This album is a masterpiece one of the best albums from this band very underrated
I think it's the best F & J ever did
One of the best thrash albums of the era..not a weak track to be found.
I prefer their first album
Quite possibly the Most underrated album in thrash metal. This one’s a scorcher but I think Eric’s vocal style may have held them back slightly. This was also Jason’s last release with the group as far as writing contributions, not recording so that I always dug that as well. Definitely in my top 20 thrash releases ever…
@@abusivesystems9844 Very true. Didn't F&J struggle with songwriting for a bit after Jason left? It makes me curious what the band would be like if he stayed with. I think Jason co-wrote three songs on this album: No Place For Disgrace, N.E. Terror and I Live, You DIe.
Bar none. This is heartwarming lol
been trying to get the Lost in Vegas channel to react to this tune. Others as well but think the post gets buried down the pg.
such an underrated thrash band that had the talent like the Big 4.
I was 16 when they released this album. Now I'm 49 and I keep listening to it. Nothing more to say.
I feel the same , Mate
Yes 'sir ..
The good old teenage days, when everyone else was busy listening to trash pop. We were feasting on this. Aged like a really good fine wine.
Exact same age brother ..was in a band ..used to sing and play several of these tunes ..people were not ready for it yet 😅 ..not till Metallica got famous
Those were the days.... Im 49 too...
The wonderful cover reflects the drama of the entire album, one of the best trash metal albums of the 80s and 90s
Amazing album. Flotsam is so underrated. This will always be a fond memory of my youth.
Have you heard the last 4 albums of them....?
@@xtremeunderratedmusic I have them ALL my friend. www.metal-archives.com/bands/Flotsam_and_Jetsam/621
@@DarkEyesofSorrow Great man...me too....i think from the cold and after they had release very very good albums...the end of chaos i yhink is after the three classic ones in the ranking...
Im with you bro.!! My personal favorite tho is Doomsday... Fell in love with these fuckers ever since I heard their demod song on Metal Masscre 7 I believe.. "I live you die". Such an underrated band..these dudes will obliterate SO many of the popular bandwagon-to-like-bands like sucky ass Megadeth..no comparison.
Them with king diamond was good show.
The lost era of albums that you can jam out to from start to finish. \m/
3:08 chills up my spine❤❤💖💖
agreed..
At the peak of their musical creation. This album was as good as any other thrash album from this era. Masterpiece!!! The debut was great as well.
Definitely is a masterpiece.Flotsam and jetsam career has three eras for me.
First 1984- 1990:Three amazing albums ( very bad that fans don't realize how great album when the storm comes down is).
Second 1991 - 2009 : very mid tempo albums with great musicality but in the shadow of 90s grunge albums like quarto and drift (which for me still remains classic albums) drawn in that wave. High album was a bit of wrong comeback .
Then they release the most piramatic album 'unnatural selection' and the second era close with 'my god' and 'dreams of death' wich was good albums but they had lost the motivation in general.
Third 2010-2021 : This era begins with an album 'The cold' that is a well hidden treasure for the fans and i never understand why the fans didn't embrace it. Songs like better off dead, the cold, hypocrite, take, should be in any live set list.
They continue with 'ugly noise' which for me is a very good album but with
More melodic direction and that helps eric to shine once again but the fans again they don't support them.
And when the bands name was a mediorce feeling to metalheads worldwide then they release 2016 self titled 'flotsam and jetsam' that blow our minds...michael spencer is back, jason bitnner were tremendous and band was again a killing gang as the first era...the afm records made a good work for promoting the band and tgey tour a lot worldwide...tge fans and the reviewers hug the self titled and they waiting the next strike...jason bitnner left the band and the band makes the best decision ...they join forces with outstanding ken Mary... they release 2019 the 'end of chaos ' that left our jaws on the floor and all the band shines as the 80's ....a pure masterpiece and i think the new 'blood in the Water' will be masterpiece too as much i heard for now....
Flotz till death...
Ningún otro como este...
I didn't care for much of F&J stuff, but I always thought this album was plain amazing.
This is already a masterpiece record since the bass line is badass and the whole instrument is, Jason Newsted was the Heart Commendable guy in this band since his contribution to three of the songs here were top-notch I mean look at this Underrated album being posted but very important as an outstanding aura which most people don't seemingly recognize in Most Thrash Metal Topics, this album needs more recognition I love this already man, Progy Thrash with great vocal Harmonies sounds like Forbidden.
Troy Gregory
Creo que en este LP no toca Jason ... sino TRoy

