3rd Times a Charm - The Last Mods to the Roadside Firewood Stand?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 бер 2024
- Even the best ideas and builds require changes. This is the case with the firewood stand. Originally built in 2023, this is the third time I am making modifications to the layout. The first iteration was for a different location to sell firewood. I then moved it home and added on to the firewood stand. Finally, the small loose stacks of firewood didn't sell and I needed more large loose stacks, so mods are required.

I like the evolution of your stand! Always pays to be thinking of more efficient and better ways to get a job done
For sure. Thanks. Always strive to be a bit better.
That stand is beautiful. Nice job.
Thanks!
Very nice roadside stand! I have the smaller honor box on my stand👍👍
Hi Mitch. Very nice stand you built. I’m going to check your plan out. Good job.
Awesome, thank you!
Your assistant is very attentive! And your work is excellent - a far cry from "winging it" !! I just hope folks continue respecting the honor system. A new pay box - did you have to do anything else to protect your stand? Thanks for sharing!
I do have a couple cameras up, one strategically placed to get license plate numbers. In 2022 I had a break in. But I was using the chincy locking mailbox from Home Depot. Took the guy 5 seconds to break in. ua-cam.com/video/f9ZBBus9Qxw/v-deo.html
That is an awesome stand Mitch the only thing I would tell you is during times when sales are slow the sun can slowing deteriate the bags I make them ahead and put in a shed the coloe does fade over time sales go up and down so I find I just have to keep a close eye on that but good luck I hope you have alot of sales so bags dont sit long but I do get what you mean about being able to go away and not lose sales
For sure, but it also depends on the type of bag. The first iteration of bags I got from Wolfe Ridge and also on Amazon, they deteriorate quickly! These bags I get locally at 50 cents apiece have held up great in the sun. I have had bags sitting for months in the sun and they are still good.
I have been looking for other bags if are available on line could you put the link in thanks
@@OutdoorsEngineer
$5 a bag? Bags are .74 each, I sell 1 cf for $10 or 3 for $25. Almost every sale I make is 3 for $25. That stand is killer BTW.
To be fair, I'm spending 0.50 each on the bags. I understand where you are coming from on the price. Most places around here are selling for $7-$9 a bundle now. Are you doing strictly on your honor cash?
Where did you get your signs? I am looking for something similar for my stand.
I have information and a link in the original build video. They were custom so if you send them an email he would set you up. ua-cam.com/video/zwjT9hkrxV8/v-deo.htmlsi=iGfz1WxQC1J53ag1
In the future I know of a guyblocally doing vinyl decals and I thought of getting a decal and adhering to a piece of aluminum for future price changes. Not sure. I'm very happy with the signs o have now though!
ok tank you for the information @@OutdoorsEngineer
Very impressive firewood stand! Would you mind sharing a link to the new cash box? NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE. Thanks, Tim in northern TN
Thanks! I can't believe I forgot to include that info in the description: Email Norm at thehonesthonorbox@gmail.com
@@OutdoorsEngineer does he have a website or Facebook page to look at the product?
@@CliffsideStables Not that I know of - I know Back 40 Firewood did a video on the two different sizes of payboxes.
Just my opinion so take it with a grain so salt ...... Instead of painting it to match the background what about painting it bright Yellow so draws attention to attract more customers.
THought of that, but I also have another one in the house that has input on the "look" so had to make her happy too! I am going to get my hands on one of those 15' flags this summer to hopefully draw some attention.
Don't you need all that bureaucratic nonsense? Betwixt climate heating, dangerous splinters, and what if someone gets mud on their shoe. Yeah, 'cool beans'!
Whatcha mean?
