Fished for mostly largemouth until a friend from work introduced me to smallmouth in a creek here in Central PA last year. They are by far my favorite fish to target now for the reason you stated in the very beginning. I'm lucky the Susquehanna is close by too!
@@FishingwithNatcould you do a video on catfish? I am trying to catch every fish in my local pond and one of the only ones I didn’t catch are catfish..
@@chickyproductions4347 Are the ones in the pond bullheads or channel cats? I'm hoping to do a video on catfish. I'm going out this weekend to try to film them underwater - wish me luck.
One thing i found interesting is where to catch smallmouth is in rivers, dams, and spillways. Pretty good educational video, i would like to see white/hybrid/striped bass video. Also, keep doing you! 👍🎣
@@FishingwithNatIf you have time and want to catch wipers, me as a mid-western would suggest Iowa, specifically Iowa City and its spillway/dam. Though theres alot of people there, so I would suggest going there pretty early in the morning.
Great vid as always brother, got a football smalljaw Thursday late at night on a spook, for some reason the bigger ones fight less than the lil shavers! Lol it's like they know theyre gonna get released so they say eh screw it lol
I've been working on it along with a few others. I'll be spending a few days on a nice walleye spot this coming week so I hope to get some more underwater footage of them.
Beautiful videos, I just discovered them. Can you make more videos on catching lake and river trout? Also on trolling and jigging as fishing techniques?
Thank you. Yes, I will be making more of these with a mix of common species and uncommon (or poorly understood) species. I'm working on a video featuring jigging techniques too.
Hey, Nat. I fish for trout, panfish, and bass. I use spinners like rooster tails and panther martins and soft plastics with jigheads. What would be the most all-around rod choice in both power and action to fit all of that pretty well?
I'd recommend a 6.5-7ft medium-light, fast action. It can handle any of those species unless you're after really big ones or fishing in heavy cover. I made this video below for beginner anglers looking to expand their fishing gear collections. ua-cam.com/video/rhhBPNUXYis/v-deo.html
More to come. I have more of these in the works - a mix of popular fish species and lesser known, underappreciated species. Muskies are hard to film underwater compared to some of the others!
Could you do a series for REAL begginers? I know how to cast, but I've never actually completely handled a fish once I've gotten one on the line. I've also never dispatched a fish or done anything like that and I would like to learn please.

Both of those baits are good for smallies. You might need to try a different habitat. Try going deeper or near major structure (laydowns, rock bars, stumps...)
Bama what lures would you use for a canal thats less deep than 10 feet and the fish hang around the inlet specifically targeting large and smallmouth bass
Best fishing channel on UA-cam!
Thanks - I appreciate your support
Let's Go, Fishing with Nat posted!
🙂
My fav fish ! Here in Minnesota we are blessed with thousands of smallie lakes. Have had days where I caught over 70 fish !
Sounds awesome!
There’s a lake near me which in the summer has the best smallmouth bass fishing ever. Easy 100 fish days. So fun. Love these guys
Sounds awesome!
That smallmouth may have showed the bowfin not to come near but by my assumption a bowfin would probably win a fight if they some reason did
I agree. Don't mess with bowfin.
Yea don’t mess with those guys😅

Thanks for the feedback. We don't have stripers or hybrids (wipers) here but we do have white bass. That would be a fun species to cover too.

Can you do a video like this on chain pickerrel
Pickerels are hard to find around here for me to film or catch, but I'd love to.
Can you make a video about walleye
It's on the list 🙂
thank you

I’ve heard curly tail grubs in 3 or 4 inch sizes catch numbers and size of smallmouth
Curlytail grubs will catch almost anything. Some with a jig and swimbait.

@@FishingwithNat thank you I will!
For the last two days I've targeted smallmouth and only gotten a few really small ones using 3 inch paddle tails and jerk baits
Both of those baits are good for smallies. You might need to try a different habitat. Try going deeper or near major structure (laydowns, rock bars, stumps...)
@@FishingwithNat thanks nat. I'll try that out this week
next time can you do trout if its okay?
I'd like to do a couple of different trout but I have a different fish up next.

I'd try a jig and swimbait or an inline spinner like a large Rooster Tail
@@FishingwithNat paddle tail or fluke?
@@raulisrael7342 Paddletail. A fluke could be a good option too though.

@@raulisrael7342 Dropshots work in shallow water too.
Can u make video of how to catch snake head?
Snakeheads don't occur around here so I'm not able to get underwater footage of them or fish for them. Maybe I'll travel to catch them one day.
@@FishingwithNat ok!
Can you make "life of channel catfish"?
Yes, I plan to!

It will come but I'm working on several others right now and getting out to do more underwater filming of various species.
Carp would disagree.
Carp do put up a really good fight!
