This look is the best classic Wonder-Man look. It's from the time when he was mostly paired with Beast on the Avenger's, and the two characters bounced off each other beautifully in much that same chemistry that Booster Gold and Blue Beetle found out of the blue over at DC. The simple black outfit with the red W would be my second favorite. But Red Safari Jacket wonderman was something special. Blame David Micheline and George Perez.
This figure should've come with the Gray Beast smiling head in blue as a MANDATORY accessory.
The penny pinching is palpable.
Why that head
@@SoftEndy That is how he looked while Beast and Wonder Man were both in the Avengers.
It made no sense when it was added to the Retro gray Beast.

0:19 Best look for Wonder Man, but then again, as someone from Gen-X, I grew up with this look for him during the 1980's and was an avid reader of the Avengers comics during that time period.

I really don't mind this classic look for Simon because I really like it a lot and even though I do not have him, I will get him because to me this is a pretty good Wonder Man action figure, Fantastic review on this figure Anthony and have a Happy Sunday today.
oh yeah, that neck peg is also on the homecoming peter parker from the ned leeds 2 pack. thought it was weird when I saw that too lmao. I was just trying to take the head off, not take the whole double ball peg out of the neck.
I would rather have the Black and Red design or the Classic Green suit

I am rather curious. Are there any pro-wrestling fans about [in the comments section]? I imagine there are at least a few, so I’ll now ask them this: Does anybody here remember The Mountie? Because Hasbro’s Marvel’s Wonder Man-in this figure’s interpretation, that is-looks like The Mountie.

"It's just lines" 😂
I knew there was something weird about the pockets, but couldn't put my finger on it. Then Anthony pointed out there aren't any pockets...just outlines.
I don't mind this look for Wondy. I had a few comics where he and Beast hung out, and he was dressed like this.
Other than the fake pockets, his shoulders look too low and small. Wonder Man is a muscular looking guy. Also shouldn't his pants be form fitting? As if he just grabbed a jacket and wore it atop his superhero costume.
The head sculpt looks great. Different hands are always welcome.
I took the jacket off out of curiosity and it’s a new torso and it does have an ab crunch, but it’s barely functional.
They put the money into additional parts that barely move and are also going to be completely hindered by a jacket.

Especially at a time when prices are on the rise, inflation is through the roof, and quality is in the gutter, these no-nonsense reviews and your personal standards make it easy for someone like me to know when and where I, too, should draw the line. I was going to pass on some of these too, so it's affirming to hear you say the same. And especially for people who may be addicted to collecting, I think your reviews may help cut through the fog and help them realize when to say enough is enough. Keep it up, good sir.
What I want to know is what’s with the stupid zip on the jacket? Sculpting it with a zip means it has to be open,at the bottom,like that. The box art shows buttons…. which makes sense! Things like this drive me crazy because it just reinforces how little the design team pays attention.
This figure is perfect for custom fodder.
I do like this version of the character and I will be buying it but I gotta admit it is underwhelming seeing it being made this cheap...
I haven't got my figure yet but first thing I thought when I seen that head peg on the video was the same thing: are they cheating out on plastic with that? Damn things must be VERY tight on Hasbro if they're doing that 😂

I do like the look for the mighty avengers team with iron man Ms marvel wasp sentry and Ares but I really want the full ionic version from the Busiek Perez run

I Asked for this figure, I agree about the arms and legs.arms should have been sculpted muscular or form fitting like his pants should be. I'd buy resculpted arms if you make it.
Yeah, I don't like this look for him. The modern look is pretty nice, but I try to stick with classic looks for characters, so I'd say my favorite is his classic green one.
Darwin may have something of a zombie as he loves going for the heads... braaaainnns...
I don't know Wonder Man, when i saw this figure at glanced at my local store i thought it was young doc oc. no harsh feeling...i just know basic marvel characters. So i curious and found this review...

I feel like that’s why most people buy these figures. I understand loving a character and wanting a figure of him/her but that just not enough of a motivation. The figure has to actually be GOOD. Or good enough to where you can look past the faults.
With this one, those wrinkly, blocky elbows and knees. the low shoulders, and barely any paint it’s hard to look past the faults. And I’m not even attached to the character.
Q of the Day: I was reading comics when this look debuted and throughout it’s heyday. I hated it then, and I still hate it now, but a lot of fans have been clamoring for it. As for the figure itself, it just looks awkward.

Anthony's Q of the day - I followed this character in the comics right up until he started looking like that. My least favorite - if it is a favorite at all. The pants are to be skin tight and not wrinkly. The buck should be bigger. I purchased this character as part of the wave, however I am not sure how I am going to display him because I really don't want to see this outfit on.
I don't know why somehow the head kinda gives me alfred molina vibes from far😅😅

Legit looks like a regular guy in a regular cheap jacket that's also wearing some sunglasses in the rain lol no buttons on the jacket, disgusting joints and no paint. Good job Hasbro, your typical ML. #Throwawayfigure. You said it best man..."uninspired".

Im not hyped for this figure... Not interested at all... The elbows are terrible... no effects... the jacket looks good. The head is also nice. really meh figure.
I hate this design personally. I very much prefer the design with the Big red W or the old animated cartoon design where his fists are red.
I'm not a fan of the jacket either plus the sunglasses don't match the artwork on the box

Wouldn't a waist rocket pack set his jacket on fire? To be honest, I could care less for this character. Not sure what I could do with it as fodder. Easy pass for me.
WONDERMAN is my favorite Marvel superhero and he has so many great costumes and they chose this? It's a pass also where the heck is BEYONDER?
I hate this look and have since it debuted. I want a damn 1st Appearance/1970s return from the dead Wonder Man. And it would be an easy reuse for the much--needed 3-D Man.
Sadly wonder man doesn’t have a great figure they’re all bad to some degree. The more modern one I don’t like the head sculpt or size. This one isn’t the one I wanted but I think it looks better
I like the look and if it was ANYTHING like the source material I might buy it but that figure is one of the worst ever, I don't think there's anything on it that remotly resembles the box art except maybe the belt, truly an awful figure and I think you were far to kind to it.
Those who are into classic Marvel were excited for this version. Total cheapout! Wrong buck as he is too small. Those sleeves are too long and it gaps way too much at the elbows. Hard skip! W Coast completests will probably get it anyway which is why they didn't do better with this character. Like this version but the energy body will look better for Legends.
