Merry Christmas! I suspect there may have been an issue with notifications with my last video. Or there is a lack of interest in the subject. It was one of my favourite type to do all about the interesting systems on ships if interested here it is ua-cam.com/video/38bqccV1sEg/v-deo.htmlsi=6XtCgQIL427Utn9S
The red prefab buildings resemble stained hardwood from a distance, which is much more aesthetic than Boring Old White. Prefab doesn't have to be ugly. 2:38 - I have that exact same emergency light in my garage, and those two heads throw a decent amount of light. It has your typical 6v SLA battery inside, the type that's been in use for decades and is readily available. In fact, the ease at which I can get a non-proprietary replacement is the main reason for choosing that model. No "pillow pack" batteries, or oddly-shaped shrink-wrapped arrangements of individual cells, just a boring plastic rectangle that costs under $15 at [insert home improvement chain here]. I keep forgetting to do a FULL test run on it, but I've been able to get almost three hours with one additional remote LED head, without it shutting off. When I connected the two incandescent bulbs in my Exit sign to that, I got about 90 minutes before it shut down, which to be fair isn't bad, considering ~90 minutes would be the normal for the Exit sign on its own backup battery. (I had to rip out the charging circuit, there was a LITERAL smoking-hot resistor soldered to a lifted pad, so the quick-fix was to just tie them together. Nothing is more permanent than a temporary solution!) That horn on the scooter... 🤣 Freakin' HILARIOUS! And yet so totally YOU. Merry Christmas (and Happy Boxing Day) to everyone!
I’ve worked on these new LED devices. I did a brand new install on a school transit shop building and it used these devices. System is a firelite es-50x.
just so you know, at the beginning of the video, you blur the name of the school on the annunciator map, but there are a few frames before the blur appears that the name is visible.
The SpectrAlert Advance/L-Series horn in your scooter operation is kinda an elevator alarm button on ThyssenKrupp elevator but the sound it plays is an EST Genesis which they either got the sound from installing one or making the alarm piezo play the sound file
EST QS deserved to be replaced because I'm sick of it, that's all that's in my area. Nice to see you back to doing school stuff again. Keep the great videos Nic. EDIT: Didn't realize it was the 'hard of hearing school" at first.
I've Never seen Gentex in your UA-cam Channel before where you are in Canada. I had Seen Gentex Commander 3 and 4 in the Middle and High Schools, They use Silent Knight Systems which is the Panel that My School District uses for all Schools
The schools at my school district that I went mostly used Silent Knight systems but very few used different systems In one of my middle schools, the portables have P2RKs on the outside, white L series on the inside, and the band room and its lobby have white ceiling advances (the main school had Gentex Commanders on fast code 3)
@pfefferwal Both Schools have Gentex and Silent Knight Pull Stations, Smoke/Heat/Duct Detectors. But The Outdoor Notification Appliances are Different, The Middle School has Gentex Commander 2's in Weatherproof Cases, They Still Sound but don't flash sonce they worn out. But the High School has Spectralert Advances outside and Work Fine
I think all of the horn strobes in the new edition need to be set to low volume instead of high volume. It sounds like it's on high volume to me in the new edition
Here's what happened after it was pulled 1. 1 second delay because of the pull station to set off the panel on flashscan due to the large amount of devices 2. 2 second delay to set off the control module to trigger the booster panel from the main school building booster control module to the addition booster 3. 2 second delay for the fire alarms to go off because the LED L-series has a long delay in order to sync correctly if the sync is stable on a non-Honeywell system or after it does selective silence, to make sure it syncs it with xenon L-Series on the system instantly without the 2 seconds of being out of sync where's devices before the L-series would do this, to make sure the sync or power tells it go off on temporal 3 (white strobe flash) or temporal 4 (yellow strobe flash) The 3rd part also describes what System Sensor sync is all about
thats so cool but i think this vido needs a warning some people can have very bad reactions to seeing flashing lights it can cose seizures in some people

I didn't receive notification. But yours isn't the only channel that has happened with. I will check each channel for new videos regularly.
Are you doing the new years fire alarm soundoff live this year? I asked on insta but got no reply?
I do hope that i messaged you rather than another random person on the internet.
Good video as per usual though Nic!
@thecomputech3353 probably will do it
Love this Nick and that scooter horn is hilarious. Look forward to the big bell ringing Tuesday night
Merry Christmas Nic!!! Also love your horn on the scooter. And funny that your old co-worker was so shocked by it got me laughing 😂
Sick bike horn!
The electric scooter reminds me of the time I mounted a 10 inch electric vibrating bell on my bicycle when I lived in Ottawa.
Merry Christmas nic i like the fire alarm horn on your scooter and nice fire alarm test i also saw dsc neo at 3:25 that is my fav security system
When you said “WhO aNgLed TheSe” got me laughing lol 😂

