Reason 2 is the one I agree the most with. Very few modern "SUVs" are true body-on-frame SUVs. If you want a unibody family vehicle, buy a minivan or a station wagon instead of some chuncky lifted blob that is masquerading as something with capability.
But people buy an SUV instead of a minivan, cause the Van is really uncool and seems just like a family car... Which is exactly what they need, but they just rather buy whatever is cool at the moment, and that happens to be practical this time ( like in europe, around 2000 cabriolets were considered trendy, but impractical of course... now the vehicle class that is considered trendy and cool are SUVs, that are also practical...) so they buy it

I do agree with you mate, there are too many SUVs in the UK. You'll still see sedans and coupes and even the occasional modified car here and there, but there's still too many SUVs in the UK.
The main takeaway is that SUVs are so compromised in terms of visibility, fuel economy, handling, and interior space. The things that SUVs are good at, like off-roading, are not being taken advantage of by SUV shoppers. The only reason why they buy them is because of their high seating position (eye roll), and because they THINK they need the extra space.

No matter where I park, a gigantic SUV or a full-size pickup truck ALWAYS parks right next to me (when there are plenty of other spaces available), fully blocking my view. I had to install x3 cameras on the rear bumper of my 2004 TL. The majority of people, regardless of which country, have no considerations to others. This one reason is enough for me to hate SUV's.
I've got a 90s Suburban and it does exactly what I need it to. When I haul my family it has ample seating for everyone to be comfortable, when I go scuba diving with more than one other person I can take the third row out and have ample room for gear and tanks (cold water in my area, so dry suits are essential), and when it snows in the winter, it has a proper 4 wheel drive system to get up the hill to get home. Finally, parts are cheap and plentiful and there is ample access to everything for maintenance and repairs, which I do myself.
It can't be a coincidence that almost 90% of SUV's I come across have the most incompetent dogshit drivers that god has forsakened the world with I can't put the dread that looms over my head when I see a Jeep Cherokee within a 5 meter radius on the road into words.

The only time when a station wagon is outclassed by an SUV is offroading, but nowadays, people who drive SUVs are boring grocery getters who are afraid to go on a slightly damaged road.
The worst thing, I think, is the handling. Trying to avoid getting in an accident should be top priority. A lower and lighter car will win every time. It steers better, brakes better, won't tip over and if a collision occurs it will likely be at lower speed and takes less force to stop.
I drove a crossover courtesy car whilst my car was being serviced and I went down a nice twisty road with it to see how it compares to my own car and my god did it feel unsettled they tried to make it handle better with a stiffer suspension but in the corners you could still feel body roll but it actually felt like it wanted to tip over and highly unsettled whereas my own car which is just a normal hatchback feels far more settled even at much higher speeds in the corners you might get understeer if you get too spirited but you never feel unsettled or like the car will tip over
I still believe there is a market for sedans and hatches, just think about elderly or single people who don’t have families, all they’d need is a car to get around in and they wouldn’t want a big SUV, all they’d need is a hatch or sedan.
My mum has a big Kia suv, it’s a comfy ride but everything else sucks about it everything is to high up it’s visibility is terrible you can’t see over the bonnet so you have to rely on a sensor when your to close to objects. Like wtf!
SUVs aren't bad cars, yes they are prone to rollover, they have blindspot problems, and some have terrible gas mileage. But their not bad cars, we do ofen see them everywhere and are replacing cars such as sedans, station wagons, minivans, and hatchbacks but still I don't think their bad since automobile marketing for SUVs are growing high in demand.

Wagons are my favorite vehicles - you can see your surroundings and maneuver on the road without endangering yourself and others. Plus, in a wagon, you can fold the seats down and there is enough room to lay down or haul timber! A true adventure vehicle. SUVs = Such Useless Vehicles

They also compromise the visibility of Other Drivers on the road.
I never got that high seating position point, I want to sit lover! Fells like I am more in control of my vehicle that way.

You said that SUVs are family vehicles. Why is it that you hardly ever see more than one or two people in them?
Yeah so true that space inside of them is a waste
SUVs are clogging the roads because the the people who drive them think bigger car = safer car, If you want a safe car buy a saloon or an estate car they are better in every single way possible
A S60 or a Model 3 won't kill you
Also for safety: they have very little agility for quick course corrections to prevent a collision and on the event of a collision that's an extra 500-1000Kgs of weight on the victim,
And resaon number 6: Game developers think they're fun to race with. No! They're boring, slow, and annoying to corner with. Give proper off-roaders, proper racing trucks, but quit it with the SUVs
