SO happy we’re finally getting this look for Wonder Man! This is the costume he wore when I was reading comics as a kid, so this is the look I associate with him most.
This version of Simon is definitely goes with the classic Avengers. Modern Wonder Man can go on the West Coast team.
Seams to be using the entire Red Skull body mold. Classic Avengers are thr core of my collection. I will definitely be picking him up.
Always thought his jacket was supposed to be a Director's-style jacket because of his connection to Hollywood & making movies. Sort of a visual reminder of his hammy, movie star quality. Love it. Good review, govna'

So glad we’re getting this version. I’m doing a ‘84-‘85 both coasts Avengers squad. With the rumored Hawkeye and sky sled and Monica Captain Marvel coming later this year, I’ll only need 80s MockingBird and Star Fox.
This was always my favorite version of Wonder Man. Probably why I'm so disappointed with the planned Disney+ series that won't look anything like him at all. The red jacket, specs, and yellow jet belt are awesome.
The actor they have for him is amazing so I still have faith, just depends on what the story is.

I just came from our trip to Asia, I think they have an agreement there against single use plastic.. we had to bring our own shopping bags in stores... wow, your followers in Asia need a shoutout Dan, I get notifications from you at 3 AM..lol!..jk, I know you appreciate them.
I'm loving this look. I really am making my Avengers display is just random from different looks. I like to show a mix if eras for them. He will fit in Nicely.

I'd have liked his turtle neck sweater to have been black instead of blue, and the zipper isn't really something that this type of jacket ever had. That's why it looks so odd that the zipper is open at the bottom, yet fastened above the belt. Hasbro got the details wrong! This is a field jacket, also commonly called a hunting jacket or safari jacket. They are used by sportsman hunters. There are so many pockets in the front of the jacket because those pockets were used to hold shotgun shells and other times of ammunition. These field jackets had buttons to fasten them together in the front, and many had hidden buttons on the inside flap. It is these hidden buttons that Wonder Man jacket is supposed to have. The character, Hannibal Smith, from the television's THE A-TEAM, wore a field jack similar to Wonder Man's, though Hannibal's jacket was a khaki color. No zipper on this type of jacket! Sorry, Hasbro, but that's just not right.
Why is Wonder Man's pants so baggy? They were pretty much skin-tight in the comic books that I remember, and his hair was always a gray color when he wore this particular outfit, so it's odd that Hasbro has opted for jet black.
I love this figure as it is, but Hasbro should do a little more homework before they delve into classic character looks. Clearly none of them remember those comics, or are particularly familiar with them. The devil's in the details, after all, and those small things add up to detract from the final look of this for me. Your mileage is sure to vary. I still preordered this figure, because this is my favorite Wonder Man look, and we're not likely to get this look again any time soon. I'm just going to be doing some repainting and tweaking before I can be content with this one.

A pretty decent looking figure. I remember him and Beast being best mates when Wondy had this look.
To my eye, the shoulders sit a little low on the body, but still looks good. I'm amazed Hasbro put effort in to painting the zipper. So unlike them. The head decco is leaps and bounds better than the original, plus the hand options are an improvement. Mo tiny fists or redundant C-grips.

Classic Mockingbird being more important to me, but I'm thinking that Hasbro will unfortunately drag its collective feet completing a team once again for still a long time. There's actually a pattern here: Feral for X-Force, Wolfsbane for X-Factor, Rachel/Phoenix for Excalibur and, of course, classic Mockingbird. I'm probably missing a few here.
Oh yeah! I forgot that Hank Pym was in like a red jump suit during that run. Need that figure too.
@@TheQuebecDragon I’m shocked that we are even getting Wonder Man and that was after we got White Vision whose packaging said “West Coast Avengers”. That bodes well because Tigra’s arms and legs will be used Feral and Wolfsbane body parts. Plus Wonder Man’s legs will make for Hank Pym’s legs. Mockingbird will be on the new female body, but who knows which classic costume they will use (pants or no pants). We aren’t too far off from completing 90’s X-Force, X-Factor, Excalibur and 80’s WCA.
@@caseysmith3329 Unfortunately, I am not as hopeful as you. I don't trust Hasbro, and I'm thinking we really should have gotten Feral and Wolfsbane or at least announced by now. Yeah, I also read they might use the Tigra body, but considering how she's peg warming and discounted everywhere, it doesn't bode well. I hope I am proven wrong.

