on the inside just to add a little bit more friction.
@@AirPhotography I was waiting on a video from someone having had the lenses added as I’m suffering the same edges being blurry, so yes it will be a game changer for full clarity. Thanks again for the video.

Not a related question, but don't know where to ask it: I'm from the EU and I tried to buy 2 batteries for my gopro hero 8 because the old ones started to swell. It looks like they are out of stock everywhere (I tired to buy them from the gopro site, but they are not shipping standalone batteries to my country). Is that normal to not be able to find replaceable batteries for a 3 year old gopro? What am I supposed to do now, buy the 11?
It is the same here in Canada. GoPro cannot ship batteries directly here. I would check on Amazon. It should be some batteries available there even if they are third-party ones. On the Canadian Amazon and I can still find batteries for the hero 4
Do you have any problems with the corrective lenses staying in place in the goggles 2? I also purchased mine from HONS VR and my corrective lenses fall off or out of place whenever I remove my goggles.
