If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.
Thank you sir very informative video. Gonna try this in a bit since mine are rattling a bit not so much with a warm engine. Very weird that your camshaft was worn out so much. Hope you had a decent mileage out of the motor atleast. Thanks again!
@CoatsandGaiters Ahh yeah thats too bad mine doesnt drink a drop thankfully. I saw under the oil pan is where the oil gets picked up and then travels up through a hole in the engine block and lubricates the camshaft. So its either overheating, oil pump or not checking the oil levels I think. Still sucks man best to buy a new car maybe since their pretty affordable. Engine swap is also possible but comes with alot of labour hours.
Is there a reason you're not using an angle gauge to turn the crankshaft to position as per the factory instructions. A Renault specialist has told me that it is the only way to do it properly any other method is a toss up.
Hi, thanks a lot for your work, can I ask you a question ? I am working on a D4F708 and the groove is on the 4th cylinder instead of the 2nd one like yours, does it mean I need to use the same adjustments as yours or the ones without the groove? Thanks again, cheers
I see oil consumption in my motor(Dacia Sandero), almost 1 liter in 2000 Km. . Is it possible that these valves clearance need to be adjusted? Since I don't see any blue exhaust I am doubting if the gasket of cylinder needs replacement....
I read they do use a fair bit of oil especially if driven hard. Probably why the one I have ran out of oil by the previous owner. He used to drive every car as fast as he could.@@mehdikhamseh5500
If you have a normal tool without so many measurements, what would you recommend for an engine with 180,000 km? depending on the camshaft of course , Thank you very much for the video
I think you choose a feeler gauge that’s in the range Renault states which I’ve listed in the photos and the end info bit. I just had 2 or 3 feeler gauges that were within this range but just choose what you have available within that range. Hope this helps. Mind feeler gauges are pretty cheap for one with 40 gauges. I’ve included links to tools in my video description.
Do you mean finished result to the series? The engine ran again and was quieter but it's still wrecked and the Dacia needs a new engine. Nothing really changed other than diagnosing that the camshaft was beyond repair and ruined from oil starvation. I guess this was the finished result as a 'short' ua-cam.com/users/shortsLnbIRIcw7U0?si=yal_csl9nB0wEZrf

You didnt notice the feeler gauge bending on the edge of the head causing binding, the camera close up shows this clearly.
What time stamp was it please?
