  • Watch the whole video because near the very end there's a REALLY important tip for people still struggling.
    Also forgot to mention the first backdash must have an extra back input to start. So b b, db, b, n, then go into b db b as shown.
    Seems like a lot of people are having trouble with the so called "free" back input needed to correctly korean back dash cancel, so here's a video explaining how to do it properly.

    Thank you! The slight tweak to bring it back up to register the final back input was what I suspected but no other tutorial verified it! I was confused about the free back input and I was getting a lot of d/db/n inputs that ended my kbd. I was even looking at getting a Korean stick in case my lever wasn't suitable. Thanks again

    Been playing tekken 7 from two years but things never clicked to my head whenever i tried to backdash and on top of that Due to my slow pickup habit i sucked at movement but thanks to you man, now i got everything right , i was just cancelling my backdash way too earlier and that gave my guy a sloppy movement. After following your method now i can do backdash correctly 75% of the time. your guidance was flawless!!!!

    i know the video is more than a year old, but something i struggle is the timing for the 2nd player kbd. do you know the bpm or the kbd/minute of the motion? on 1st player I do on the fasttest way possible and get consistent backdashs but if i try the same speed on P2, the inputs are correct on screen but the backdash wont come out

    • @DrunkDudley
      @DrunkDudley Рік тому +1

      Korean stick or Japanese stick will works on all fighting games yes, and most shoot-em-ups ( Shmups) as for regular games it might work but it would be trublesome to play anything 3D that needed camera scrolling with the other right stick, for 2D platformers it should work just fine.

    Thanks, this was helpful. I’m assuming speed comes with repetition. I can KBD on pad all day, but I picked up a Panthera as a way of challenging myself and it’s been kicking my ass.

    • @velocity6306
      @velocity6306 5 років тому

      ndiluso I picked up my Panthera on Black Friday so I’ve had some time to get use to the motion, I’m pretty 50/50 right now. My input is pretty choppy, my problem is giving the slight nudge back for the second b input. I’ve seen some people do it by just barely hitting the db enough for it to register and it will automatically give you the second b input, but that also gives me issues. Idk how to fix it, I try slow reps but the second I start to try and add any speed my inputs start flying everywhere.

    • @edsoad
      @edsoad 5 років тому

      @@velocity6306 How are you going now? It takes time, but you might be having problems trying to recreate what he is doing 1:1. He's using a korean lever which have different microswitches and tension. The default lever that comes with a Panthera is a Japanese lever. They're pretty different in feel, and aren't constantly pushing against your hand when you move it (at least noticeably). A Korean lever is applying pressure to your hand so instead of forcing it into the "back" switch during the korean back dash you just guide it as youre releasing from "down back" to the neutral position.
      If you're still struggling I'd suggest getting a higher tension spring for your lever, or investing in a korean lever.

    • @velocity6306
      @velocity6306 5 років тому

      ed still just having trouble with consistency, that’s the biggest issue by far. I’ll get in a rhythm and then overthink the input and my execution will go down the drain.

      im having the same problem. pretty sure you need to release the stick so it comes off down first, then you get a back input on its way back to neutral. its a very subtle difference from just releasing back to neutral
