Borneo SECRET RAINFOREST Private Garden + 8 Creative Tropical Garden Design Tips!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- Tropical garden tour at a private residence in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. A small cosy little garden that looks like the jungle/ rainforest. Tropical plants includes many rare plants from the family of Alocasia, Ferns, Begonias from Borneo and the rest of Asia living in harmony with the the sought after Aroids - including the monstera obliqua, anthurium luxurians and a gigantic anthurium vietchii from Central America. Small space (that even boasts an outdoor shower!) with maximum impact using layers of planting and creative use of wood.

What a fantastic garden! I absolutely adore those plants. In the UK, we have to go to big botanical gardens in big glass houses to see such plants. But it's great to see a mini rain forest where it's the right natural growing conditions for these plants. Great video, your channel is one best I have seen. Keep up the excellent work!
Yes it's a plus here our climate but we do have to suffer bit of the mosquitoes!😬
Irene, as always your videos are so wonderful. I feel like I’m on a tour with my best plant friends. Excellent garden, beautiful plants, and great video.
Such a beautiful garden!! We are planning on heading to Sabah and Sarawak next year once things are a bit more settled (we've lived in Malaysia for 6 years now and have never been 😬😬). We are super excited!!
Thanks for showcasing such a beautiful part of the world (and your beautiful home state!!)
Ah yes it is quite heavenly for nature lovers!
The Aglaonema at 3:56 is Aglaonema commutatum 'Alumina', which was originally found in the province of Rizal on Luzon, while the vine at 17:40 is Phanera aherniana var. subglabra, which occurs in both Borneo and Palawan. Love the way you pronounce 'Alocasia'- the way it should be! However, 'reginae' should roll off the tongue as 're-hee-na-e', as there is no 'J' sound in Latin 😊
Thank you sooooo much for the vine ID and the correct way to pronounce Reginae!😊🤗🌱
@@leafing.around In English-speaking countries, there are two Latin pronunciations: classical Latin and church Latin. In classical Latin (i.e. academic Latin, which includes the Latin used for scientific names), "reginae" would be pronounced with the "j" sound. In church Latin (a.k.a. ecclesiastical Latin), it would be pronounced as "re-hee-na-e," as Jardinerong Sunog mentioned. However, in English-speaking countries, church Latin is pretty much only used when singing in Latin, and in traditional church services (e.g. Roman Catholic masses), not when naming plants. Since your video is in English, your English pronunciation of "reginae" was correct.
@@andreachang9998 WOW... I am simply blown away by your knowledge of Latin!!
Absolutely stunning!!! 🥰 Love how this garden is full of beautiful & desirable plants 😍
Salam kenal SIsTEr🤝 Sangat Bagus infonya bermanfaat, menginspirasi dan 👍👍

What a gorgeous garden! By the way, "tissue boy" seems to be a good job given the opportunities to visit all these great gardens! :)
Application will be open soon. Must be responsive. Bonus point if able to actively fan and follow me around 🤠
Amazing tour especially the water feature made out of drift wood and the ladder holding air plants. I enjoy watching your videos from Zone 10a Southwest Florida.
Beautiful, the plants look so healthy and happy since they’re pretty much in their environment hot and humid, thanks Irene for sharing!!!
In the Philippines there are so many Plants YT channels with high subscribers reaching 500k but the content is not close to this Channel.
You are just incredible. I love all your videos. An artist indeed
I love this garden! How amazing to walk among those big and bold leaves. 😍
I was so scared to knock over something or tear/break a leaf :P

Amazing! First time I’ve ever seen a garden in Borneo 💚 💚 💚
Loved the tour - ended too soon.💕
I was always worried the video will be too long! Shall try be more relaxed in my next tour shoot😁
Absolutely stunning!!! 殺 Love how this garden is full of beautiful & desirable plants 😍
Wow,great collection Ireene 😍,I'm impressed👍👍👍
Enjoy every bit of it! Thank you very much... especially when I watch it in an air-conditioned room and seeing you all sweating to walk us through the garden :). Being a foreigner living in KL, I have never thought of going to Kuching.... seems I should plan a trip later... after watching a lot of your recent video. :)
Hahaha....and yes I can know you will like this too ... a rainforest hike without walking when you are in Kuching. 😃 Search for "bamboo rafting Sarawak or Kuching". You just sit back as they paddle the raft for you thru the forest and it ends with a picnic by the river cooked for you using bamboo!
@@leafing.around Sounds great! Will check it out now!
The fact that she is enjoying it and appreciating everything so much makes it even better to watch
Waw indahnya 💝💞❣️💗🌳🌻🌴🌵🌱🌼🌹🌷🥀

