  • In October 2022, the City of Moreton Bay Council installed nine CoastSnap citizen-science coastal photo monitoring stations.
With CoastSnap, local residents and visitors can collect high-quality data, from fixed stations, to monitor and measure changing shoreline conditions.
CoastSnap enables Council to view how the coastline changes so we can better manage our beaches.
After 12 months of data, we have compiled a composite video from the Queens Beach North station at Scarborough on the Redcliffe Peninsula.
The clip shows a fairly stable beach and front dune protected by grass and fencing.
Moreton Bay CoastSnap - it is as simple as “see it, snap it, share it”.