My best thrash metal album from the 80s. I was 15 when I heard it, I was so impressed. Still I am.
This album came out right after i did 90 days in rehab(wasnt even 18 and a major alcoholic) in May 1988. Always loved Eric Knutson's vocals!
the bass is placed perfectly in the mix
the technology did exist in 1988
Analog mixes was sounding much better than digitals...

i think the first 5 album from flotsam is masterpieces ...Me when i hear this one i wanna break a wall
Yep, me too, i take my katana and go onto battle take some heads, hé hé. More seriously this is really a masterpiece of thrash/ speed. The riffs are just crushing every time and the voice of eric is unforgettable. One of the best, if not the best singer of thrash scene. got the vinyl.thx for upload
I have to admit, is the first time i heard this album, and i really upset to not listen more choices in my early metal years, this is a beauty, very thrash album, powerfull, in those years i was more foccused in Metallica, megadeth, anthrax, sepultura, testament, now i´m more death metal kind of music, but i´m gonna add this album to my favs 🤘🤘
More Thrash Metal albums from that time I recommend to check out (if you are not already familiar with them): Coroner - any album, Forbidden - "Forbidden Evil", Hexenhaus - "A Tribute to Insanity", Anacrusis - "Suffering Hour" and "Reason", Znowhite - "Act of God", Détente - "Recognize No Authority", Sacrilege - "Within the Prophecy", Voivod - "Killing Technology", Toxik - "World Circus", Mekong Delta - "Mekong Delta".
The fuckin album is a really brutal journey. This the first time that I hear it complete, I've just listened two or three songs in the past like; Escape from within or No Place for Disgrace, and since then I was really interested of the band, but now that I listened the full album, man, this is real music, the holy album has all; armony, melody, velocity, attack, effects, details. I can't believe that they could make sound to Elton John heavy. This is a fuckin masterpiece.
Most underrated band ever
Yeh especially with the last 4 albums they had release...from the cold ,the self titled, world of chaos, blood in the water,
Most undersized band

Brilliantly written and composed album! Thrash at it best hands down, it doesn't get any better than this! If you're a real head banger this album should be your #1 in your collection! 🤘
A milestone of thrash. Insane perfection from a band that should have rightfully gained more popularity back then. No serious thrash/speed collection can omit this. They have always reminded me of a thrashier version of classic USPM bands, blending a very melodic compositional sense, with crushingly heavy classic thrash riffs, and an overall bleak and semi paranoid atmosphere. The next album (When The Storm Comes Down) , is definitely the most underrated thrash metal album in history.

I think Flotsam and Jetsam deserve the recognition that Megadeth or metallica have. You must hear the last three albums and the new songs from the upcoming Blood in The water....the level in going high and we must support them.
I began listening to fltsom jetsom back in 1993 -94 and I was 39 in nursing scholl ; I like listening while skating either my board or inline .. I still d; there is no equivvilent ..
I've listened to both versions back to back now and the old recordings are clearly the better ones. The new version isn't bad, but didn't really need it.
If the label hadn't messed up the master tapes, a remaster would have sufficed.
Although, the sound is still really crisp and powerful today.

My opinion but they can they can rival any of the so-called big four thrash bands ever as a matter of fact I think they're they're better than one or two of the so-called for Big four Easy .
Yeah, I listen to much more of their body of work than Metallica (they have entire albums I NEVER listen to).