OH Irene I loooove the melon ones and Duck webs were they ? I have been building a Plant rescue as I can not bare to see a plant struggling and abandoned , so effectively have inadvertantly created a Plant hospital in my little walk through yard , it is starting to look lush 😆have nooO Idea what most of them are called so I just give them their own names 🤣😂 I do enjoy your channel so much and have picked up many tips 🙏 thank you 🥰 much love from us here in Cornwall, UK near the coast.
IF ever you wish to come this far you will be greeted by very good hosts and we would put you up or pay for a place for you to stay 💗💗💗

wah mantap bgt ini good mobil keren ya dan bagus ka alur cerita ya
You know what, I think I’m gonna go back to live in the forest. When I was a little girl all these plants were around me in the forest so I am amazed when I hear certain plants come from certain places.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! WATCHING FROM PHILIPPINES
I think that begonia at 16:31 is Begonia Beefsteak or Begonia Red Fred but honestly I think a lot of begonias look that way! The plant at 18:22 reminds me of a piper of some sort or an argostemma diamond leaf but its def not the argostemma diamond leaf...
👍👍👍 Amazing, beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings 🕊🕊🕊

Alocasia origin from my country and town
I wonder how you remember the name of plants, they look almost same.. also no drama only plants, almost uncut video... superb!!
Haha.... what's a pleasant surprise to overheard Irene spoke Hokkien at the end of the video. "Sometimes I cannot remember the names of the plants."
your reaction to that philo albo..makes me laugh because that R.i.p. philo. albo is the episode that attract my attention..thats why i become your avid subscriber...aside your garden...iam also in love with this jungle like tropical garden... thank you ...coz igot some idea again to try for my tropical garden...

Extremely beautiful garden and video. How does the owner water the plants? Did not realised you are hokkien.
Mother tongue and Kuching in general speaks Hokkien😃
I found a begonia with pink dots but they took such poor care of them at the nursery I was scared it would just die
My son supposed to be in Borneo for their university studies but the pandemic hit in 2021 so they miss the opportunity to study some species in their thanks for showing us Borneo I wish I can go here
The red Heliconia is called the Giant Red Caribbean ( Heliconia caribaea purpurea )

Hillo สวัสดีครับ มาชมด้วยครับผม
You need to get rid of the music when the video starts, you can't hear what is being said at all, it is very annoying
17:50 does anyone know the name of the plant she couldn't think of please I love it ..??
I l ok be how excited you are 😊, I would be too!!! What a gorgeous garden
Very nice !
Can I check if these plants do well in the west facing area?
Wow very nice and beautiful garden. Watching from the Philippines
Not so sure about the sound track in the background.... But great tour!
It looks so dark past the chinese tiles. How much light does that get all day?
Insane collection. Oh man. I’m going to kuching soon. Wish I knew this person 😬😬
I know right? Simply breathtaking 😍
wow so amazing! Beautiful plants and all are doing so well
This is a very nice garden tour Irene, so green and lush. I wish mine is half as lush. Thank you for sharing and thank you also for putting the effort to film this video despite the heat and humidity.
Makes it all worth it with feedback like that. Thank you!
New to the channel, nice work!
At 3:33 maybe we have a Heliconia caribaea?
Wow wonderful plants and gardens, stay safe keep it up With Best Wishes 🍇🌹🌲🌺
สวย น่าทึ่งคะ
I have a philodendron Plowmanii. It keeps getting new leaves and they are beautiful green then they start turning yellow. I try magnesium and good fertilizer. I also just tried iron. It is under lights so it gets plenty of light and I do not water until almost dry.. What am I doing wrong? The stem is very stiff and nothing is mushy or rotting. It has 65% humidity. On the Colocasia. You can buy the bulb and it will do great if not left out in the raini before they start. Much cheaper than the plant. Colocasia love water and can be used in ponds.
I water mine everyday...turning yellow sounds like too much fert?
Borneo is indonesia, not malay. I think ur smart
it so very beautiful plants. I hope I can collect more plant for my small yard.
Beutiful music
Not to be a mood killer, but the Alocasia "Jacklyn" is actually called Tandurusa. The lady that claims she found it (and named it after herself) has been debunked several times and it's not a legitimate name. :)
Yes ...now I recall I heard some story about this! ☺️
I'm curious, how does the owner water all these plant?
OMG.... I LIKE YOU PLANT, SAMA HOBBY KITA DENGAN TANAMAN. SALAM DARI SULAWES SELATAN INDONESIA...
Thanks for all the great vedio and also the owner who allows us to view
Seems you all grow in pots. Do you have bad soil?
