  • On a windy and wet day at London Heathrow Aerospatiale/BAC Concorde G-BOAF of British Airways is shown on Concorde's final flight. She taxies out to runway 27R. The RT with the tower captures the full emotion of Captain Les Brodie on his final flight. This is enhanced by comments from the pilot of an American 777, 'Concorde your beautiful', and the runway checker, who has been checking for debris for the last 7 years. After the fire hose farewell she roars off down the runway, climbs, turns left and she is gone.
I similarly roared off down the M4 to the M32 interchange and parked on the M32 hard shoulder. I had about 20 minutes to wait, the sun had now come out as she appeared for the approach into Bristol Filton for the final time. i was incredibly lucky with this shot, as 2 minutes after she passed the police arrived and moved everyone on. Plus the black clouds providing the contrasting background in Wales, turned into the most tremendous downpour ten minutes later as I drove up the M5.

Marvelous video. As an American aviation enthusiast I had the privilege of seeing the Concorde many times at JFK New York. I remember thinking that it looks like it’s doing Mach 2 just sitting there. I also told people who asked that the Concorde taking off was the closest sound to a rocket. Thank you, Britain and France for providing some of the most spectacular plane spotting I ever saw. 👍❤️
