Every video you post I am reminded of the disparities between the ways we play the game in the community lol, who keeps a campain going 400 turns wtf
Honestly I would love it if the AI could set up some super-empire factions that actually pose a giant threat in the late game.
I’m pretty sure I reached 400 turns once in a campaign where I felt like painting the whole map Khorne red. Never again lol
@@4dealliance598 the challenge of the game is a real issue, so hard to adjust, people end up starting crisis turn 10-20 in lengendary but the end game remains the same..
I play till about turn 150, I don't steamroll at the start I turtle up and build a good army and economy, giving rivals a chance to do the same. I don't like using tier one units for the majority of a game.
Ok, I agree with almost everything. A lot of things to take into account though, like grudge units, rors and the warband mod that would change a lot of the dynamic here without removing your points. Thunderbarge for example that could could make earlier, still costly and less efficient but..
Got to disagree on Bolt Throwers. They trade accuracy and fire rate for model count, but that just means they benefit far more from veterancy and tech upgrades than any other dwarf artillery. I see them consistently outperforming cannons
There's also malakais adventures to contend with if your rating thunderbarges they gain a stupid amount of missed resist so unless your gonna bring lots of flying units good luck

Sure, play an entire army of them against champions of chaos, slaneesh or khorne and take a look at your casualties
I like to do 1 thunderbarge with 2-4 helicopter units to act as a vanguard.

why is there a unit cap on dread saurians but not thunder barges?
Also thunder barges ruin the auto resolve, so annoying.

feel like your view on the game is really out of touch lol. we playing campaigns for 200-400 turns man. tier 5 units are deff worth it. doom seekers crush everything. and flame cannons are insanely good. gyrocopters do almost no damage and die very quick. lol what are we talking about.
I mean, apparently CA-related statistics do back up the idea a significant amount of players call it by the turn ~50-100 mark (myself included a lot of the time) so whatever u think about that take, he isn't pulling it out of his ass, it is absolutely relevant to how a lot of people actually play the game, your 'we' is doing a lot of work there lol
And the thing about turn 200-400 is. You either should have already won, can easily start winning, or things have gotten so fucked that shit like unit tiers isn't your main concern. Just bc you haven't literally hit short/long/domination victory doesn't mean you haven't won. If you're in a position to field a full t5 stack, let alone multiple, you've already won, nothing even Legendary AI can do can actually stop you. These aren't the kind of games where u can really get suddenly blue-shelled outside of egregious user error, if you win hard early you'll probably win even harder later.
So at least from the tryhard perspective, yeah, the shit you do early is *exponentially* more important than the funny doomstacks you can make with 10k income and 100 settlements. You can and should debate the value of this, I certainly don't agree w his takes all the time for a bunch of reasons, but I do think he is meaningfully engaging with the state of the game that exists on its established terms.
I honestly rarely agree with Costin's opinions but nah, it's actually very rare for people to play past turn 100. TW:WH3 is very snowbally and majority of campaigns are basically won by turn 50 and just become map painting after that.
So far I've yet to achieve a Long campaign victory that took longer than 100 turns. Actually using tier 5 units isn't common and not worth halting your advance to replace units with global recruitment. Also if your lower tier armies are working just fine why upgrade and spend more gold? In many cases it is in fact better to spend that gold on a second low tier army than a single high tier one if you need more force in an area.
Also, If your gyrocopters are getting shredded you're not microing them enough or sending them into bad situations. A significant portion of the games roster cannot do anything about them. A single unit won't do much but a swarm of 5 have no issue deleting a unit. With decent micro you can shred half an army with this swarm before they even reach you.
Doom seekers are way too squishy and slow to actually be viable, just compare them to the Khorne counterpart. You don't need doomseekers as dwarfs anyway, you need tanky infantry to hold the line for your actually good ranged damage dealers
