Let me use this opportunity to bring awareness to the oppression of Tibetans. No, I am not talking about the Tibetans in China. I am talking about Tibetans in occupied South Tibet, which was annexed by India in 1951 and made a state by India in 1987 to become the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are fast becoming strangers in their own native homeland because the Indian government is settling Indians in the region to change the demographic structure of the region. The Indians like to mock them, calling them Chinese as a form of insult (sometimes calling them names such as the C* word or the M* word.) Rape by Indians in occupied South Tibet is a major source of resentment of the locals to the Indian occupiers. Another thing is that India simply doesn't trust the locals and likes to accuse them of being Chinese spies if they don't display enough loyalty to the Indian occupier. This area is tightly controlled by India with limited access to the outside world. In 2014 a Tibetan Chinese called Nido Tania went to Delhi and was beaten to death because he looked 'Chinese'. His case was hardly an isolated one. Rape by Indians is a major source of tension in South Tibet against India. Today South Tibet is restless, and India knows it. This is the reason AFSPA (Armed Force Special Powers Act) is imposed on South Tibet. AFSPA dates back to colonial times when the British were running South Asia. AFSPA gives India the power to detain or kill anyone with impunity. AFSPA is imposed on regions India deemed 'disturbed,' such as Kashmir and South Tibet. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are voiceless people because they are not the right kind of Tibetans, so their plight is ignored by the world at large. I have yet to hear from the Western media of any concern about human rights abuse of the Tibetans in occupied South Tibet by India. Free South Tibet from India.

if you are a foreigner the only thing you are forced to do, is to pay a Tibetan to guide you around Tibet
I’d argue that their life is better these days
That’s because the average Tibetan life expectancy in 1951 was 35 years of age
“That’s because 95% of Tibetans lived in feudal serfdom,”
Where the Monks were land owners, serf owners who took in little boys as their playthings in their monasteries
But people can keep believing that F ache Hollywood Brad Pitt 7 years in Tibet Shangri-La made up bulllcheeet
These days the Dalai Lama just wants more autonomy…. Probably for the good ole days to come back again
      👇
Tibetans want more autonomy, not independence or political separation from China: Dalai Lama

A fun fact is that nomadic and hunting peoples who live in some of the world’s most remote and harsh environments-such as Alaska, Northern Canada, the Caucasus, and Tibet-survive primarily on animal protein from sources like caribou, elk, reindeer, yak, seal, whale, fish, and other wild game, along with fat and dairy products like yogurt, cheese, and butter, with little to no access to fresh green vegetables. Yet, they often have remarkably healthy hair, skin, and nails and tend to live long, healthy lives.

Tibet is so large that, except for a few cities, many people still maintain this primitive lifestyle. This does not mean that they are poor. On the contrary, they may have hundreds or thousands of yaks at home. But the schooling of their children is a problem because they live too scattered. There may be only a few children who need to go to school in a hundred square kilometers. Therefore, Tibet has to adopt boarding schools, where children can only go home once every two weeks. This is a way suitable for Tibetan children, but Western media describe this as the "boarding school" that Americans used to treat Indians.

To be fair it didn’t smell of anything inside the yurt when they were cooking so can’t tell you what yak dung smells like haha 😛
