- This week On the Road to Emmaus, Bishop Boyea is challenging each of us to foster a greater love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist by prayerfully meditating upon a great Eucharistic work of art: The “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” by the 15th century Flemish painters, Hubert and Jan Van Eyck, which is to be found within Saint Bavo’s cathedral in the Belgian city of Ghent. Hence the name, the Ghent Altarpiece.
Meditating upon a sacred image is a form of prayer known as Visio Divina or, in English, "Divine Seeing". To lead our meditation, Bishop Boyea introduces the Jackson-based artist, Joseph Jude Macklin. Enjoy!
