Last Concorde Landings at Heathrow

- Taken on 24th October 2003, showing the final ever three landings by British Airways Concordes into runway 27R at Heathrow. Quite an amazing experience as they all came in one after the other.

Concorde was amazing, standing 200 foot under the plane at takeoff with the afterburns glowing at dusk was a pretty amazing site. Concorde wasn't unsafe - the French incident related to poor procedures on the part of Air France and bits dropping off other planes - debris on the runway. Certainly BA Concorde was safe because they had different tyre procedures. It was not a great day for humanity Concorde was an amazing engineering achievement unlikely ever to be repeated.
CORRECT
Thankyou for sharing this moment in history
She may have been noisy but she was the most elegant and beautiful plane ever built. The ppl of Britain still miss her!
Yep. That afternoon 27L was the arrivals runway with 27R for departures. They halted departures on 27R for a few minutes to bring the 3 Concordes in one after the other.
Good video! Great landings like she always had :)
Famous quote from, I think ITN, "There's only one Concorde, and here come three of them".
'COLEMAN BALLS'
concordes are cool to bad there gone now.good video
Cant believe that in 8 days time this event would b 10 years ago ;(
what a great aircraft.sadly missed.
that makes me sad
Well that's just music to me!! :-)
A Very Sad day indeed!
The last one should've done, like an immense flyby. Just fe' banter
It's somewhat strange that we've taken a step backwards in terms of technology, shunning a fast efficient plane in favour of slower methods of travel.
One giant leap backwards for the world of aviation !!
she uesd to come in to exeter some times right over my house very low god what a noise miss it.we used to rush out to the garden to watch
the first time mankind took a step backward......
does anyone know which concorde it is thats standing on the tarmac at heathrow these days?
If the 747 went out of service, nobody would give a shit.
A Boeing is just another plane, where as Concorde was something special.
And I was there mmm 😥
What is the point of comparing it to a 747? Clearly it was not designed to compete with the 747, it was a supersonic aircraft. We're all well aware of the commercial drawbacks of Concorde, and so are the airlines which is why it's not running anymore. So thanks.
its not only the uk they were stopped worldwide, neway y did they take the concorde out of service?
@jamesw2706 me to
It was supersonic.
It was the only realistic supersonic passenger aircraft.
Were you born under a rock?
well thats kind of obvious.
Shame they have gone. The US and the French killed Concorde. French due to lack of checking the runway and the US for the metal strip plus they didn't like the idea that it wasn't a boeing.
When the 747-400 is be removed, this will make more impact as it is the best boeing aircraft seller ever made.
japan and france are currnetly working on a 330 passanger supersonic
Have they finished drawing it yet ? 2018.
Were you born under a rock? Of course they wen't supersonic! 3hrs 30 mins London to NY. Looks like it will be the only passenger aircraft to fly supersonic! America never ordered them because it wasn't an American venture!
dawg. sure, it was a cool plane but... uhhh.... ur like WE MISS U CONCORDE WE LOVED U SO MUCH HuNK OF MEtAL AND GAS. a bit far dont u think?
Nope - Concorde was a quantum step forward in passenger travel and it has not been equalled. It is worthy of our praise and adulation.
lol...thats lame "run out into the garden"
