The other cars were certainly louder than anything you´d ever encounter in the streets, but as soon as a Mercedes came into frame, the other cars sounded pretty tame and quiet in comparison. Never thought a SRT V8 would be "quiet and tame" in comparison to *anything*, but there ya go. The C63 did it...
We need more motorsports like this here in the states... TUSCC and Indycar are pretty good, and NASCAR hasn't been bad lately, but a series like this would be amazing.

That is the sound of the loud straight cut gearboxes, they use in this series, they make that whine, the M3 in this championship were all natually aspirated
I forgot to ask: Does anyone know that level of regulations this series follows? As in GT3-level, GT2-level, above, below...? They looked quicker than GT3 to me, though I might of course be mistaken.
Well well, high RPMs (less Torque, hu?) from Audi and BMW against the American >5.0 litres torque and inbetveen...the AMG with a Sound and Performance that kickz others Asses :-)
Because DTM cars use a 180 degree flat plane crankshaft in their engine, which makes them sound a bit 4 cylinders, whilst these cars, and most road going v8s use a 90 degree cross plane crankshaft, which gives them that deep v8 rumble we all know.
Such a shame this series is dead. We need more of those Mercs in our lives

I didn't know the IS f was a v8. to me the RS5 and M3s sounded the best.
RS5 and ISF sounded almost the same to me. 300C, C63 and Camaro were most V8 sounding.
It has a turbo V6 but the NatAsp V8 is a option