love this figure! Yes, they need to do a Mockingbird. Also need to re-release that classic Hawkeye. I missed out on that the first time around and not going to pay that crazy mark up.
A classic Hawkeye using the Vulcan mould. Those butterfly joints will help with bow poses. A new bow is needed too.

This might be a good choice for a custom crimson twins figure.
Always liked this look in the comics, for sure, but something here gives me vibes of somebody's dad trying to look cool back in the 70s, more so than a super-powerful hero who happens to be wearing a safari jacket. Am guessing it's the big grin(?).
As a fan of the comic, the look is nice. As an action figure collector, this is a pegwarmer. It would make great customizer fodder, like that guy who leads the Metal Men from DC...
Looks alright. I think the effects are too short. They should have been longer or in a cool color to stand out better. They look more like accessories to the belt than thrust. The blast effects with the Cobra Viper three pack may give a better visual.
Hey, thanks for the review, I liked it! I agree that the figure does look like a pretty good and solid representation. I particularly appreciate having an expressive face, instead of a blank emotionless face. I also particularly appreciate that the zipper goes all the way down the jacket! You would think that's something obvious, but they didn't do it for Quake/Mariah Hill, and I do miss it for the overall look. Weirdly, I don't recall any reviewer mentioning that flaw in the general praise for it. Pretty minimal in terms of accessories. The tiny blast effects for the belt are nice I suppose, but they're also underwhelming and don't look as good as I thought they would.
Finally, although I'm not 100% sure yet, I think that safari jacket Wonder Man will go in the classic Avengers and the modern one will stay with the West Coast Avengers.
He looks like a light skin Ron rivera the head coach of an American football team the Washington football team. Lol
Really loving this figure! Wasn't expecting much from this, but in hand his head sculpt and the jacket look great. Just need a Classic Mockingbird to tick off the original West Coast Avengers team now!

Looks like a decent adaptation of Pérez’s design.

And I know,it’s probably hard to tell, but does that Puffy arm happen to be a reused/redeco Hulk BAF arm?
Charlie-27 in yellow/red could reuse the Hulk BAF body, but the 1990s Valentino black Merc suit would be Juggy body.
I'm pretty sure the Puff Adder baf re-uses most of the Caliban build a figure. Puffy gets new hands and feet.

It annoys me that Hasbro could very well have done a ball joint on the waist. They did it with Doom and Kang, why the lack of effort here Hasbro?

I’m not sure why Hasbro has pulled the blurb. If they think they don’t need because it’s a more adult line then they should start improving the QC. I like their character selection and for the most part the execution but some of the plastic feels cheap and QC is definitely 50:50.
I sure don't love the lack of waist ball joint. I wonder what body is hidden underneath that jacket overlay...
This is part of why their profit margin is dropping. These figures are released back to back without anyone having a second to breathe. The figures are $27. We need a second after the Blob.

1:40 The calves have an awkward curve to them. They were like this on Red Skull too. On the package renders, the calves are on the opposite legs and the curves look normal. This makes me think that they're putting the calves on the wrong sides on the figures that use these boots. Molecule Man uses the same calves and they also don't match what's shown on his renders.
I want to head swap with the OG body.

I hate to be to the one Debbie downer in the group but I cannot give a rave review to a figure where the shoulders don't look attached to the jacket, the pinless elbows do a worse jobs with gaps then older revoltech amazing Yamaguchi figures and that Seinfeld puffy shirt forearm is just terrible. Finally I just saw No Way Home again and that head reminds me way too much of Norman Osbourne especially that creepy smile. It's a pass for me. I wasn't feeling the puff adder anyway.