Did you end up lowering the volume on some of the ones in the addition?
It probably will be done at some point
just so you know, at the beginning of the video, you blur the name of the school on the annunciator map, but there are a few frames before the blur appears that the name is visible.
I can’t believe there was gentex commander 3 blue and red strobe good job Nic ❤❤❤❤❤ 1:56
5:22 First time I've seen handicap door buttons like that. Weird.
They’re more accessible for people of all heights, they’re quite common around where I live. New panic bars are also huge like that. Same reason
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Boxing Day! 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Yay!!!!! Did they ask you to come along even though you’re not working in the field anymore?
Wow those led fire alarms are cool and amazing
The SpectrAlert Advance/L-Series horn in your scooter operation is kinda an elevator alarm button on ThyssenKrupp elevator but the sound it plays is an EST Genesis which they either got the sound from installing one or making the alarm piezo play the sound file
Ironically I just got a new panel. Also I like that schools old system tbh
Is the pull station at 2:19 conventional? If so does it run to a module to be addressable?
Addressable.
@ interesting it looked like the way conventionals do so I thought it might be cause I see ones like at my college.
EST QS deserved to be replaced because I'm sick of it, that's all that's in my area. Nice to see you back to doing school stuff again. Keep the great videos Nic.
EDIT: Didn't realize it was the 'hard of hearing school" at first.
I NEED THAT SCOOTER NOW 🤣
Pretty nice test nic 😊 , very nice new buliding 😍 . And Merry Christmas 🎄🎅❄️🎁
Hey Nic it seems like you are working with school district again
Just a visit
How did you install a fire horn in your scooter
Connecting it to the battery and a momentary switch
Nice horn scooter😂😂
I hope you do a video on the scooter horn.
bro lucky that school my middle school is like 150 years old. and if the fire alarm goes on it's SO SO SO LOUD like actually
And like usual, they installed the ISO Exit signs (Yes, I know, It’s what is required in Canada)
Oh nooooo they put horn strobes in the classrooms on high the poor kids

Can you do something on tamper valve switch soon?
What about them?
I think all of the horn strobes in the new edition need to be set to low volume instead of high volume. It sounds like it's on high volume to me in the new edition
Yes they most likely all could be.
When you have horn strobes in the classroom. Shouldn’t they be on a low volume and the ones in the hallways be on high volume?
To meet minimum decibel requirements they could both be on low volume
sounds closer to the advances than the L series
Maybe
7:05 NO WAY
3:25 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Who burped?
The scooter has a spectalert advance horn
Yes
3:35 RIP your hearing headphone users with your volume at 100% NIC'S - SYSTEMS & ELECTRIC and your partners
How did you get your scooter horn to sound like a SpectrAlert Advance/System Sensor L-Series?
By installing one
@nics-systems-electric Nic, upload a video of installing a fire alarm for the scooter
Hey Nic. Are you working for the school district again?
No
Great video
POV: Christmas Day is so boring.
On the scooter? Nothing is safe 😂
Fr😂
Cool vid, Nic. BTW, it's an addition not edition. That means version or form.
Yeah, I'm dumb.
@@nics-systems-electric you ain't dumb, shit happens. I went to public schools too.
Merry Christmas!!!
I was watching you sine 2021😢
It seems like Addition areas are high volume so they should do low volume
I saw something about being a school for “hard of hearing” school. But does seem loud.
@@Defianthuman Should be low volume just like the rest of the schools with the strobes on 110 Candela
Merry Christmas Nic
7:54 I thought that was the real building fire alarm
6:33 I thought you said you weren’t working for the school district anymore
my led l. series mini horn strobe broke really fast =(
LED FIRE ALARMS
3:30 - 3:35 that was very delayed 💀
Here's what happened after it was pulled
1. 1 second delay because of the pull station to set off the panel on flashscan due to the large amount of devices
2. 2 second delay to set off the control module to trigger the booster panel from the main school building booster control module to the addition booster
3. 2 second delay for the fire alarms to go off because the LED L-series has a long delay in order to sync correctly if the sync is stable on a non-Honeywell system or after it does selective silence, to make sure it syncs it with xenon L-Series on the system instantly without the 2 seconds of being out of sync where's devices before the L-series would do this, to make sure the sync or power tells it go off on temporal 3 (white strobe flash) or temporal 4 (yellow strobe flash)

Cool video
Nic where can I get some end of line resistors for my est i0500
Just buy them on Amazon they're very cheap
@ ok thanks. I don’t even have any alarms yet though😭.but I’m just trying to get some before to prepare if I do actually find a alarm
Nice
I was his first visit on this vid
ok?
Don't care about you being 1st
@@LoganHester-1489fr
oh look nic didnt reply to you because he doesnt care he replied to someone else first
Gentex!
Gentex
Wow Nic 1 view in 11 seconds you fell off my guy
Ik
@nics-systems-electric still wants his cookies from a year ago
6:33 I thought you said you weren’t working for the school district anymore
That's right I don't anymore.
